Sabrent M.2 SSD zu 2.5 Zoll SATA III Aluminium Gehäuse Adapter (EC-M2SA)

This M2 SSD SATA housing is a good product that worked perfectly out of the box. What I particularly like is the build quality; the housing is anodised aluminium rather than plastic so it is lightweight but sturdy enough. Though it's clearly not intended to be roughly handled - but why would you? I use this with a standard SATA to ESATA connector (inc. USB power connector) and alternatively with a SATA to USB only connector; but of course the device can be attached to a PC in the same way as a standard SATA hard drive. I now prefer this standard sized SSD housing to the smaller M2 housings that aren't much larger than the chip-set. Whilst the smaller housings are very convenient for USB connection, there is obviously more air space around the chip-set in this housing and I would think that this must be beneficial to keeping the chip-set cooler. Certainly the smaller housing I have does warm up appreciably after a lot of data shifting. So what would get it 10 stars from me? Well, in many M2 housings there is a stand-off for the mounting screw that keeps the board level and parallel with the housing base. In this unit there is no stand-off so after tightening the screw (and one must) the back end of the chip-set is forced down to the housing base that bends the chip-set ever so slightly; and I don't like that as, in the long term, it could put unintended pressure on the board and connector. A 2mm thick slither of foam placed under the back-end of the board cured this potential problem. But it would surely be better if the manufacturer supplied a fibre washer for the screw. Pedantic I may be, but M2 SSDs aren't cheap and need to be handled with care; so why not add a washer to the case. Not much to ask!

New b650 motherboard didn't support sata m.2 drives only nvme pcie. This excellent bit of kit solved the problem converting it into a drive that can be plugged in via a sata cable into a sata port and therefore saved my old drive which is still fine for what I need. Has good build quality and is easy to use and install.

Bought a WD blue 1Tb m.2 ssd. Realized it doesn't work with my motherboard / PCIe adapter so I bought this on a wim. It just works. The case is made from aluminum and comes with 4 case screws and 2 m.2 installation screws. Once i installed it to the machine windows recognized the new drive instantly and I just formatted it. If you bought an m.2 and it doesn't work with your hardware, I'd recommend buying this. I haven't looked into the R/W speeds yet, if they impact the performance at all, but I'm just happy I can actually use this drive now with my old hardware. (Just tested it, speeds have not been impacted, I am getting the speeds I am expecting for the WD blue m.2 - Would highly recommend)

Not sure if it’s the M.2 drive or the Sabrent case/adapter but they don’t quite fit together. The drive will plug in and work but the case won’t close. To close it fully you have to force it and it bulges, so I used it with putting the cover on. It reads and transfers data ok and got me out of a bind, so that was ok as I probably won’t need to use it again.

Works well. This is ONLY for m.2 drives which are SSD. These are the older, less common ones. Will not work with m.2 drives which are nvme/pci-x. Connected it to a sata>usb converter and works too.

So easy to fit your sata ssd into the housing and to fit in into the case fit in the space i needed perfectly hence 5 stars

Bought a refurbished Optiplex SFF 3060 and wanted to utilise the limited space as much as possible, so converting the redundant optical drive was a priority. To do so, I first needed to get the SATA SSD to fit in the 2.5in enclosure, which is where this adapter came in. The drive easily mounted inside this, and with the addition of another adapter, was able to remove the optical drive and use the space for more storage. Highly recommended for anyone thinking of doing something similar.

Por el precio que tiene, no creo que haya ninguna opción mejor. El artículo viene embalado en un blister de cartón con los tornillos y destornillador necesarios para el montaje. La calidad me ha sorprendido muy grátamente, ya que no me esperaba que los acabados fuesen tan buenos. La caja permite montar todos los tamaños de SSD en formato M.2 (OJO con el tipo de M.2 ya que ésta caja sólo soporta tarjetas SSD B+M (SATA)). Viene con dos tornillos para la sujección del SSD y una pestaña de plástico que permite separar la parte trasera de la tapa muy fácilmente. Tiene tamaño estándar de 7mm, por lo que encaja a la perfección con el sistema de sujección de mi portátil. Otro punto a favor, teniendo un poco de maña, es que puedes utilizar la parte de aluminio de disipador, en mi caso baja unos 4º la temperatura media. Excelente producto y compra más que recomendada.
