Hob Brite Original Ceramic, Electric, Halogen and Induction Hob Cream Cleaner (300ml)

Been using this for years and this is just the latest purchase. It's brilliant, cleans immaculately without any smears. and lasts forever... well, almost.

I really like this. I have a ceramic rangemaster and this cleans the hob brilliantly. I find that used with the right cloth I have no steaks at all.

I’ve used Hob Brite on and off over the years, mainly on ceramic and induction hobs, but I recently came back to it after testing a few spray-based alternatives that didn’t quite deliver the same finish. This cream cleaner still holds up as one of the more reliable options out there, especially for day-to-day surface cleaning. It’s not a heavy-duty restorer, but it keeps things looking polished with minimal fuss if you stay on top of routine messes. The cream formula spreads easily, and I usually apply it with a damp non-scratch pad or a microfibre cloth, leave it for a few minutes, then buff it off with a clean cloth or tissue. On ceramic hobs, it works particularly well. It lifts light grease, watermarks and rings from pots left too long without any visible scratching. On induction hobs, the results are very similar—it gives a smooth finish, helps maintain that glossy glass look, and hasn’t left behind any residue when wiped thoroughly. I also used it on an older electric plate hob, and while it worked okay for the stainless steel surround, it didn’t do much for burnt-on marks around the plates themselves. That’s where this cleaner hits its limit—it’s not a degreaser or carbon remover. For really baked-on residue or burnt sugar spills, especially on halogen or older enamel hobs, you’ll still need a scraper or more aggressive product. The unscented formula is a plus for those sensitive to chemical smells. I didn’t notice any overwhelming scent even after using it in a small kitchen with poor ventilation. It’s also a bonus that the formula is described as antibacterial, though I’d be cautious assuming it’s a full sanitiser unless used as part of a wider routine. From a practical standpoint, I find it helps reduce streaks better than some cheaper glass sprays, and that alone makes it a decent addition to a regular weekly clean. That said, there are some drawbacks. If you don’t fully rinse or buff the surface dry, it can leave a chalky haze behind. This is especially noticeable on black induction hobs under direct lighting. I also find that the bottle tends to clog slightly around the nozzle if not wiped clean after each use, and since it’s a cream, it requires a bit more manual effort than spray-on solutions. It’s not the fastest cleaner when you’re in a rush, so if you’re only doing a quick wipe-down, something like HG Everyday Spray or even diluted washing-up liquid might be more convenient. But for a proper end-of-week polish, Hob Brite gives a satisfying result. I also appreciate that it doesn’t scratch, provided you pair it with the right cloth. I tested it with a cheap green scouring pad out of curiosity and that was a mistake—it didn’t damage the hob, but it dulled the finish slightly, so I’d recommend staying with microfibre or soft pads only. Over time, I’ve found it useful for maintaining the condition of the hob rather than correcting years of build-up. It works best as a preventative product rather than a deep cleaner. In all, Hob Brite is a dependable part of a kitchen cleaning routine if used correctly and with the right expectations. It’s best for light-to-moderate cleaning, especially if you’re keeping on top of spills and splashes regularly. It’s not the most powerful cleaner out there, but for ceramic and induction surfaces in good condition, it does a solid job of keeping things presentable with minimal risk of damage. If you pair it with a scraper tool and use it consistently, it extends the life and look of your hob without needing harsher chemicals.

not as good as I thought it would be, the brand I had previously was great, but I can't remember what it was. This is working ok but takes more elgrease to get cooker hob clean

A little goes a long way, but does an excellent job with not great effort or fuss.

I used this some long time ago but it’s not quite as good as it used to be. Still does a decent job but didn’t shift one stubborn mark that’s been there a while.
