Amazing! Replaced my messy powerline setup and offers super-fast performance.
I acquired this TP-Link Archer C80 router with a specific goal in mind: to simplify my home network and finally get rid of the messy powerline adapters and excessive Ethernet cabling I had running through the house. I am thrilled to say this router has done the job perfectly and exceeded my expectations for speed and stability. The performance boost has been incredible. This AC1900 router delivers speeds up to 1300 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, and I've verified that the super-fast speeds are noticeable across all my devices—both over Wi-Fi and via the Gigabit Ethernet ports. Whether I'm gaming, streaming 4K video, or downloading large files, the connection is rock-solid and fast, which is a massive relief compared to the unpredictable performance of my old powerline setup. The technology inside is clearly working hard. Features like 3×3 MIMO and Beamforming ensure that the Wi-Fi coverage is highly efficient, sending a stronger, more focused signal throughout the house. The Smart Connect feature is also brilliant, automatically directing devices to the best available band. For the price, especially considering the Black Friday deal, this is unbeatable value. It’s a high-performance, dual-band router that offers excellent coverage, fantastic features like Parental Controls and Guest Wi-Fi, and is an incredibly simple, clean, and reliable solution for a modern home network. It’s an easy 5-star recommendation and a must-buy for anyone looking to upgrade their Wi-Fi game.

Great Router and Access Point
I used this device briefly as my main router as my ISP hadn't yet shipped their own brand router before my internet was upgraded to fibre. I now use it as a reliable access point to extend the range of my network for 4k streaming, light gaming, and general web browsing.Setting this thing up was really simple. I'm pretty knowledgeable with tech, but I don't think I'd have much trouble if I had less experience. To use this with fibre to the property connections, you have to change the router settings to PPPoE and use login details specific to your ISP. (Search for 'PPPoE login BT/Sky/Plusnet/EE...). The web interface is remarkably simple and modern so poses no problems!Once my ISP router arrived, I switched this over to access point mode to reach some dead spots in my flat. Again, really simple to do with one button in the web client. Devices connect seamlessly and quickly. This router has been incredibly reliable, being consistent on delivering 500Mbps speeds. The range is good, but no improvement over the one I have from Plusnet. If you're looking to buy this to extend the range of your WiFi, you won't see much difference if you have anything from the past few years. One minor complaint is the shiny black plastic on top which is a nightmare for dust and scratches. This is, however, a great value for money buy for those looking for an access point, or upgrading anything that caps out at 100Mbps!

Does the job well, good range and no cutting out. Only minor complaints.
A massive improvement over the previous WiFi hub in our house. No random cutting out, and longer ranged. Unfortunately, it seems to have lost some range since installation. On the first day, I was able to get a signal all the way at the end of the garden. Now it's touch-and-go whether it will reach halfway. In fairness, this may be due to there being other users on the network now, preventing it from using beamforming to transmit as far. On the plus side, it works in the bathroom, which was a blindspot for the last one.

Stunning performance!
I don't often write reviews on products I have purchased from Amazon. However on this occasion I have to. If you are wondering if this router is any good, quite simply it has surpassed my expectations ten times over.I have recently switched to BT Full Fibre to the premises. The supplied router (Smart Hub 2) which you are supplied with is quite simply ...RUBBISH! Not worth setting it up.I was previously using a four year old TP-Link AC1200 Router/Modem ( Archer 400) which I thought was doing a pretty decent job until I found out that only ONE of the ethernet ports ( the WAN/LAN port) allows the full potential of a 1Gb connection. That and the Wifi signal beyond 20 feet down my garden was poor and had to be boosted by an external POe wifi access point .The other three LAN ports only allow UPTO 100 Mbps. So hence my purchase of this new router. After configuring the new router I am able to use the 5Ghz frequency at the bottom of my 100 foot garden while streaming Netflix...no delays at all, and this done using my Android phone! This new router has made my TP-Link EAP110 Outdoor access point redundant. I get a better signal from the new router than I do standing right next to the outdoor access point. I was in a Skype conversation with my partner and she said the video image was crystal clear now , where as before even using the 2.4Ghz frequency, the image was pixilated. So if anyone reading this has any doubts whether to purchase this item....JUST DO IT! You will not be disappointed, It has transformed my whole house wifi network 100 times over! An absolute bargain!

