An Essential, Deeply Researched Guide to the Solomonic Pentacles
Sara Mastros has done a remarkable service to the magical community with The Sorcery of Solomon, bringing life, depth, and clarity to one of the least understood aspects of Solomonic magic. Her work provides a comprehensive guide to the forty-four planetary pentacles attributed to King Solomon. She not only translates each pentacle but enriches her interpretations with historical context and personal insight, making this a truly modern and accessible guide. With a strong foundation in magical practice and a scholarly approach, Mastros walks readers through exercises and rituals that make these pentacles powerful tools for personal exploration. Her carefully crafted instructions allow both intermediate practitioners and dedicated beginners to engage meaningfully with the pentacles’ magic. The book has drawn some unjust criticism, which feels unwarranted in light of its contribution to our understanding of Solomonic magic. You'll notice that none of the haters are willing to use their real names or provide actual reasons for their dislike of the book. Take that into account when choosing how you weigh their feedback. In brief, The Sorcery of Solomon is not just a “how-to” but a thoughtful work that bridges folklore, historical context, and practical spellwork. Revolutionary
Every now and then I encounter a book so extraordinary and so transformative that it makes me regret ever having spoken highly of another text, because everything else pales in comparison. Sara Mastros's "The Sorcery of Solomon" is one such book. This book is absolutely revolutionary and is essential reading for anyone who wants to understand the pentacles of the Solomonic tradition.Mastros combines scholarly rigor, magical experimentation, and a rich knowledge of Judaism to provide a perspective on the Solomonic pentacles that's never been put to print before. She provides an extraordinary amount of context about the mythic figure of Solomon and the magic that follows in his legacy--and most importantly, she situates that magic in the Jewish context to which Solomon himself belongs. Mastros provides an incredible amount of information about Judaism, Jewish magic, and the use of Hebrew in a magical context. Moreover, she shows how this information is necessary in order to really understand the magic of the pentacles. For each pentacle, she breaks down the Hebrew written on it--usually including a versicle from the Hebrew Bible and various divine names--explaining in detail what the Hebrew means and how it contributes to the pentacle's magical significance. In doing this work, Mastros makes the pentacles accessible and understandable; rather than just an obscure set of geometric figures and foreign words to copy without understanding, they become clear magical messages that draw on divine power in direct, easy-to-understand ways. This perspective is combined with Mastros's own experience as a magical practitioner, and she provides detailed instructions for the creation and consecration of a book of pentacles as well as for its use. The result is a genuine book of magic, and just about every page of this book glows with the power that she has put into it. There are a few minor typos (which the result of American proofreading software not knowing how to handle Hebrew), but those are the fault of the publisher and not the author; they certainly don't detract from the quality of the book on the whole.I cannot recommend this book highly enough. For anyone interested in Solomonic magic, this will become one of the most foundational and important books on the market.

Approacable magic in the Age of Information
Sara has absolutely outdone herself in this tome of a paperback. Each of the Pentacles is represented, (even the "shady" ones) with as full of a translation as possible, and art updated for our times, all while still being sensibly and respectfully traditional. Complete with methods on creating your own magical book, the Pentacles shine brightest when look at with a creative and artistic eye, and the author has keenly translated that examination into text. The translations are well-thought out, with fixes to mysterious mistakes and outdated concepts reworked for modern times. If you want another copy of the same unapproachable methods we have been using for centuries, buy Mathers/Skinner/etc. (which you should do anyways, if you're serious about learning) If you want an update in modern language with understandable methods, give this book a shot. You'll be surprised at how easily you can learn it, at least I was.If you've ever gazed upon a Pentacle and wanted to understand it more deeply, this book is for you.If you've ever thought Solomon's Way was too "fancy" for you, let this book graciously prove you wrong.

Author doesn’t even use the 6th Pentacle of Saturn.Lame.
This book has the magical aura of Vagisil, Tik Tok,cat pee-pee and new school Dr. Who.Weak writing, weak info.Don’t wish to elaborate but wanted to leave a 1 star review. This was indeed purchased and will be returned. I would wager the overwhelming majority of the positive reviews were written by the authors writer buddies as no one who actually practices this source material would describe this content as revolutionary, well researched or well written in any conceivable manner. Truthful criticism = negative star reviews = less Hot Pockets for the author. Only a page or so of translation regarding each of the 44 pentacles and more personal antidotes of the author than anything else.Save your money and purchase a book by Stephen Skinner (who I can only assume was asked to write a blurb to put on the back of the book,to be put besides Rankine and Peterson ,and said “Nah.I’m cool.” or Poke Runyon. Do you really want to take sorcery advice from someone who by their own admission doesn’t have experience working the 6th Pentacle of Saturn and thought it was a good idea to rewrite the Orphic Hymns ? I’m being nice and leaving it at that.

Revolutionary text on practical uses of Solomonic Pentacles
This book is amazing and an absolute must for anyone interested in Solomonic magic. Not only does it correct the many mistakes contained in older editions in relation to the spelling of sacred names contained in the pentacles, it also gives clear instructions on the practical uses of each one, something which I have not seen before and that makes this text invaluable.Sara also offers a companion course which greatly elaborates on what is contained within the text plus A LOT of stuff that isn't included. She is very knowledgeable on the subject and her joyful, humorous personality makes the classes an absolute pleasure to attend. Highly recommend.
