Amazing Smart Gym
DISCLAIMER: I'm not affiliated with Speediance in any way, nor am I being paid for this review. After two months of owning the machine and working out every single day, I wanted to give an in-depth overview of my experience as this has honestly been the best purchase for my health I've ever made and so far has exceeded all expectations. IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE, BUY THIS MACHINE IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE! FITNESS HISTORY: I'll be 40 this year, and have been in and out of every gym imaginable over the past 15 years. I've primarily worked out with free weights the entire time, with a few months of Orange Theory, Crossfit, F45 thrown in. Although I'm fairly fit and active, consistency has always been an issue for me. I'll go 12-18 months getting in amazing shape, take a 2 week vacation or get sick, then go 6 months sliding backwards until I repeat the cycle all over again. ALTERNATIVES: Before purchasing the Speediance, I was dead set on getting a Tonal after trying one out in a local mall. Unfortunately since I live in a Condo, I couldn't risk the noise that travels through the walls which IS a major issue if you research the Facebook / Reddit groups that talk about this. With that in mind, I was debating between Speediance, Vitruvian, and Oxefit as free standing solution. I chose Speediance since it was extremely compact compared to the Oxefit (which shouldn't be a part of any home gym unless you have a huge house), and the Vitruvian only allowed for exercises from the floor (the stand accessory was canceled last year due to lack of demand). POSITIVES: The Speediance honestly blew me away when I first received it and the build quality is much better than I was expecting after reading some complaints on the FB groups & Reddit. • Size: The Speediance is extremely compact and looks amazing next to my Peleton. It literally takes up around the same amount of floor space as my Powerblock Dumbbell stand. If you live in an apartment or condo, you can put this thing nearly anywhere and barely notice it once the platform is up. • Price / Subscription: I'm lucky enough in my career where price wasn't a determining factor in deciding between which smart gym to purchase. With that said, Speediance can't be beat if you purchase now with the free lifetime subscription, and there's no world where I could ever recommend purchasing a tonal at 2x the upfront cost + $750/yr in subscription fees. It honestly feels like a steal. • Cables vs Free Weights: I've done a lot of barbell/dumbell work in my day, but honestly rarely use cable machines outside of facepulls / lat pulldowns / tricep work. I was expecting this to feel like a Bowflex which is my only real experience with cable resistance, but it's nothing like that. The best way to explain it as it's like free weights on steroids and you can feel all the stabilizer muscles working. Bench presses, squats, deadlifts etc all feel much better to me than traditional free weights. • 220lb Resistance: I'm not a powerlifter or a large guy, but am strong for my size (5'7). My 1RM for barbell work is 180lb Bench, 220lb Squat, 240lb Deadlift. Originally I was worried that I would max out this machine fairly quickly for certain movements, but the cable resistance has humbled me. When I did my first strength assessment each lift was easily 25%+ less than what I can do with free weights, aka unless you are a huge power lifter you aren't going to max out this machine. • Variety of Movements: With free weights I will normally stick to the standard compound lifts and the accessory exercises I've always known. The huge array of different movements built into the software + instructions on how to perform them has really opened my eyes on how much I was limiting myself. Workouts are never boring now, and I think this is one of the biggest things motivating me to use this every day. • Screen Tilt: This is absolutely huge and allows you to look at the screen for almost every movement. IE when I do a bench press, I can tilt the screen 90 degrees and see every rep, power, etc. This is a small thing, but makes a big difference when working out which no other machine does to my knowledge. CONS: There's truly very few cons I've found with the Speediance. • Accessories: This is honestly the only area where Speediance feels "cheap", and I'm a little baffled at what they try to sell some of the accessories for (IE Handles). I'm including a section on all my top recommended third-party accessories I recommend, and a few accessories I think you should buy through Speediance. • Cable Burn: Without the cable extenders, some exercises will give you major cable burn causing you to never do them. Again, this is solvable with the Cable Extender accessory… INCLUDE IT WITH EVERY PURCHASE. TLDR; I had much more to say but I’ve hit the character limit for a review. Buy the machine!

