The Reolink Argus PT Ultra 4K Solar WiFi Camera has been a solid addition to my home camera setup. I installed it on a gazebo that sits near a public trail behind my fence. Recently, a windstorm knocked down part of the fence, leaving a gaping hole where anyone walking by can see in or walk in. Since rebuilding in the middle of winter was not ideal, this camera became a practical short-term and likely long-term security solution to keep an eye on things before and after the fence gets built. For my intended use, which is monitoring the yard and trail access, it has delivered excellent effectiveness and performance so far. I absolutely plan to leave it there permanently. The overall build quality feels very much in line with what I expect from Reolink. I have been running a Reolink DVR system in Colorado weather for over 12 years, ranging from below-zero winters to hot summer sun, and my DVR cameras have never failed. This Argus PT Ultra gives me that same impression of durability and longevity. The camera housing feels solid, the mounting bracket is sturdy, and the included 3W solar panel has a clean, functional appearance that is small enough not clash with the gazebo design or look terribly out of place. Installation was straightforward, highlighting the system's usability and ease of use. Because it is fully wire-free, I only needed two tapping screws into the gazebo's wood beam and a secure mount for the solar panel above it on the camera mount. Within a couple of hours of sunlight, the battery fully charged to 100 percent. That solar functionality removes the hassle of climbing up to recharge batteries, running a power cord to a plug, or running an Ethernet cable, which is a major advantage over some battery cameras I have used in the past. Setting up the Reolink app was equally simple. After creating a Reolink account, I scanned the QR code on the camera, connected via Bluetooth, and then added it to my 2.4 or 5.8 GHz WiFi network. I was pleasantly surprised that I still had a strong signal all the way across my yard. What stands out most is the 4K image quality and the 360-degree pan-and-tilt functionality. The clarity during the day is excellent, and the color night vision with the motion spotlight does a good job of preserving in the dark. The auto tracking feature adds real functionality, especially for monitoring activity along the trail. Instead of a static view, the camera follows movement across its field of view. The ability to view both this camera and my older Reolink DVR system in the same app is a big plus. It keeps everything centralized and easy to manage. Remote access also works reliably, so I can check in when I am away from home. Local storage via microSD is another practical feature, especially since there are no mandatory subscription fees. Motion detection only captures short clips, so even a 32 GB SD card is sufficient to store hundreds, if not thousands, of clips. In real-world use, motion detection has been accurate, and the smart detection options for person, vehicle, and pet help reduce false alerts. I had to turn up the motion detection all the way for it to detect people walking by on the trail, but it will definitely pick people up at 60 percent if they get closer. The spotlight and siren serve as a deterrent, though I mainly rely on notifications and recorded clips. I left the siren feature off since I don’t want to alarm every person who walks by. Video playback in the app is smooth, and the interface is intuitive without feeling overly simplified. Sound quality is also decent for picking up voices nearby. I could easily hear birds through the app as well as dogs barking in the distance. The camera and app offer plenty of options for managing the device, with a few more knobs that advanced users will enjoy. There are a few nuances to be aware of. While it supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi 6, which offers compatibility with older versions of Wi-Fi, placement still depends on having reliable coverage at the install location. At my gazebo across the yard, I decided to join it to my 2.4GHz only network since 2.4 goes further than 5.8. My wi-fi AP is inside the house, so I may end up replacing the factory antenna on the camera with a directional patch antenna to help boost the signal. Also, while the solar panel has kept the battery full for me, shaded areas or prolonged overcast weather could affect charging performance. You also need to purchase a microSD card separately to enable local event storage. These are not deal breakers, but they are practical considerations. At around 120 dollars, I believe this camera matches its price point well and is actually a bargain for a full PTZ camera. It does not replace a full wired PoE system in terms of continuous recording and absolute reliability, but for a wire-free outdoor solution with strong video quality and solid functionality, it comes very close. In some scenarios, especially where running cable is difficult, it can realistically replace higher-end wired alternatives. Overall, this is a high-value option for anyone wanting a flexible, solar-powered outdoor security camera with strong performance and good long-term potential. If you already use Reolink products, the integration within the same app is a major advantage. For new users, it offers an easy entry into a capable and subscription-free security ecosystem, but there is a bit of a learning curve. The directions are pretty clear, and if you aren’t the type of person who calls tech support on the first sign of trouble, this is a great solution. As long as you have decent WiFi coverage and reasonable sunlight, it is a practical and well-built solution.

