I purchased this cable hoping to rescue my Fatal Frame saves from an old Xbox with a busted disc drive. As someone else suggested in another review, I used a Verbatim Store n Go 4 gb USB memory stick formatted as FAT 32. I also formatted it as just FAT on a second try, and that worked fine, too. Here's the problem. The USB stick shows up as a memory card perfectly. I was able to transfer several games saves that were about 3 blocks to 6 blocks, but when I tried to transfer the Fatal Frame save, which is nearly 2500 blocks, the copy would fail every time after about 400 blocks. Then I couldn't delete the failed attempt from the card OR erase the card on the Xbox, so I would have to take it over to my computer and reformat it. That's when I began playing with FAT/FAT 32 formats, but neither of them let me transfer the large game save over. It failed every time. I don't see it as the fault of the cable. It just seems to be an error that occurs on larger files, because it had no problem with smaller files. However, considering that, if your goal is simply to transfer game saves, since this cable doesn't allow for transfer of larger files, you might as well just use a regular Xbox memory card to transfer your smaller save files.

The item worked well for me. I was able to use this cable adapter and a Brook Wingman XB2 converter so that i can game on an original Xbox using a Xbox Series controller. Here was my setup: Xbox Series controller -> USB-C to USB-A OTG adapter -> USB 3.0 Cable -> Brook Wingman XB2 -> USB Female to Original Xbox male cable -> Original Xbox console. i.e. I was using a wired connection to game on an OG Xbox.
