These are sturdy, practical cases that easily fit a standard ("Hawley") style upper retainer with room to spare. They are just slightly larger, but otherwise nearly identical to the case provided by the local orthodontist.Shopping for retainer cases on Amazon will make you crazy, so it was a big relief to get a product that had no problems and indeed seemed very well made. They are *not* glamorous but they sure are practical. The latch mechanism lines up perfectly straight, closes securely.There are two air holes in the lid (the slightly thinner half) for ventilation and to allow moisture to escape. Most likely you'd want to leave the case open to really dry completely. The bottom *might* be deep enough to "bathe" a retainer or other device in cleaner, mouthwash, or whatever. Did not try that experiment yet.Also can't comment on longterm use, wearing out or breakage as it has only been a couple of weeks. But these things really look solid, so we're not expecting any bad news. Obviously, since you get two at a time, you have a spare if one should have a problem down the road.On a unit basis these are not the cheapest cases on Amazon, not the biggest, not the smallest, not the most colorful. But we are glad for the purchase as they seem reliable and truly practical for their intended purpose, of temporary storage of a retainer in a safe place.UPDATE after two years -- if you use these a lot, open and close frequently etc. you will wear out the plastic which forms the hinge on the case. This is predictable and frankly pretty impressive, ours are not shot but the signs of plastic fatigue are there and it won't be long. If you use two and alternate between them they will last longer; if you are super lucky you might not even need the retainer all that long. Anyway I would not lower the review score, they do work as planned. Only extra comment is, you will probably want to clean them regularly because the air holes are not enough to really dry out or sanitize the interior. Still recommended.

For 2 this is such a great price!The retainer case size is great and it can fit ANY mouth guard or retainer including my very bulky shock doctor and anything smaller. Including my SD Nano and even my night guard retainers, without anything falling out like the shock doctor case.The case is a great size to hold anything. It is well vented on top, with 2 holes while fully enclosed keeping your guard protected and clean. You can attach a strap (not included) to the holes on the front of the case where you open - if you want to carry it that way. I just keep it in my bag.Sturdy well made material. Case opens and closes with ease. Stays closed when it should. Opens easily when you need it. Can’t say the same for my SD which is awkward especially when opening.I was so happy to find this great product after overpaying for a shock doctor case. I bought the shock doctor case and it was a bust barely usable for most retainers and mouth guards. It was the same price but with only 1 case and several design flaws. For SD there is a huge gap in the front which means smaller mouth guards and retainers can fall out or poke out half way with the large gap (nano). Not to mention other things like loose change and powder can get in. I’ve retired the overpriced shock doctor case for these great cases. Still love my SD mouth guards but for travel, cleanliness and portability I trust these retainer cases.

It works as advertised. It’s made of a heavy grade of material.

Can't vouch for the effectiveness of the UV light, but I'm hopeful that it works.Two issues:1. The case tends to get turned on by other objects pressing on it in my toiletries bag.2. The case charges via micro-USB, which is annoying in 2025. It's one of only a few devices I own that still use this.

Got this for the wife for her mouth guard, works great! Saves her so much time cleaning it. Definitely cleans a lot of bacteria. I might even have to use it for myself lol

I’ve had invisilign for over a year now and completed my trays about 6 months ago. I’ve had nothing but bad remarks about this case since then. The build quality is mid at best, the mirrors inside just get dirty way too easily. The charge does not hold at all and after about a week of use it just stopped working completely (you cannot refund this item either). It’s way too big to use anywhere outside of home and the UV doesn’t do anything special.I’ve used this, a toothbrush, an ultrasonic cleaner, and the tablets. By far the tablets are the easiest but that’s only because I have two trays that I swap between while one is being cleaned. Toothbrush was my go to between trays.

It’s definitely a sturdy case that will last me awhile. It’s easy to pack which is great because I travel a ton. But the power button is either too sensitive or doesn’t work well. It’s fine but I wouldn’t recommend it.
