Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 (PS3)

Hello,Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 has a wonderful graphic engine and it really makes fun to play it, because you have lots of possibilitys to make a great goal.Ball-physics has been improved and is very good.How you will know, PES has problems with licences, but as long as you know google there are allways some freaks who spend a lot of time to create the real teams with their clothes and their faces. So to me this is no longer a problem.I have played over 200 online matches, but i allways have to quit the game after you played a little bit,beacause you get damned angry. This game still has huge problems with the online mode. There are many people who have a very bad connection but still are allowed to play with you. Consequently you can see the ball for several seconds everywhere and at the same time nowhere. This means it is impossible to play.Thats what Konami has too improve for the next years.All in all its a very good game with problems in its online mode.Have fun with the game!

+You can control the players much more precisely and I think close to the goals (within 25-30m) the physics are much more realistic, compared to Fifa.+Much more options concerning tactics, skills, fitness and day's form.+Very much action-fun, KI doesn't seem to act as arbitrarily as Fifa's, so it is really YOU who affects the game.-The big disadvantage is that you have much less teams, and wrong team names (e.g. Chelsea = London FC, the whole German league is missing).-If you do not like the standard controller setting (or any other settings) you have to change them everytime again (but consider that on Fifa you can't change controllers anyway)-referee desicions, especially in cases were no freekick is given because of "advantage" (which often is none)Overall it is real fun, if you like a realisitc football-simulator. But it is more difficult to get into it compared to Fifa, so I would rather recommend it to advanced video game football players.

Having never played either of the PES and FIFA games for many years, I was presented with a copy of FIFA09 by accident recently and gave it a go. It was okay, wasn't over awed by the visuals but it was a good footy game.So I then decided to buy PES to see if it was any better.PES isn't a terrible game, it's just that Fifa does most things better.Fifa is also nowhere near as frustrating as PES. For instance why oh why do they insist on you having to press Start to skip replays, it's awkward and unintuitive. You have to press Start three times to skip a goal celebration, and it won't automatically continue playing if you don't press it - ie it will pause until you do. Very poorly designed.Referees are waaay too handy with their cards, and even when sliding tackles are blatantly perfectly timed tackles that win the ball.Niggly stuff, but I found it really ruined the flow of a match. In fact at half time through a game I logged onto Amazon and ordered Fifa09 haha.

Really good football game for someone on a budget. I got mine on a Amazon Warehouse deal for 33p.

Bought in an attempt to learn to play soccer video games but it's hard to say .... I do not know if it's the game or am myself .... too bad ....I could not play satisfactorily but I think the game is very good .... many people play ....

Pro Evo must be the only game that no matter how poor it is, we always come back for more. I've owned all the Pro Evo's and this one is the final nail in the coffin. It is incredibly frustrating, the goalkeepers are worse, if possible, and ignore the ball a lot?!! Player selection is limited and very annoying. The passing system is awful. The players are sluggish and slow to react, if they do at all, and decide to wander out of position. Scoring is harder, which isn't so bad, however it would be harder seeing as it's like kicking a beach ball that always flies sky high.The fouls, oh the fouls. You CANT slide in. The players seem to fall over in ridiculous ways and you always get booked even if the opposing player doesnt even trip and carries on running. You cant get the ball back against the computer.However, online play is better, but they seem to have slowed the game down to sort the old issues out. The issues mentioned above are even worse online though.Konami have been very sloppy not to have the team transfers updated, there is no excuse for this. I wont comment on the menu's, music and commentary, we all know how laughable it is.Overall this game is incredibly frustrating, no matter how long you play it for hoping for it to improve. Ive had enough of forgiving the faults of the Pro Evo's, and can't be bothered with it anymore. The standard of the PS3's games is far beyond this, will someone please get hold of Konami and sort them out.

I really like it.The game engine is very similar to last year. A lot of improvements have been made.The game has slowed down a fair bit which makes it far more realistic but not as pulsating. Not sure if this is a good thing or not... Time will tell.The biggest improvement is the look of the game. Champions League mode is visually fantastic. You really feel as if you are in the CL.The variety of play and goals you can score will stop this game from getting repetitive and will keep me entertained probably until the next one comes out.Overall, this is a really good game. After reading some of the reviews I wasn't sure but I'm really glad I bought the game.I liked last years edition, if you didn't this wont be for you.

Still a great game, fantastic AI of player and opponents - "thinks" like a true football game.
