Good features, good screen and good directions
I enjoyed the TomTom app for my iPhone and the old GPS device I had from TomTom. I tried a Garmin after the TomTom and didn't like the graphics and directions details as well, so I moved back to TomTom. Once you get this device paired with your smartphone and have the TomTom MyDrive app up and running in the background on your phone, you'll get live traffic updates. They COULD make the directions a little more clear for how to get the GPS device linked to your phone and what to expect once it's connected, but once it's done it works fine. Don't let anyone tell you it won't work because it absolutely does! :-) I work in IT, so I tend to be a little more thorough about setting up my devices but again, they really do need to improve the directions for how to correctly pair this device to your phone, etc. Oh and the updates to the maps and firmware updates for the GPS device via your wifi connection is very convenient! No more plugging it into your computer.

GREAT GPS
I bought this GPS on a limited deal for $99.99. I could not pass that up. What sold me was the wi-fi feature. When I unboxed it, after setting up my wi-fi network, it immediately informed me that an update was available. It took about 45 minutes to complete this. I then began using it. It seems to be very accurate. I agree with other people who have reviewed this that the screen resolution could be better. But that does not take away from my review. The update feature is so user friendly, that when I pulled into my driveway - it picked up my network and it said that there were 2 updates available. For $99.99? This was a steal. I was lucky because now it is selling for $178.Overall? This will get the job done and get you from point A to B. I look forward to using this as I am driving to the US/Canada border next month!

Works but very different then the others
I received the GPS from Amazon warehouse. Immediately a problem showed up. The demo program kept jumping in while looking at the map. I did a factory reset and it cured the problem. A huge learning curve from Garmin and Magellan.Gets satellite logon quickly. Can quiiz Sri from my phone. That is a plus. In a motorcycle since the phone is protected. I will have to work with it for a few months. But for now it is workable. The screen is bright and I like the information it displays that I is needed when riding my motorcycle, much better than the other two leading brands.

Tom tom
Works ok sometimes takes me to a location that was not even entered. Example entered my home address as the driving destination and tom tom took me to another location. Phone works better for directions would not buy again.

Keeps me on schedule
Has a few quirks, but nothing major. And, it’s not loaded with junk like my previous Chinese made unit. As a school bus driver, my rural route changes weekly. By teaming this unit with additional mapping apps these changes are no longer of any concern. It’s small size has allowed lower left side placement without any blocking of the crossing. mirror, and is now a part of my scanning routine. Would recommend this unit to those drivers who work rural routes, more so for areas with poor cell coverage..

The PDF Manual for this Product
The downloadable owner’s manual that is available on the product page from Amazon is a crying shame as far as installation into your car is concerned. According to that document, this TomTom is windshield mount, only. According to that document, "some TomTom products" have an expandable SD card memory slot with NO explanation of how to get to it on this TomTom Go 52. So many people have said this TomTom does not have a memory card slot. They must have only read the PDF file like I did. Yes, this TomTom has an SD memory card slot. Yes, this product is dash mountable. Use the setup instructions that came in the box! The "mount" boss is clipped on to the back of this TomTom and is removeable and reversible for dash mount. The memory card slot is underneath that removable piece. I had to ask myself, what instructions could possible be in that box that aren’t in a 136-page PDF file on how to use this thing.I drive an older vehicle, so it’s nice to get text messages read aloud. The phone is clear on the other end of the call. I like the fact that it tells you your destination is on the right or left. It was a breeze to connect to my phone. Time will tell on how the traffic and reroute systems work. The computer voice (the only voice that gives street names) is ok. If you are a long time TomTom user, there is a definite learning curve to using this one.

Beware at this time this device doesn’t work with iPhone
This device doesn’t work with my iPhone 8I found out after trying to get it to work for several days. I called tomtom tech support twice with this issue. The second time I called the tech asked me what kind of phone I had. I told him an iPhone 8 and he asked what version of software I have on my phone. I said that I had the latest update released 13.2.3. He then asked me if I could change to an android or something and the device would probably work with that phone. I told him that I of course wasn’t going to change my phone out that I would just return the device. He also was kind enough to send me an email explaining the issues with the iPhone not staying connected with this device. The issue is that you have to download the tomtom MyDrive app from the Apple App Store and then connect the MyDrive app to the tomtom go 52 device using Bluetooth. Well my phone will connect with the device but the MyDrive app won’t stay connected. In order to get traffic reports and the other services the MyDrive app provides it must be connected so it’s useless to me as I perched it for the traffic updates. It will take you where you’re going though but without traffic information. I have since purchased the tomtom 1525tm and I’m hoping for the best lol.
