Great for sensitive skin
This cleansing oil is excellent for sensitive and dry skin. It gently cleanses without stripping moisture, leaving my skin feeling soft, calm, and hydrated even after showering. The texture is lightweight and foams slightly, making it easy to rinse without any greasy residue. I really appreciate that it’s fragrance-free, soap-free, and formulated with niacinamide it doesn’t irritate my skin at all. It works well for both face and body, and the 24-hour hydration claim feels accurate. A great option for anyone dealing with dryness, eczema-prone, or sensitive skin.

Gentle, effective cleanser
Wow! This is an amazing cleanser that I use when my skin is very sensitive from peels or retinol. Gentle, takes off makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean, not stripped. Good size bottle lasts a long time. I don't notice any real scent at all. I also use expensive dermoligica special cleanser and this LRP Lipikar is far more economical.

A Family-Friendly Essential for Sensitive Skin and Gentle Cleansing
As a parent managing a toddler's light eczema alongside my own dry, sensitive skin routine, I've been relying on the La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil (13.52 fl oz pump bottle) for over 2 years now. This fragrance-free, soap-free oil-to-foam cleanser has become a staple in our bathroom, used daily for my 2-year-old's baths and my evening skincare. It's formulated with niacinamide and shea butter for microbiome support and 24-hour hydration, and it's accepted by the National Eczema Association—making it a trusted choice for reactive skin. Below, I evaluate its gentleness for toddler hair and skin, scent, cleaning ability, size, and value for money. Gentle on Baby's Hair/Skin: This cleanser is exceptionally mild, suitable for babies as young as 2 weeks old and ideal for toddlers with delicate, eczema-prone skin. The oil-based formula transforms into a soft foam with lukewarm water, cleansing without stripping natural oils or disrupting the skin barrier—key for little ones prone to dryness. For my 2-year-old's light eczema on his arms and legs, it didn't exacerbate flare-ups at all; in fact, his skin felt soothed and less itchy post-bath, with no redness or tightness the next day. On hair, it rinses cleanly without residue, leaving fine toddler strands soft and tangle-free, unlike harsher shampoos that dry out his scalp. Dermatologist-tested and free of common irritants, it's gentle enough for daily use on face, body, and hair, promoting long-term skin health without overwhelming young senses. Scent: Completely fragrance-free as advertised, with no detectable artificial or chemical odors— just a subtle, clean neutrality that doesn't linger on skin or in the bathroom. This is a huge plus for sensitive noses (mine and my toddler's), avoiding the headache of perfumed products that can trigger eczema or allergies. Post-rinse, there's zero scent transfer to clothes or towels, making it seamless for family routines. Ability to Clean: Despite its ultra-gentle profile, it effectively removes daily grime, sunscreen, and light dirt without harsh scrubbing or multiple passes. The oil-to-foam action emulsifies impurities on contact, lathering lightly for even coverage on slippery toddler skin during bath time. It tackled playground mud on my son's legs and my evening makeup (including waterproof mascara) efficiently, leaving everything feeling refreshed rather than stripped. For eczema management, this balance is perfect—it cleans thoroughly to prevent buildup (which can worsen irritation) while infusing hydration via niacinamide and glycerin, clinically shown to soothe and protect for 24 hours. No greasy film remains, and it pairs well with a follow-up moisturizer. Size: The 13.52 fl oz (400 mL) pump bottle strikes an excellent balance—compact enough to fit on a bathroom shelf or travel bag (about 8 inches tall, slim profile) without feeling bulky, yet substantial for frequent family use. Each pump dispenses a pea-sized amount that lathers generously, yielding 80-100 uses per bottle in our household (2-3 pumps per bath for toddler, 1-2 for my face). We typically go through one bottle every 6-8 weeks, making it practical for repurchases without constant restocking runs. Value for Money: At around $18-20 per bottle (often bundled in sets for under $30), it offers premium performance at a mid-range price, especially considering its multi-use versatility (toddler baths, my skincare) and eczema-specific benefits that reduce the need for separate products. We rebuy it frequently because one bottle lasts 6-8 weeks for dual purposes, equating to about $0.25 per use—far better than cheaper drugstore washes that irritate or require add-on treatments. The refillable option (available separately) boosts sustainability and savings, and its efficacy on sensitive skin justifies the cost over trial-and-error generics. For families with eczema, it's an investment in calmer routines. Additional Notes: I also incorporate it into my own skincare routine as a first-step cleanser, where it gently dissolves oil-based impurities without drying my mature skin. Usage tip: Warm the product in your hands first for optimal foaming on cooler bathwater. No drawbacks for our needs; it's a gentle powerhouse. Conclusion: The La Roche-Posay Lipikar AP+ Gentle Foaming Cleansing Oil earns top marks for its toddler-safe gentleness (eczema-friendly in our home), neutral scent, effective yet non-stripping clean, practical size, and strong value—making it a repurchase must-have for our family. If you're navigating sensitive skin at any age, this is a 5-star game-changer.

