I wasn’t allowed to have a Trapper Keeper when I was a kid, my parents insisted the Kmart knockoffs “worked just as well.” and of course were a couple of bucks cheaper. So now, at 51 years old, I finally pulled the trigger and bought one. Getting one is just as cool as I imagined. The retro triangle ‘Shapes’ design hits that perfect nostalgic note, and the interior is laid out just like I remember, velcro closure, pockets, and folders. I’m using it now to organize business, medical, and government paperwork, and it’s doing the job well. That said, it does feel a little flimsy, which was surprising. I assumed the name-brand Trapper Keeper would be more heavy-duty than the old off-brands, but material-wise, it’s about the same. Also, the sticky side of the velcro isn't very strong and wants to keep coming up. Not a dealbreaker, just something to note. 3/5. A fun and functional blast from the past. More about the vibes than the durability, but I’m glad I finally got one.

I feel like a kid again

Bought this Trapper Keeper for my middle school aged daughter and she absolutely loves it. Excellent quality and very convenient with the internal pockets and she especially loves the clipboard inside that she uses daily for writing notes in class. The retro vibes are a huge added bonus and she has had many comments from her classmates saying how cool and functional it is.

The positives are that it is absolutely gorgeous, light and great to carry and seems like it has overall good quality. The downside is that the ring binders are surprisingly small and you can't put much in there. Otherwise it bulks up fast. I'm disappointed in that.
