What are you waiting for? You know you want it.
Definitely a quality product. Assembly does take a while, but the end justifies the effort. It weighs a lot more than the typical homeowner spreader...and it works a lot better. I really like the braced gear box, and the pneumatic tires. It glides over terrain that would otherwise cause distress, and the broad spread pattern shortens application time significantly. Pay the extra. It's worth it.

Nicely built, fairly easy assembly
Felt like I needed to share my experience to combat some of the negatives on here. Box arrived in good shape, all parts and instructions inside sealed bags. Yes, it comes disassembled, it is not that hard to put together. Took me about 45 min by myself while chasing around a 14 month old trying to steal my parts throughout assembly. Just take your time and look at the pictures in the instructions. Seems very well built and don’t expect any issues with operation, but will definitely update when I use it for the first time in a couple weeks.

Exactly what you would expect, as advertised. For the price a great value.
Hard to assemble requires quite a bit of time and is possible but instructions are not the best. I am fairly handy and can handle most mechanical projects easily and still had to assemble and take apart some of the assembly and retry after seeing the mistakes. The bin is much larger than expected and if filled to capacity would be very heavy. Tires are great. But do not like the way the applicator lever works seems backward and the first time used did not have the limiter tightened enough and over fed a section of the yard causing the application to burn the yard. Also do not like the direction of open and close. Not sure would repurchase but like it enough to keep it. Now that I know some of the things to watch for I think will be ok in the future.

Solid adult sized spreader
If someone broke into my garage and stole it, I would buy this again. And I fully recommend this spreader to others. If you are over 6 foot, you know how pushing a standard spreader works for you. You're bent over and it feels like you are using a child's toy. Not with this. It's big. It feels and looks adult sized. It really is that big. Just pay the price and get it.Some things you do need to know. First, if you try to put 130 pounds of fertilizer in it, it will handle it just fine. But think about if YOU can push it. if you have even a slight hill in your yard, chances are you can't. Or it will be a big struggle. Just put half that in and don't worry about it. I filled mine with 100 pounds and tried to spread it on a 95F day. Up hills. I will not do that again. It's just to darn heavy to push. If a spreader could laugh, it laughed at the 100 pounds, so the limitation was all me.Assembling it is difficult. You'll need a helper to hold the parts as you put in the bolts and tighten everything. Follow the instructions and you'll do it. Those extra hands will help.Don't be fooled and think the 100 pound version is just as good. Don't do it. It's not built as sturdy. Get this one and you'll probably never buy another spreader. There are reports in the comments here about the "gate" that drops the fertilizer not working. I'm guessing a part was installed upside down. If you follow the directions, it will work. If it doesn't work contact the company. There has to be a fix because they do work, and they work really well.

....
Assembly wasn't as difficult as some people may lead you to believe. But the ever-increasing importance of small packaging size causes designers and engineers to take a fairly simple product and break it down into as many parts as possible so they can stuff it into a little teeny box. I'm surprised the hopper wasn't in two or three pieces. This is the exact same product that they sell at Lowe's with a John Deere sticker on it.One of my biggest complaints is there is no deflector on the back of the spreader so your legs and feet get pelted with seed or salt or chemicals or whatever you have in the hopper. That makes absolutely no sense to me. Why don't they have a safety deflector on the back side?Back to assembly, a special attention to adjusting the gate mechanism or the gate may not close or the gate may not open as far as you expect. Not a big issue just pay attentionIt does roll easier than my piece of plastic junk Scott's spreaderThere are numerous cheap plastic bushings that I'm sure will fail.I'm starting to believe that I would have paid close to $600 to acquire a spreader that I really wanted

This is a KIT not a PRODUCT
This as actually a kit of many, many parts for the buyer to put together, like those wooden puzzle kits. IT IS NOT A PRODUCT. The description should have said, "we provide the parts for you to build your spreader" Many of the parts could have been assembled BEFORE shipping with a minimal or no increase in box size. Obviously I would not expect the handle or wheels to be premounted but most of the other parts could have / should have been assembled BEFORE selling. What a way to maximize profit for the company. Make the parts in China and then ship them here for the customer to build it for them. DISAPPOINTING. I should have returned it but I need it so looks like they got their way.[UPDATE] It tool over 2 hours for me to assemble. Reading some of the 1 start reviews, I suspect some were due to the buyer assembling the unit which could have been avoided with a little assembly by the seller.

Great product and company
If you can follow simple directions (with pictures) and can put a nut on a bolt, it is not difficult to assemble. 1 part missing in parts bag, but called Agri Fab and without hesitation they shipped the part to me. Excellent service.Spreader is very big, so I put all fertilizer in one shot and it worked great. If you don’t use multiple large bags of any product, might be too big for you.
