They loved it... almost too much. Recommend!
I have a 6month old kitten. His favorite toy has been the furry attachment to "da bird" fishing pole, especially when it's not attached. He likes to throw it, bat it and fetch it. He just chewed through it after 3 months of constant play. I found Da fur thing and thought it would be a good replacement since it's made of the same stuff but designed for batting/rolling/tossing solo play. Pros: the kitten loves it. He went crazy for it for about an hour when I first unboxed it and was excited any time I picked it up. Our overweight inactive 6yo cat also had fun with it, and she's lazy and harder to get playing. It's rabbit fur, and my last toy from them was too, and when they slimed it up with cat spit and dirt from outside, I just washed it off and hung it to dry. Worked like a charm. I'm not sure if this one will clean up as well, as it has catnip inside. I tried after lazy cat slimed it all up with spit - we'll see. Cons: the kitten (he has adult teeth now) chewed through it on the first day, releasing some catnip. He chewed all the way through his last similar toy last week, so this isn't a surprise. At least Da Fur Thing is still in one piece. I'd say it's a win so far. They love it, a LOT. More than their synthetic toys, more than their wool catnip mice. They may love it so much they shred it quickly, but cat teeth are supposed to be able to cut through rabbit skin so that makes sense. I just bought a second one in case this one doesn't last. If this one ends up in pieces, that one may become a special treat toy that I put out for a bit and then hide in a drawer until next time. The creators may consider a cotton or synthetic inner fabric lining between the rabbit fur and the catnip, so the puncturing is less of an issue.

Its a hit!
Cat loves this. Tosses it in the air. Simple toy. Nice and soft. Feathers super fluffy.

Bengal cat approved
I have a bengal cat who does not get excited over most cat toys on the market. He prefers toys that stimulates his natural hunter instinct (realistic toys). He is OBSESSED with this toy. He carries it around, wrestles it, cleans it, cuddles it, and just all around LOVES it! All of that abuse and this thing has withstood the test of time. Iโm definitely impressed. He loved it so much I ordered one for both of my sisters cats and my momโs cat. They are all obsessed too. 10/10 recommend.

Cat LOVES IT
Jimi loves these and shreds them in one day. Iโd buy them all the time but he goes HAM in a day and theyโre pricey for that.

Da' Fur Thing is one of our Favorite Things
Like another reviewer, my first purchase of Da Fur Thing was for $1 on clearance at a pet store. That was about two and a half years ago and all replacements were purchased through Amazon. I do think it should be noted in the product description that this is not an item used with Da Bird, and can understand why that is frustrating to people. My cat loves this toy, he literally loves it to pieces. He carries it around, bites it, bats it around, bunny kicks it, grooms it, snuggles it, and leaves it for me as a trophy/present. The first one was white with neon green feathers and lasted about a year before all the feathers were gone, and as a piece of fur lasted a bit longer but I threw it away when it had holes and bare spots. All other purchases were gray fur, two had bright pink feathers, the other two with dark blue feathers. I prefer white fur and bright feathers so it is easier to find and not mistaken for a recently dead animal, but that is a preference that doesn't matter to my cat. The cat who loves this toy has no interest in catnip, and my cat who does react isn't interested in the toy, typical cat behavior. I still have three of the four replacements, and two of those replacement purchases were because I couldn't find the toy, not because it was worn out. I purchased and returned one in February of 2012 because almost all of the feathers came off the first day. I contacted the company and purchased a replacement at the end of March, from what I could tell the feathers are now glued and sewn to the fur for prolonged cat enjoyment. My most recent purchase was in October and that has only lost one feather, and is the longest feather life of any previous purchases, the other two still have a few feathers but have been well loved. My last comment is that the price has fluctuated quite a bit ($2.95 in May 2011 to $5.99 in February 2012) but has averaged between $4.50 to $5.00, with the current price being the highest I've ever seen, at $6.18. I'm a Prime member, so shipping isn't part of my price factor, but I'm watching the prices since having a replacement on hand isn't a bad idea.

Kitten loves it
My kitten loves it but I do notice a decrease in the catnip stuffed in the product than when I bought it years ago.