Both this device (and mainly Reolink) are flawed. If you are thinking about buying this device then hold your hope very tightly in your grubbly paws as you pull the trigger on it. Let's start with Reolink's (so called) compatibility list. Stick your tongue very firmly in your cheek while you read it because some camera's on the list as working do not, and some listed as "possibly not" do. For example; I have 3 camera's. 1 is an Argus Eco Listed on the Reolink Home Hub Compatibility page as working doesn't. It needed a firmware update, except when I tried to update I got a message telling me the firmware was up to date. In the meantime that camera was not monitoring anything! I wrote an email to Reolink support and waited. And waited......... I eventually ended up spending part of a morning resetting both the camera and the Home Hub so I could use it again as a standalone camera (there's another catch to this.) Eventually...... I got a response from Reolink........ Deep Joy........Err no! The response after 4 days was..... "Whether you would like our technical team to investigate the issue?" Well d'oh. Problem was that the question was phrased in such a way that I was wondering whether their team wanted remote access? So another 24 hours go by while that issue is clarified. And...........24 hours later another email arrives...... You are getting the picture! Eventually after a full 8 days they "pushed" a new firmware update to the camera which solved the problem. I said earlier that there was a catch and here it is! If you leave the sd card in the camera then the recording is on the camera not the Home Hub (something Reolink, are not clear about) so of course I removed it before attempting to add it (unsuccessfully remember?) Reolink don't seem to understand that you bought the camera for security so while you are aging and dying waiting for your once a day email to repair the situation your camera may not be providing you with that security because you do not have a video stream or the ability to record any incidents. As far as I am concerned the Home Hub is is a case of Reolink shooting themselves in their own foot but their customer feels the pain. What's the point of a compatibility list if it's not accurate? The idea is also a little half baked. As it stands it's a good idea, the fatal flaw with many security camera's is that if someone steals the camera they've also stolen the recording! This does prevent that. By half baked I mean, it looks like someone had a great idea but no one thought it through. The Home Hub is about the size of a Sonos speaker. I cannot imagine that there isn't enough room in that box for some batteries as backup during a power cut. The current situation is that all of my camera's are powered by rechargeable batteries but if I have a power cut at my house the camera's will still work but unless I have battery backup the hub will shut down and stop recording. As I say; not thought through!

This is my 3rd one i bought. I am using all 3. Great product. I have one at each place I use the reolink cameras. You need these to use the cameras and the app together. Very easy to add this to your account. I have all 3 on the same app page and all 3 are at different properties. Its also easy to add the cameras to these. It does not come with a memory card. I suggest either the 128 or 256 card. Neither of which I have filled up yet, but good to have more memory than not enough. I highly recommend this company for their cameras. Pay once for the equipment and that's it. No app charges. No monthly charges. I bought the better solar powered video sec cameras. They do a sale on those at times on amazon. I get them then for about 189?? Each. Depending on the size of your house and what your walls are made of, one should be enough for an avg size home. These take about 5 min to add to the reolink app, maybe less.

Very pleased with the purchase. Working perfectly to monitor a new owl nest in our tree. I climbed ladder and disturbed the owl slightly but got it in a perfect location. Here are some key points: Battery: I am getting 8 days with no solar attachment. It’s in a tree so very little sunlight and the squirrels would just chew the wire. This is less than advertised but exceeded my needs. I just dangled a power cord down the tree and put the USB C adapter in a waterproof container. Then I just plug it in once a week. That is with about 100 detections a day recording each for 8 seconds. Your mileage with your settings will vary. Charges back to 100% in 6 hours. Maybe someday I will have a use for the solar panel. Storage: I have used 12GB in two weeks with 100 detections a day each for 8 seconds. It’s a 128GB card…..way overkill. Infra-Red: The Infrared at night is the best clarity for my use looking into the dark nest. I was not entirely sure looking at the specs that it had infra-red capability. Sensitivity: It took a few days fiddling with the settings to get the right triggers. The non-detection mask is critical for avoiding false triggers with leaves and such. Capture: Keep in mind that these battery powered cameras cannot capture the first couple seconds of activity like a wired NVR system can. To save battery they go into idle mode and wake up on detection. I see some complaints about this but I can’t ding the product for this unless I was OK with a 6 hour battery life to stay active all the time. NVR Integration: In short, no, you cannot record the recordings to your NVR (if you have one). But as a consolation, the camera shows up in the phone and desktop app, right next to the other cameras. Just be aware the recordings are coming from the SD card on the camera, and take a little more time to retrieve. Water: We have a couple torrential downpours. No issue yet after two weeks. Very Pleased.

I don't have a ton of experience with security cameras, but these are working quite nicely. Good image/video quality. The tracking seems to work decently for people, animals and vehicles. Doesn't seem to have many false alerts so far (about a week). Night vision mode is as good as or better than the several trail cams I've used and has the color option with the lights which works nicely. I used gutter mounts to mount these around and those mounts even worked under the gutter guard. So far the batteries last all day. I've not seen one drop below 90% even on a completely cloudy day. But all four have just about maximum exposure to the sun with no real obstacles like trees, etc. Curious how they do in winter. Bit of a warning. If you want to avoid complete frustration and doubting your own research before purchasing don't even bother with the wifi on the home hub. It is abysmal in terms of distance, reception, and dropping connections. Just plug the hub into your ISP wifi router. turn of it's wifi, and connect each camera to the ISP wifi then add each camera to the app. 1000% better experience.

