superb suit
My daughter loves this swimsuit -- and I do, too, at least so far. After it arrived, she used it 6 days in a row in chlorinated water and very bright sun. All I did each evening was pop it into the washing machine on the Refresh cycle and let it dry overnight on the countertop. It has retained its softness, shape, elasticity, color, and, according to my daughter, still no wedgies. Before this suit she has always worn much less expensive swimwear -- Op from Walmart, e.g. There is just no comparison. It used too be that as soon as she popped up out of the water she was pulling up the top, pulling down the leg-holes, etc. Now, she just pops up out of the water ... and keeps going. It is like the difference between cheap goggles that leak and fog up and don't really fit, and good quality swim goggles that you can forget you have on.As for size, we had to go 2 full sizes larger than her clothing size to get the right fit. My daughter is app. 4' 7" and about 77 lbs -- pretty average, I think, for a 9-yr-old. Not a waif, but not chubby, either; just athletically built. Heeding the advice of others, I ordered a size 12 rather than her usual size 10, but had to send it back because it was too small (not long enough in the torso). In the end, we got a size 14, and it fit perfectly. The return was very easy -- just save the mailer/packaging. I was surprised to see that the plastic mailing pouch in which it came is designed to be used as the return pouch (kind of like the Netflix envelopes for returning DVDs). I am often reluctant to buy things online that have a high probability of not fitting because I imagine the return will be a hassle. This return was a breeze; the whole process was easier than going to a store to try on suits. We ran into some shipping problems in receiving both the size 12 and the size 14 suits, but Amazon responded very well to both. The first suit was lost in transit. When we notified Amazon, they sent a replacement via next-day. The second was delayed (apparently put on the wrong truck for delivery). Amazon notified us of the problem and it, too, arrived the next day. Perhaps the small size of the package makes it liable to being misplaced by shippers. All in all, just a great suit and easy process.

4 star for now but will gauge if it deserves a 5 in 3 months' time
My 8 year old daughter belongs to a swim team and swims 3 times a week for practice, at 1.5 hours each time. Then there are swim meets once or twice a month - so she swims a lot. I give this a 4 stars because this is the second time I have purchased this same swim suit for her. The first time it was for size 7 and this time for size 8 as she's growing. We have been buying one swim suit per quarter (3 months) and we were buying the Speedo splice because she likes to take off her swim suit easily but that swim suit disintegrates within the 3 months. Actually, I purchased the size 7 Racer Logo and it has not been used much on account of it being hard to take off when wet. However the splice disintegrated and I wanted her to give this a second try on the Speedo Racer. She tried it and used it for a few weeks then it got snug and so I purchased the size 8 Racer. So far after a couple of weeks, my 8 year old has been wearing it and has not complained about it on account of it being hard to take off, instead she likes it being sturdy and not stretchy (which is a term she used on her size 7 Speedo Splice, which literally fell apart with use). I still have to gauge how good this is by the end of June 2014 to see if it deserves a 5 stars on durability, i.e it lasts longer than 3 months, not showing signs of losing its integrity.

Nice Suit
My 5yr old loves it. We had two new suits from Old Navy but one actually changed colors while my daughter was in the pool the other day. She thought it was a feature. She's swimming 2-3 hours a day, four days a week now so I will post back with more info on how this holds up. I expect it to perform well since it isn't heavy on the lycra and I've read where suits with more lycra stretch out incredibly fast. My daughter is 48in tall and weighs 55lbs. She's pretty muscular and although she is about a size 7 she usually needs an 8 to provide more room in the hindquarters. This suit may last her 3 or 4 months just growth wise. We're being careful to rinse it out promptly to prevent the chlorine from breaking it down. We're also using a lower spin cycle (the high spin on new washers is really hard on some fabrics) and air drying it. I'll be back in a month or two with an update.

Arm holes dictate the size and Weggies are a thing of the past
I bought this for my daughter's advanced swim lessons. I was persuaded by previous reviews to buy a larger size. The arm holes were supposedly too small and the suit supposedly ran small. She normally wears a size 6. I purchased a size 8 based on the reviews. My daughter is petite. The arm wholes in the 8 do seem to fit exactly, but the suit is a little big around the middle front and back. For smaller kids, going up one size is probably enough, but it's hard to say with the arm hole issue. Oh, and this suit is actually weggie free. I didn't witness one pull or tug on it. A weggie free practice

perfect suit!
Like many moms, I want my kids to be able to swim with appropriate, non-wedgie causing, quality swimwear. After MANY suit purchases locally from brand names, I decided to try this. I am so impressed. It's quality. It covers what should be covered. It fit well (though a tad too snug in a 10 in my opinion, and my daughter is 9 and on the slender ~ slightly smaller side for her age) and stays in place as she swims and dives. Worth the price, plus the fabric holds up well to the heavily chlorinated pool we use about 5-6 days a week, others have worn so thin they got tossed. I like it so much I plan to get my younger daughter one, and as soon as my third daughters suit kicks the bucket, Speedo will be where I look!

Sturdy swimsuit
I purchased this for my daughter to wear during her swim lessons. It is a very sturdy suit, and I have not had any issue with the color fading or bleeding. I say that the suit "fit as expected" because although it is big on her, the size 6 was a bit too snug. She'll have plenty of room to grow, and I fully expect the suit will hold up nicely enough for her to actually grow into it.