awesome piece of equipment, best in its class for the price in my opinin
ive had many home gym setups in my days. I was skeptical about these new electric motor, computerized gyms, but that seems to be the future, so I decided on this one because its about the lowest price of these types of home gyms, plus NO membership fees are required like Tonal and others. Space was a huge consederation for me, and this thing takes up very little space, and folds up nicely out of the way. The box is huge and heavy, so it may take some effort getting it in the house. Once it is unpacked it can be moved easy on its wheels. Unboxing is a pain, but theres hardly any assembly required other than the bench. Storing the box and packaging material is NOT easy, and GOOD LUCK re-packing it if you have to send it back!- I HIGHLY reccomend ordering through Amazon Prime AND get the warranty/product protection to avoid hassles. It is deliverd through 3rd party freight companies no matter where you buy it from, so the delivery service process will most likely lead to some rough handling during its journey. Mine came with the box somewhat beat up and had a minor part broken that didnt affect its functionality, BUT Amazon was VERY gracious on making it right from just a quick chat session without having to send it back. Doubt I would have got it handled that easy if I would have ordered it elsewhere. Prime does have its advantages sometimes! The machine has so many features, workout routines already programmed, you can customize your own routines, or just go into free mode and do your own thing. Keeps track of alot of stats and tracking to keep you motivated. Can do tons of excerises. The basic bench is quite puny but does its thing. i ordered another bench from temu that has incline/decline and a little more wider, and ALOT cheaper than the upgraded bench for this. Biggest dissapointment- the built in music. Its cheezy. The only other music option built-in is through apple which I dont have. But thats a minor ssue, i just use my cheap mp3 player and earphones and Im fine. I have had for a little over 4 months and Ive lost 15 lbs and seen a great deal of strength and toning with just a 3 day a week routine. Have had no mechanical/electical issuses with this machine so far. Time will tell. It is great for most anybody, unless you are into serious body bulding wanting to get huge- it just doesnt have the resistance for that as it only goes to 220 lbs, but none of these types of machines do. In my opinion the Gym Monster 1 basic package is the best option- the greatly added price for the Gym Monster 2 is NOT worth it. some accessories you can find cheaper and can make them work as well.

An awesome home gym, that lets a core part of the user control drag everything down
The speediance gym monster is a great piece of equipment for a home gym. But it's held back by the control ring severely. Ill start with the things it does well. Its a great home gym machine, especially if you dont have very much space for equipment. It folds away when you dont need it, its quiet, has a large variety of decent workout programs, and it provides great resistance to help you train. It comes pre assembled, and is large which can make it a bit difficult to move down stairs it shouldn't need to be moved often once its in place, so that isnt a big issue but you'll need a second person to get it into place. The one, giant issue i have with it? The control ring. It sits on your finger and you tap it to start or stop the machine, and twist the knob to the sides to adjust weight. It just... Doesnt work. I have average sized fingers for a man, but the loop is so tight even on it's loosest position that it cuts off some circulation to my finger, its awkward to press, and when you press it it often registers as a twist instead, which could be dangerous jf the machine overloaded you and you need to drop the weight quickly. I would even go so far as to say that this poorly thought out control scheme is a safety hazard, its ridiculous that it made it through product testing. If the ring wasnt so poorly implemented, this would easily be a 5 star machine, it's really too bad that they're letting a core piece of the user experience exist in such a poor state. Outside of that... It would be nice to have more music options, and to be able to connect my pixel watch to the machine so it could read my heartrate.

Well Worth it
I got this becuse I lost my wo space and was tight on space .and this was the perfect answer for me. I have owned my GM for 10 months now. I have certainly put it to good use. Using at leat 4 times a week. It has help me lose over 50lbs (alone with getting my diet in check) It's not perfect but the updates seance I got it have been great. The Free subription is a big bonus and they keep improving it. What I like the most is the customized workouts were I programe my own workouts. something about the GM keeps me motivated and is fun to use. The feedback on your lifts is great. The Only negative really are the accessories it comes with are not top notch. but I replaced with higher quality ones that did not cost that much, why only 4.5 stars for me. Not that the ones it comes with are unusable but feel cheap. Also not the biggest fan of the ring but have gotten use to it. But looks like they will.be comming out with high quality smart handles soon. 👌 Purchasing through Amazon was a perfect exoeriance . I had mine within 6 days of ordering and only paid $2150.00 shipped to my door using flash sale plus cupon. The delivery guys were really nice and ven helped me bring inside. I feel the purchase was well worth it still loving it I look forward to my tune I spend with the GM 💪

