Considering the price, it was worth it. It came with built in transformer. For other models, you have to by the transformer separately

Bought this to replace the other unit in a previous review which burned out. Its working fine for now, lets see if it can outlast the previous unit (different make) and in a couple of years I may upgrade it to 5 stars.

This product was a complete waste of money the inbuilt transformer produced a constant buzz which made the product totally unsuitable for a household door chime. The only way to eliminate the buzz was to install an external transformer which self defeated the benefit of the product. Having complained to the supplier about the performance of the product I was advised they knew about the problem and it has been taken off the market?. I would not recommend this product.

Good product and does exactly what is says on the tin. Good value for money and fitted well within 10mins. You need batteries for this product so make sure you purchase those separately-batteries do not come with the product.

This is a great idea. I don't understand why all doorbells are not like this. If you can wire a plug, you can set this up with ease. I took an old printer power cable with 5 amp fuse (as directed), cut the kettle connector off and wired it up to the box. I ran some thin 2 wire cord from the box to the front door where I connected a simple button. No batteries anywhere on the system so the job is done, once and for all !!

Took a while for me to find what make my 8 year old existing model was, as transformer was making a loud humming noise for some time. This was it and replaced it copying existing set up ,which has a louder chime, works fine and silent when not in use!

I have marked this a 2 star because the bell is so quite you cannot hear it in the kitchen which is only 15feet away from the transformer/Bell, cant see anything on it to turn it up so this was a waste of money. Unless you know how to turn it up??????
