Chewy and tasty
I used to get Korean rice cakes at Trader Joe's, but sadly, they discontinued them. So I went looking to see if I could buy them online. After a bit of poking around, I found these, so I decided to try them. The instructions aren't very clear for cooking just the cakes, so I did the same thing I did when I cooked the Trader Joe's product (although theirs was frozen and this is shelf stable): I poured about half a bag into boiling water, let the water return to a boil, cooked for four to five minutes, and drained. That did the trick. I estimate that a third to half a bag will give you one serving. These rice cakes aren't really flavorful, so it's best to serve it as side dish (since I'm vegan, I use a meat analogue) to something that is. But I do love the chewy texture, and that's why I eat them. While you can eat them as leftovers they do tend to stick together after sitting in the fridge, so it's best to cook only what you need.

So good
These are really nice. There's a lot of packaging but the individual size package is pretty large! It's great.

So yummy!
These are the best rice cakes I’ve ordered. I don’t have anywhere near me that sells them so I have to order my rice cakes online, these were so yummy and the perfect size and price!

Good Rice Cakes!
These rice cakes are of good quality and freeze great for later use. They are quite small however. Still nice and chewy once cooked.

Interesting texture, but I enjoy
When I first tried these I was unsure what to expect. They are chewier than I thought, but I'm my opinion, not in bad way. I've also tried them fried a few times and they get a crunchy & chewy texture which I really enjoy. It took a few tries to get it where it's crunchy but not browned (I just experimented with frying), however it's worth it. I enjoy them both ways and rest of the family prefers them fried. We've also added these to stir-fry's also for added texture. They are pretty bland in flavor so the sauce/other ingredients you use will really determine flavor.

Nail polish remover
I would give this a -5 if I could. My children love Tteokbokki. So my daughter found this on Amazon and we ordered it. She used only half of a pack and stored the remainder in a ziploc bag. When she went to use it a few days later, she opened the bag to an overwhelming chemical smell similar to that of nail polish remover. There were also white specs all over each rice cake. I made her throw it away immediately. Absolutely crazy that this stuff can be sold as ‘food’!! It’s poison