This excellent for the price! The zoom the auto tracking and the sound is so clear! The video 4k like it says awesome! You can exclude vehicle which really helps so you dont get constant alarms. The app user friendly big time it was really easy to setup. The con I can see is when I get alarms the person is gone or almost gone but it records on que great but a little late on live view. I will try adjusting sensitivity!

Pros: The camera is easy to install. Picture quality, access from your mobile device, and night time image are all very good. WIFI signal communication "distance" is also good. PTZ features are acceptable, but the "P" can be wonky. Cons: accessing the cameras from a PC is not easy. And, event recording, using the most sensitive PIR settings is miserably POOR. I've had vehicles, people and animals come and go without being "seen" by either of my Reolink PTZ cameras. Seven dump trucks stopped and unloaded gravel 50ft from the cameras clear point of view without being recorded. I'm trying to record all of the things that occur at a home construction site for time verification and SECURITY. Therefore, I'm assessing POOR value to this product. PS: changing the PIR and recording settings doesn't make any difference. I've owned and operated Reolink products of all types for years. However, I really need a WIFI capable product that can actually record events that are obvious.

What does it do? Ability to manage 8 reolink cams and store all 8 cameras' footage into your hub locally. You own the data. Encrypted. The nonpro model (this one) is just a hub that takes 2 micro SD cards. (pro hub lets you connect more than 8 cameras and takes a hard drive instead o SD). It does come with an 64gb high endurance card. I put the sandisk 512GB card in the second slot. This hub allows you add to your reolink ecosystem and associate REOLINK cameras with the hub. Check if your reolink cameras can work with this hub (see the reolink site). The hub can manage up to 8 reolink cameras. It allow ALL reolink footage to be stored to your local home hub (rather than the cloud) thus eliminating the need to subscribe to cloud space --> of course the benefit of uploading to cloud is obviously for the fact that the data is safe from fire and in a different location. The hub connects via ETHERNET to your switch/router. so long as your cameras are on the same network as the hub (same subnet), it is able to connect to your hub and store the data. In fact this hub association with solar powered cameras such as the two that come with this kit, is actually better for batterylife on the solar powered cams becasue the hub manages when and how footage is sent, reducing unnecessary wake-ups and conserving battery. Also he hub acts as a local relay, minimizing power-hungry Wi-Fi activity thus saving battery life as well --> it was found in some forums that you get a huge power savings using the solar power cams with the hub rather than without the hub. Now how does this work when cameras have SD card install in standalone mode and then you join the camera to the hub? what would be the point of keep SD card in the camera itself? Well it acts as redundancy. If network is down, and cannot reach the hub, then footage is stored in the sd card directly in the camera. if your home uses power, and hub is down, then the solar powered battery cams still operate and footage is stored on the sdcard installed in the camera itself. So yes theres still a good reason to keep sd card in the camera itself, even when you have huge storage in the home hub. Something i immediately noticed when using reolink cameras with the home hub is that i can connect to each camrea quicker . Something i didnt expect but was a pleasant surprise. If you have more than 8 cams on your property you could actually buy a second one. Manage two sets of cameras in your home. Example: use one hub for front yard cams and another one for back yard cams. Buying one hub is a nice low cost of entry (compared to the home hub pro which is pricier). Most homes you'd just need one hub. But for more elaborate properties you might either upgrade later on to a home hub pro to get more than 8 cameras... or just expand youir existing setup with another 8 cams with a second home hub. ------------ Anyway, i'm impressed. i absolutely floored by the reolink hub. Thus far i've got nothing but great news on this system. VASTLY superior to main stream camera systems. Adding home hub imo is a total MUST HAVE. It adds a lot of value to the setup for very little cost. Saves you from needing a cloud subscription . I can easily recommend this one.

Great product works exactly as described even though it’s placed on a more sheltered side of the house. Battery 100% every night regardless. The ability to adjust the motion sensitivity is a huge plus also.

充電器で充電できず、不良品かあ、と思ったのですが、で返品しようとしましたが、他にも充電できていないというレビューを見て、もしかして充電器の問題？と。 そういえば、試したのは全てTypeC-TypeCのPDタイプだったことに気づき、試しにTypeA-TypeCの充電器を使ったら、充電が始まりました。 充電器でうまくいかない方、TypeA-TypeCのものでも試してみてください。 まだ初期設定段階なので、一旦、星３つです。 追記 1週間ほど使っています。 画質は綺麗で、夜間もしっかり映ります。 自動点灯するLEDライトがかなり明るいので、防犯効果も高そうに思います。 microSDに記録しますが、同時にftpサーバーにもアップロードできるので、自宅のNASにもアップロードするように設定しました。 別途、クラウドサービスを申し込む必要がなくこれができるのは、私的にはかなりメリットです。 ということで、星5つ評価にさせていただきました。
