Not too bad to install, and it works as desired. Yes, it does change how your car will sound upon startup-and it is noticeably higher pitched when turning over than in the past, but for the price it cannot be beat-and not being stranded in a parking lot makes it all worth it. I put it in myself and it would have taken maybe an hour, but I was having a hard time loosening one of the 15mm bolts holding the old starter on. I didn’t have a breaker bar handy but finally realized I could use the tire iron slipped over the end of the ratchet, and then all was right in the world. (Just sharing in case you run into a similar issue as me).

You get what you pay for honestly. A new one from Auto-zone costs $199 this one cost $60 bucks. i ordered on Jan 24, 2025 and it went right on and worked, sounded more whiny then OEM but it worked. yesterday it failed (Apr 10, 2026) and wont even turn over engine let alone start. but it got me thru a whole year for 60 bucks. so i can say i defiantly got my money worth out of it. im now in a better position then i was a year ago and can afford to get the proper part but honestly am considering just ordering another one of these.

Works great

Fit my 2000 Chevrolet S-10 perfectly. Not bad to install, but takes a bit of finesse to get it installed. No problems there. My problem? Tested the starter and it worked great on first try. Turned it off and went to clean up before taking on a test drive. Started it the second time and seemed all was well, but noticed a weird rattling/grinding noise a bit down the road. Went to turn around and turned off the truck, but noise persisted. Let off the clutch in gear and the truck was moving very slowly on its own. Starter motor was not fully disengaged! Started it back up and it did start. However, by the time I got it home, the starter motor burned up and now will not even hint at engaging. Worthless junk. Don’t waste your time on it. I’m sending it back defective and going with something else. Not even going to try it again!

They don't build them better. Copper wiring at its best. Turns the engine over without hesitation and is soo quiet.

Installed this in a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe Base 2.2L 4 speed automatic, and it's been working since. Fits well, easy install, comes with bolts. Perfect, thank you!

Exactly as described

Product came in a day early. I had it installed on my son’s 2003 Malibu and so far it’s been working good. Hopefully this one will last longer than the one I bought from a part store here in town 6 years ago the car wasn’t even daily driven and it only lasted that long.
