Fits a 2010 Mini One 1.4l with the N12 engine
Wasn't believing the coolant temperature sensor reading on my 2010 Mini One 1.4 litre, so wanted to install a good brand (Febi Bilstein) so I could "trust" the reading. If you don't know how to get coolant temp on your Mini's rev counter display, just google "hidden Mini service menus" on youtube. This Coolant Temp Sensor is the usual Febi Bilstein quality, but it is a little fiddly to fit. The trick is to get the electrical connector off first, and then remove the metal retaining clip which holds it to the housing - do be careful not to drop this metal clip because they are much better at securing the sensor in place than the plastic one provided in the box. When fitting the new sensor, here's a good tip: Do make sure you align the sensor before you push it firmly home - you want it aligned so the electrical connector release tab faces forward towards the front of the car - if you ever have to change this sensor again, you'll thank yourself for making that connector release make accessible by pointing it forwards !After fitting, this Febi Bilstein sensor showed a much more believable coolant temperature of circa 50C after starting, and around 105C fully warmed up. Nice.An easy 5 star for brand and price.

Mini clubman 2008
The coolant sensor works as it should, the clip that secures the sensor in position however failed immediately, luckily the old clip fits.

Mini Cooper R56
Bought this as I was having an issue with my mini where it was struggling to turn over and was running rich due to the engine not having the correct temperature being sent to the ECU.As soon as I changed the old sensor for this it cleared the error on the car. For reference it was on a Mini Cooper R56 2010 1.6L non turbo - N16 engine

Rubbish
Installed this sensor and it nearly overheated my engine. Basically did not work. Sending or not signals to the ECU that caused misfires and overheating because the fan stopped working when I installed this sensor So a cheap part nearly cost me a whole lot of money
