High Flow Acrylics by GOLDEN, High Flow Intro Set, 6 Colors, Professional Acrylic Paint

I've bought Golden products several times over the years and I really have to hand it to them. Not only have they never disappointed me, literally every purchase I've made has shocked me with the high level of quality on offer. I primarily paint fishing lures and wargaming miniatures, so if you're in either of those worlds you'll know this is a little bit more expensive than Vallejo or Army Painter. Nothing against those brands but you immediately feel the slightly higher price tag. The pigment is incredibly rich and opaque, the consistency is very even and smooth, and the paint just doesn't want to separate, even after days and days of the bottle not being moved. The drying time is about on par with other brands but it feels less like you're painting and more like you're using an incredibly smooth marker or pen with how consistent and precise this applies with both an airbrush and a traditional paint brush. Absurd value.

I'm a fan of Golden paint. It's consistently good quality. This particular paint is so useful. Sometimes, I need a paint that is thinner to paint details. If you know anything about acrylic paint, you know the property of the paint changes when you thin it with water. I love being able grab a bottle of Golden High Flow paint and my detail brush to add fine details to my paintings.

Having been a long term Golden customer; I like to try all their products. These paints do not disappoint. I love the transparency especially in the blue and green. With a little Golden Glazing medium, you can layer these colors back and forth creating great effects. Throw a little glass bead medium in there and now you have interesting texture too. The colors are thinner but still just as vibrant as you would expect from Golden. Pair this with Patti Brady’s book “Rethinking Acrylic” and you too will love these paints!

This is a very watery paint. It may have worked for a watercolor painting, but didn't work to paint a portrait on a stretched canvas.

Fantastic paint. Use it for my flash sheets to replicate water color with better transitions. Flows amazingly and worth the tiny bit higher price.

By far the best liquid acrylics I've ever used. Shame they're so expensive, but they are still the best despite that.
