Cool little speaker.
I bought this on impulse because I left my Anker brick speaker in the golf cart a week ago. I'll miss the Anker, but I think I found a better replacement. I had an Oontz before the Anker and enjoyed it too. I can't remember where I lost that one. This speaker is much smaller then both of those. It would actually fit in a cup holder in a car. The design is intriguing because there is a subwoofer at the bottom with side vents. There's a mesh cover on the top for the high-end work. It sends music in all directions so you never have to aim it.The touch controls are subtly marked on the side and match the comfortable rubberized surface. There is a microphone included when you change to incoming phone call mode. The moisture resistant USB charging port is conveniently located next to the controls. I would not drop it in the pool based on the security of that gasket, but I'm sure the port would stay dry if left out overnight in the rain. The sound quality is excellent. It has surprisingly good bass for such a small speaker. It will also pair with another one if you want stereo separation. This is the first Sony product I've bought in decades and I'm glad I did. They recently (05/25) knocked the price down to $40, so I may get another to try out the stereo experience on the back deck.I bought mine in Orange. Hopefully I won't leave this one in the golf cart like I did the black Anker.

Not the biggest sound, but certainly the crispest.
This was tested between a Stormbox Micro 2, a Wonderboom 2, and a JBL Go 3.This is a wonderful little speaker that’s replacing my aging Wonderboom. No, it’s not as loud as any of the others I compared it to - probably only gets about 60-70% against the Micro 2 at full volume. But MAN is that sound nice. Highs and mids are great, and the bass is good - complementary, instead of drowning out the rest compared to a lot of outdoor speakers this size. It’s not anything you’d notice at an outdoor gathering but if you really value good sound quality this beats it by a country mile. I have a sneaking suspicion these fabric covers on speakers tend to muffle the sound, because the speaker just sounds so CRISP. I played it in my yard at full volume and could hear it quite well from even 25 feet so the volume is certainly enough for my needs, but it would definitely get drowned out by other speakers. If you value really nice sound quality over pure volume, this is an easy recommendation.

Great little speaker!
My first Sony speaker. I have JBL, Bose, Klipsch, Edifier, Beats and few other brands and the Sony easily fits on the top! After a couple of days listening to all kinds of music and podcasts I can confirm what other reviews say. It’s a great speaker! I bought two to listen stereo and they sound amazing! The size is also perfect for carrying around as well as setting up at home. Battery life is great. Build quality is also really good.Highly recommend getting on (or two)!

Nice little unit for $50
For $50 and its small size, this is a pretty nice speaker. The bass and volume are quite good for its size (fits nicely in my car's cup holders), but that comes at the cost of somewhat muddied mid tones. There's no built-in EQ as far as I can tell, but the speaker actually presents as 2 devices, one with an eq intended for music playback, and another intended for voice audio. The voice audio device has better mid tones and less bass. Overall it's a good little unit, and the option to pair 2 of them for stereo is kinda cool.

Two in stereo is amazing.
If you like one, pairing two will blow your mind. I bought just one at first and it was nice. Lots of good competitors and I wouldn’t say it stood out. But pairing two in stereo mind was amazing.

Great little speaker
Pleasantly surprised with the sound. I needed a small speaker to pair up with my phone when sitting on the deck. Nice quality sound and pairs nicely with my phone. You will not let down!

Looks nice. I like the buttons. Strap is good quality. Sound-wise it leaves a lot on the table. You want small size and great sound, this isn't it. Get a Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 if you want an inexpensive, good sound, speaker in a small size.
