Excellent M65 Jacket
Excellent jacket, well made and gives you a feeling of the original. The removable liner is quite thick and will keep you warm on those cold winter days.Overall I couldn't be more pleased with this item.

Great Winter coat
Coats great, lovely inner fleece jacket that fits snug then then rest is there to ward off the rain. Used it in the rain today & water just beads off it.I am 6ft5 so wasn't to worried about the other reviews saying how large it was as I need large. I bought the 3XL & it fits me perfectly in the arms, around the shoulders & there's a velcro tab to fasten it round the neck. Can't really fault the coat for £80 & I expect it to last a fair while as it's well made & should see me through the winter & a few more no bother. One tiny niggle is the zip does up from the other side which is a bit of a faff, Good strong zip though so once it's up it's up.

Proper jacket
Ordered the size down as advised. It took a couple of goes to get a jacket that was not faulty. This was no great issue as the customer service from Elliott was outstanding. All return postage costs refunded. The jacket fits well and has proved very warm and comfortable to move in. Remove the liner and it wears well on cooler days. The material comes in a raw state, like a good pair of jeans, that will over many years of use and washing fade I'm sure. The colour is black not dark grey like the picture - was described as black so no issues there. Definitely considering getting the green jacket as well.

Superb quality, many pockets, with detachable inner jacket
The product is as good as described. It can be quite warm without the detachable inner jacket, or it can be VERY warm with the inner jacket. It has a concealed hood in the colar which I don't think is water proof because it's made of fabric and not some synthetic material to keep water off your head but it can give you a typical protection.I followed the advice of the seller to buy one size smaller but still the jacket is quite large especially on the sleeves! It's fine by me, I don't mind wearing baggy clothes from time to time.Don't trust the reviews that say that this product sucks or it's cheaply made etc. They don't know what they're talking about. This jacket is top quality and I definitely recommend it to anyone interested!

Looks good, but...
Ok, to begin with, I'm not in the mode of writing reviews of items I've purchased. That's quite remiss of me and something I intend to change as of now.. good or bad!The positives... The item arrived quickly, size fits well, plenty of pockets and along with the inner jacket it certainly is warm now that the colder weather has arrived! The negatives... let's be clear, this item is not actual army surplus. That's ok, I'm sure it's all a matter of wording, but if you're looking at this item and it is essential for you that you buy something used by an armed service, this is not it.The big negative and something that has really, really hacked me off is that two of the press studs used for closure on the jacket are now broken. The lower left pocket stud sheared off and thus it is impossible to close. More annoyingly one of the main studs has come away from the fabric on the front of the jacket meaning that the jacket cannot be properly done up... and certainly looks like an item much older than 8 months.Which brings me to the point... seller/manufacturer - please be aware of this problem for future customers. My coat is barely 9 months from purchase, has not been worn regularly until the recent cold snap and immediately the two issues above have occurred (and no, I can assure you that I'm not heavy handed at all!)I'm typically British, I tend not to complain, but I have to say I'm really disappointed here with the problems that have occurred with this item, money not well spent it would seem.Ok - Edit 21.1.16. Following my review I contacted the seller of this item and explained the problem. Response was quick and as follows:-"im very sorry about this, but im afraid your item was ordered over a year ago, if this has now started to lose buttons im afraid you will need to go and get this fixed, this has been way over 6 months. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you, but im afraid at this time we can not help with this no more. you can contact surplus your self who make these jackets see if they can exchange this for you, but your warranty with us ran out a few months ago im afraid. im really sorry im not able to help.A few points - I'm interested to understand how the seller can determine that I purchased this item over 12 months ago - last time I looked, May 2015 was around 9 months ago. Is it me or is this a rather dismissive approach and certainly not likely to result in my custom in the future either via Amazon or their site direct. I'd like to tell you that I edited the reply above - I didn't!! Really? REALLY?? The seller seems to be suggesting that its not unreasonable for a coat of (in their words) over a year old to lose buttons - sorry chaps, but regardless of your trading preferences - if I'm going to spend £80 on a coat I expect it to last. Finally and importantly dear reader... These views are only my own, so if you want to purchase this item, or perhaps any item from Military Ops either through Amazon or their website - Caveat Emptor - the above response from them represents their rules for trading it seems, something you should bear in mind and adhere to should you have cause to complain.I did the sums last night, I've only worn this item 12 times (10 of these since the weather turned cold, to stop my ickle wickle chest from getting a chill), I'm not exactly built like a brick public convenience and I'm about as heavy handed as a stick insect on steroids - but the buttons still came off. You live, you learn. Time to remove Military Ops from my favourites bar.

Too big
I got the small as I'm usually a medium. The inner liner fitted okay but the jacket was enormous. Long sleeves and baggy. Happily, they refunded me no problem when I returned it.

The dogs nuts !
I have been looking for one of these jackets for a while now. My first searches took me to a well known auction site that only had these jackets despatched from china .Try as I might I could not get any sense out of the supplier regarding how to order my size. I'm glad I kept looking as this jacket is far superior quality and includes the removable liner that was extra elsewhere or just not included. This jacket is heavy, well made ,warm and feels great to wear .Do take the advice about seizing though and order one size down from your usual as the jackets are huge ! I am 6ft 4in and 18 stone so nearly went for the 3 xl however the 2 xl was ordered and fits beautifully. This jacket is worth every penny don't be tempted with the ones half the price.
