Pages are thin and weren't separated
Would have been 5 stars as the book itself is stunning, however, the pages are extremely thin and required for me to painstakingly sit and gently separate all 791 pages as they were all stuck together. Pictures included.

More Than Fairies—and More Than They Bargained For
As a teacher, I love bringing folklore into the classroom. Enter Hans Christian Andersen: the original plot-twister. Sure, the title says “Fairy Tales,” but there are mermaids, shadow spirits, and talking tin soldiers—all served with a side of existential dread. My favorite moment? Holding up this brick of a book and announcing, “Today we begin studying fairy tales.” The panic in their eyes is priceless. Don’t worry, we don’t read the whole thing (I’m not a monster). But Andersen reminds students that folklore isn’t just fluff—it’s weird, deep, and wildly human.

Thin pages
The book itself is beautiful. The pages, however, are tissue paper thin. You can see the writing on the the backside pages. It makes it very difficult to read. Such a shame to be so cheap on the paper when it could've been a wonderful keepsake to share with generations.

Very poor quality. Thin cheap paper, feels rubbish comparing to two other cheaper books bought same time. Do not recommend.

Good but book is too thick for kids

I love these editions and think they’re always really cute and well done. This one is no exception and looks phenomenal on the shelf. The print quality is lovely and the whole book feels really nicely put together. It’s a great option for both kids and adults who enjoy classic stories. I’m really happy with it and can’t wait to collect every version.

Very nice book to give as a gift with a good collection of stories, however as others have mentioned the pages are thin and almost translucent. It’s not a deal breaker but some pages seem thinner than others and it’s difficult to read.

Pages are too thin, so you can see text of the following page through the previous one… The price should be lower for this item