Improved unstable WIFI
I have suffered with WiFi issues since I recently moved into a rented flat. I went with NOW Broadband as my partner was with them living in the same area and had no issues with them.First few days were great with no issues then started to have connection dropouts, losing a bar of WiFi signal leaving the living room where the hub was etc. Phoned NOW 3 times, replaced the hub, sent an engineer out who supposedly replaced a contactor in the box outside, gave me money off my bill to buy a booster, nothing worked.I found this item as it had great reviews. I thought why not. I thought this replaced my NOW hub but it doesn’t. You keep your internet set up the way it is and this item is connected to your hub via an ethernet cable. You then connect your devices to this router and you should get all green lights.Initially I had green lights but no internet connection. I panicked thinking it wasn’t going to work with my WiFi. However on the instructions there is details of a website to troubleshoot and eventually it done a firmware upgrade on my phone for the router which took a few minutes. This is all easy to do so do not worry if you’re not tech minded, either am I.After the firmware upgraded, everything was sorted. I had internet. The next thing was to test if it had improved my speed. My NOW hub was situated in the living room and when lying in bed I would only ever get 2 bars of WiFi on my iPhone and videos would rarely load. After I was connected to the TP router I went through and it did drop to 2 bars but then straight away went back up to 3. I done 2 speed tests (see photo above). The bottom one is connected to the TP router and the top one is connected to the NOW hub. It’s almost double the speed. That’s another thing, because you need both your normal broadband and this router set up, you can just switch between the 2 if you want too.I have the Tether app which again it tells how to install in the instructions and I can now control my devices etc. It’s really easy to use and you can customise your settings to your preference. To conclude I was initially skeptical that this would work with NOW but it did and has improved my connection massively. If you’re thinking about it, just do it.Hope this helps anyone who was confused like I was before buying.

Brilliant - 30 mbps speed boost - 3 storey house
We have fibre to the home and the router supplied router was struggling with speed and dropped connections, especially with devices far away (i.e. top floor of 3 storey house). So I connected the new router and on my furthest away device got a reading of 42mbps with the new router, compared with 12mbps for the old. You also have two channels to choose from with the new router and the other one gave 27mbps.So altogether very happy. This was easy to set up - just follow the basic diagram. It didn't work at first as I connected it directly. It needed to go through the old router though as the old router was also a modem and still needed. There is also a diagram for this - this is very basic cable connecting.Very please at the results - didn't expect it to be this good. The app has a bunch of features and settings as well which I'm yet to explore. My best purchase for a long time.

WI-Fi signal is strong but not stable
Bought to improve a terrible wifi coverage of the default Virgin Media router. It it improved it a lot. I got 15-20Mbps in the bedroom where the Virgin Media router could barely give 1-2.But the signal is not as reliable as I expected. I work from home, from that bedroom and sometimes the download speed drops to 0.5Mbps, I can't use the Internet for the calls and tools don't work. That's upsetting and pisses me. The signal gets better when go the living room close the router. Probably, it's worth playing with wifi channels and some other router's config, but for that price I expected something that would just work and works fine, but it doesn't...

An impressive piece of kit
I just upgraded to full fibre as the providers router didn’t have a very good wifi coverage. Most people like me have a spare router in a cupboard somewhere and thought that I could use this as an extender. Well that didn’t go to plan, Teams dropped out, games were unplayable due to the lag and steaming was non existent. So decided to purchase this 3rd party router from TP-Link. After reading the instructions and not having a degree in network engineering. I thought what have I done. Static, dynamic, bridge mode DHCP, IPV6 along with another 30 other different settings. Anyway after plugging it in. It worked perfectly along with great wifi coverage and still achieving the full fibre speeds. Also you get amazing support from TP-Link via live chat and email.

Amazing!!!
This router is absolutely brilliant and has all the features of a premium home or small business router. Obviously it can not handle hundreds of clients like aforementioned routers but it could certainly run a home with no issues at all. With VLAN, VPN client and server capabilities, this router is about the best there is available on the market for a travel router!
