Reading this with my husband brought back all the wonderful memories of reading them as a child. They are beautifully illustrated with tons of wonderful characters and little details in the pictures that are so fun to look at. Wonderful Series!

We love these sweet little stories of Brambly Hedge, you feel like you’re there! My favorite part of these books though is the pictures, so detailed and colorful and darling!

The "Brambly Hedge" picture book book series by Jill Barklem, can be enjoyed by children & adults, alike. I have collected the entire series (total of 8 tiny books) that she first published in1980's and then recently in 2014, 2017 & 2020. I also have the one larger earlier book that contains all the 4 seasons along with Jill Barklem's biography complete with a sweet photo of her as a little girl in England and several of her illustration sketches. These wonderfully illustrated stories of Field MIce and their woodland creature neighbors, are a delight to read. Upon receiving her first book in the 1980's, it has been my tradition to read each of the stories that coincide with one of her story's seasons. JIll Barklem, who passed away in 2017, was such an imaginative illustrator and author. I do believe she now is at play with her friends within the Brambly Hedge.

Wonderful, language rich stories with beautiful, intricate illustrations. I picked up these books years ago at a yard sale for my boys and now look for every chance to give them as a gift.

I purchased this set of books for my Granddaughter. The stories & pictures are enchanting & I'm sure they will be among her favorites as she grows. I intend on buying the other set at a later date.

I was brought up on these books - could look at the illustrations for hours. I guess it helps when you live in the countryside and can imagine families of mice living in hollowed out tree trunks by wild rushing streams. Just thinking about them reminds me of childhood. My mum got me the originals as they came out - this is a set of the four classic season books - spring, summer, autumn, winter. They tell the adventure of several mouse families (and a vole or two). There are other ones to collect if you do like these. I brought them for one of my boyfriends nieces - I am unsure if she liked them as I have not yet asked her. The illustrations are amazing and everyone should have a copy in their bookcase.

I had these books as a child and was so happy to find them on Amazon to gift to my daughter, who is nearly three. I am very pleased with the quality (hardcover books in a lovely box) and more importantly my daughter loves them. I think they are stories which will grow on her as she gets older. The illustrations are exquisite and bring back warm, happy childhood memories. Highly recommended!

The Jill Barklem collection is a must read for any child's imagination. A beautiful book with lovely illustrations. Delivered on time and in great condition.

自宅にこれの日本語版があったんですが、30年以上前の物でまだ幼かった4歳下の妹にほぼ全ページに落書きされ、当時飼っていた猫に爪を磨がれ、それでもまだ読めると粘っていたら今飼っている猫におしっこされてしまい、これは新しい物を買い直せという猫からの圧力だと思って買い直しました。 昔からこのお話が好きで、息子は興味がないし、娘もまだ小さくて読めないから私の希望で英語版を購入。 イタズラしてトラブルを起こすネズミたちにはくすりと笑えるシーンも多くあります。 癒されると同時に自己肯定感も上がるから絵本っていいですね。