Best gentle cleanser I’ve ever used
This is hands down one of the best cleansers I’ve tried for sensitive skin. It feels luxurious going on, foams just the right amount, and leaves my skin incredibly soft and hydrated. No tightness, no residue — just calm, clean skin. I love that it’s fragrance-free and works beautifully on both face and body. It’s rare to find something this gentle that actually feels like it’s doing something. Absolutely worth it, and I’ll keep coming back to it.

Soft cleanser great for morning use!
Great morning cleanser that makes my skin feel very soft. The thickness of the oil foams very quickly and leaves my skin feeling very refreshed. Easy to use and a very enjoyable scent. It also moisturizes my skin. Like other LaRoche Posay products, the size and value makes this product worth it.

Very good cleanser that neither breaks me out or dries my skin
I've tried many oil cleansers and this is the one I'll stick with. I have seasonal combination dry skin (dry all over in the winter, normal with dry T-zone in spring and summer). I've used Bioderma shower oil (the huge bottle, not the biosensi one which I heard was a good one but haven't tried it), Purito oil cleanser, manyo original oil cleanser, all types of Banila Co cleansing balms, Anua oil cleanser, and in the past 2 weeks, this La Roche Posay (LRP) oil cleanser. It's the only cleanser that neither dries out my skin nor breaks me out. Here's a crash course on oil cleansers: there are oil based oil cleansers and there are water-based oil cleansers. Sounds confusing, I know. When you read the ingredient list, if the first ingredient is water, it is a water-based oil cleanser, otherwise, it's an oil-based oil cleanser. Both types work by dissolving the grime and makeup on your face with an oil or lipid, then emulsifying that gross oil with water to make it rinse off clean and not leave your face greasy. The oil-based oil cleansers have to be applied on dry face with dry hands, then emulsified by adding a bit of water, then rinsed off. The water-based oil cleansers can be applied on wet face since they contain water already, and they tend to foam up (emulsify) very easily. Among the cleansers I've used, manyo, Purito, Banila Co, and Anua were oil-based oil cleansers. They are excellent at removing makeup and exfoliating dead skin. They tend to break me out though, despite me emulsifying them very thoroughly and double cleanse with a facial soap afterwards. Bioderma and LRP are water based and they don't exfoliate so well, but they also don't break me out. They do a decent job at cleansing my face. I don't wear makeup except lipstick and they can take care of that easily. I do wear sunscreen, but that's not something I can be sure whether they can remove completely or not. Bioderma is cheap but leaves my skin a bit dry. LRP is cheap, just not as cheap as Bioderma, and does not dry out my skin at all. TL:DR: If you have very dry skin that's not prone to breakout, and/or you wear heavy makeup, and/or you want an excellent exfoliator, use an oil-based oil cleanser (manyo, Anua, Banila Co...) Make sure you start with dry face, dry hands, massage thoroughly before adding a bit of water to emulsify, then then rinse off. Your face should not feel oily afterwards, but if it does, try double cleanse with a foaming cleanser afterwards. If you have dry-ish skin that's prone to breakouts, try a water-based oil cleanser (LRP, Bioderma, Cerave...). With these you can actually double cleanse with the same cleanser, in case it doesn't take all of your makeup off in one go.

Truly Gentle and Hydrating – Perfect for Sensitive Skin
I’ve gone through so many cleansers trying to find something that wouldn’t dry out my sensitive skin, and this one is a winner. It’s gentle but still gets the job done—leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and hydrated instead of tight or stripped. I use it on both my face and body, and it’s become a staple in my routine, especially during the colder months when my skin tends to get itchy and irritated. What I really appreciate is that it’s fragrance-free and soap-free, which makes it perfect for anyone with eczema-prone or reactive skin. The added niacinamide is a nice bonus too—it’s calming and helps reduce redness over time. The texture is more like a light gel-oil than a thick oil, and it lathers up just enough without being overly bubbly. If you're looking for something truly gentle that still cleanses effectively and leaves your skin feeling moisturized afterward, this is worth trying. A little goes a long way, so the bottle lasts longer than you'd expect. Definitely one of the best hydrating cleansers I’ve used.

Perfect for dry skin, No pulling!
This cleansing oil transforms into a soft foam that gently removes dirt and oils without stripping moisture, perfect for dry, sensitive skin. My husband has very dry skin, and this cleaner has been a game-changer! It rinses clean without tightness or irritation, making it a mild yet effective daily cleanser that works for both face and body.