90 Days In and I still Love It
I waited for 3 months of use before writing this review. I do 4 one-hour strength training workouts each week so it's a decent sample size. Overall I would absolutely buy it again! The weight feels heavier than traditional machines or free weights. I use the eccentric mode on pretty much everything I do which increases the weight on the eccentric part of the exercise for additional muscle stimulation. I have programmed each days workout. I customize the exercise, sets, reps, weight, and rest time between sets. It makes my workouts super efficient. I pack the maximum amount of work into one hour. If you decide to change the weight for any given set it will save it for your next session. At the end of a session it will show how you compare over the last 7 days to all users (top 2% user - no big deal). I've had no glitches in the software or function of the machine. This is my main worry going forward because I expect this to last for years given the price tag. So far, so good. Delivery was a breeze. They even brought it inside my house. It comes fully assembled so you just need to wiggle it out of the box (standing up) and you can wheel the machine to it's final destination. Going up or down stairs will be a chore and another person as it weighs 250 or so pounds and is an awkward shape. It folds up really nicely against a wall for storage. A couple minor complaints. It should come with the bar holder. I can fairly easily get underneath the bar (i.e. doing a bench press) so I refuse to pay extra for the bar holder. Another shortcoming is that the cables will majorly bruise your triceps during such exercises as lying bench flys. Again, they sell an extender for like $80 to fix this issue but it should come standard. I resolved it by purchasing $15 arm sleeves (like a compression sleeve) on Amazon. It gives enough padding to avoid the bruising. A heavy sweatshirt may also do the trick. The final complaint is that 220lbs isn't enough for some people. I've already maxed out the deadlift. I don't see it ever being an issue on any other exercises. You can always do extra reps or sets to get the proper work in. It would be nice if it was closer to 300lbs though. Overall I would highly recommend this machine.

I love my Gym Monster!
Love my Gym Monster! I've been doing weight training for about a year but transportation to/from the gym has always been my personal hang-up as it's about 40 min each way. I also kept quickly outgrowing my previous home-gym free weight and resistance band set-up. I've been thinking about the Speediance for a while and decided to finally get one last week. I love it! Set up was very easy and it takes up very little space. I chose Speediance over the Tonal because the wheels make it easier to move around my apartment, I like that you can place the cables next to/perpendicular to your feet for deadlifts, and there's no mandatory subscription. I'm able to do the same workouts I've been doing with only minor adaptations for cable-only movements. It tracks my stats and lets me save custom workouts so I can keep track of my progress. I've been showing it off to my friends who have been trying it in guest mode via Open Lift. I've also been working out much more because having all the equipment at home makes it easy (also faster than the gym bc no equipment lines or weight setups!) There are free guided workouts I haven't tried yet. My impression of the ones I looked through are that they seem comprehensive if you want a bro split. I got the Works package and there's a few accessories I wish they'd included like the bluetooth handles, the barbell hooks, and the extender belt. However, none of these things have been a dealbreaker for me and I'll probably add them myself over time. Overall, this is probably my favorite thing I own and the Facebook Group community is lively and full of excellent tips.

The gold standard for a low-footprint home gym
I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking to set up a home gym in their house. For the size it is very easy to move around and reposition if needing extra space. When locked down, the platform is solid and sturdy and able to handle heavy loads. It allows for a wide range of exercises that can target your entire body, including: bench presses, weighted squats/lunges, barbell and handle curls, tricep pulldowns and so much more. The app interface can be a bit jarring at first but once you get the hang of it its very easy to create your own custom programs or follow one of the many preset Speediance programs. All in all I would

Lots of minor/moderate issues, but ultimately a solid system
Note: this is a review for the Gym Monster 1. Easy to confuse with the GM2 which is also sold from this page. In general, so far so good. A few issues worth noting: this system only works when connected to the Internet. In other words, if you are having an outage, you don't get to use your gym, sorry. Secondly, when the system goes into standby, it has internal fans that continue to run and make very audible noise, so you'll probably just turn the system on and off every time you choose to use it (there's a couple of minutes to wait each time you turn it on as it boots up, connects to the internet, etc.) Lastly, you can create custom workouts, but the total number of exercises you can add to your custom workout are strangely a very small subset of the total exercises that are present in the system in the pre-made workouts -- rather frustrating. Lastly, the new user experience is terrible, you will definitely be watching a YouTube video to understand how this thing works. But if you put all that aside, this seems to be a very robust, well built machine that will do what you want it to without requiring a monthly subscription. It is comfortable to use and quite well designed. I like that it comes with a bluetooth ring that enables you to easily adjust the weight or turn on/off the weight entirely during an exercise. In general, I feel safe using the system, and I can do any exercise I really want to do, which is the important thing.

A review after two months of use..
I’ve been using the Speediance Gym Monster 2 for over two months now and I couldn’t be happier with it. The machine does exactly what it promises, works smoothly, and feels solid and well designed. What really impressed me was the customer support. When I ordered, I forgot to apply for the gift (the BT handles). I contacted support afterward, expecting maybe nothing to happen, but they surprised me by sending not only the BT handles but also a weight belt - they care about their customers. After two months of regular use, I’ve had no issues at all. Everything works as it should and it’s become a core part of my workouts. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend the Speediance Gym Monster 2. Thanks, Speediance!

Speediance Gym Monster
Cudowne urządzenie. To, co oferuje Gym Monster, przerosło moje oczekiwania. Kompaktowa, nowoczesna, zaawansowana technologicznie i łatwa w obsłudze siłownia typu „wszystko w jednym”.
