I’m really impressed with this security strike plate. It’s much thicker and sturdier than the one I had before, and the difference in quality is immediately noticeable. My old plate wasn’t holding up, especially with the wood behind it being rough and worn, but this one fit perfectly and gave the whole doorframe a much more secure feel. Installation took a bit of work due to the condition of the wood, but once it was in, I felt a lot more confident in the door’s ability to withstand force. If you’re looking to reinforce an entry point and want peace of mind, this is a fantastic upgrade. Highly recommend!

Love it! Replace my 2 old strikes with this 1 piece strike plate. Looks great!

The strike plate comes with 9 mounting screws, 7 longer (3.5" ?), 2 shorter - as such it is robust to improve security. But I bought these to help compress the insulating foam around the door and reduce draft on colder days. My garage doorjamb was cracked, and had several screw holes which made repositioning the existing strike plate very difficult. This long one was compatible with the distance between the existing bolt and latch. However, the existing latch strike plate was farther from the door edge than the bolt strike plate, which forced me to mount the new, long plate at a slight angle (see picture on white door frame). Later I bought a second one for our back door, it was a perfect fit (first picture with natural wood frame).

The strike plate is well made and of good quality. I would happily buy this product again. Directions are printed on the back of the package and very basic. That said installation is straightforward. I wrapped some scotch tape around it self to make it double sided and stuck it to the back of the strike plate for the install, so I could test before drilling. As to the rating. I gave it 5 stars. The strike plate is great. The screws are however not so great. They would get 2 stars. It wasn't possible for me to drill 3 inch pilot holes. The screws became difficult to advance after about 2 inches. Out came the Bosh hammer screwdriver, and the first two long screws promptly broke. I ended up using 1.5 inch deck screws which worked quite well. The picture shows how/where the screws broke.

The plate is excellent. The 3 inch screws are absolutely terrible and strip easily. I know how to use a drill and impact driver so user error is not an issue. I absolutely refuse to use these screws and you shouldn’t either. You get one shot when installing a door plate. Luckily I noticed the cheap quality screws early on and didn’t have to rebuild the entire door frame. One screw broke off inside the door jam and the other stripped completely. I would only suggest purchasing this item if you are going to purchase some quality screws.

Had a hard time installing as my interior door frame is metal cladded as it turns out. Finally was able to fit when I ordered a metal drill bit to make holes and seems much more secure than the old one!
