I brought this product as I have a bearded collie pup who is really struggling with the heat. I'd tried windows open throughout the house and fans on all night but she was still panting and restless. I try and put her in a cage at night for her own safety so finding that not only could I get a cooling product but that it would fit in her cage was great.On opening up the product I did wonder how it was going to work. It is quite thin and light. However, on hugging it, you can feel the gel inner and it really is cold. It gets cool as you hug it. Even so, I was still sceptical that it would work on my very fluffy dog... but it did. She got in her cage, had a sniff and didn't ruck it up as she often does with a blanket. Flopped down and went to sleep. I didn't hear a peep out of her all night. No panting, No shuffling about. Nothing. Just a peaceful night.She has now had several nights using it. It's been 25c here which is about as high as it gets in the UK so I'm really happy that it will work every summer.The actual pad is quite soft. The outer material is waterproof I think and looks hard wearing. Certainly her sharp little claws haven't made a dent in it. It's quite soft so although she does have another blanket in the cage, she has just shuffled it to the side to use as a pillow and lain down on the gel mat.I have the large one and it folds in half. Brilliant if you want to take it on holiday or even in the car.I've attached a photo of my very fluffy dog so you can see what kind of dog it has worked on.I'd certainly buy it again and would heartily recommend it.

Puppy loves it for sleeping as it has been hot recently however she is still teething as she is only 3 months so it is hard to stop her eating it but she has only chewed a little bit. You can see the scratches but it hasn't ripped like the other reviews said it would so good quality. I will buy again after my 3 month puppy has got over her teething phase. Also saw someone said they used it as a human. Yes if you are too hot very useful and I don't put it in the fridge it just naturally is very cool.

I've had to duct tape 2 holes, as my dogs nails have pierced it.Duct taping it has worked

Does exactly what its supposed to do really well...just used for a bulldog litter and it was brilliant...great size easy to clean lovely long lead that's covered in a hard plastic cable cover to stop chewing also great that the cable has a connector to connect/disconnect from power thars bear the pad brilliant for poking thru whelping boxes, behind pig rails and for crates. Doesnt get too hot or take ages to heat up. The pad cannot be folded it has to be kept flat and it will be fine. Highly recommend.

I have a Siberian Husky and whenever we get hot weather regardless how short lived it may be my dog suffers in this heat, this mat has proven to be a god send when it comes to keeping my dog cool and I didn't have to coax her to lay on it either. This mat is not flimsy and has a bit of weight to it, it is generously filled with gel unlike some cheaper ones, this mat is a high quality mat and well worth paying that bit extra for. I would certainly recommend this cooling mat.

When I got this out of the packaging, I thought it was great, however I soon changed my mind after feeling the mat after my dog had been laying on it for only 20 minutes. The heat from my dog had warmed the gel, so it was no longer cool. I applied pressure and movement to the mat, but it took a good 30-40 minutes for any cool feeling to return. This mat is supposed to last 3-4 hours of constant use, which is rubbish, it doesn't! Don't waste your money. Buy a prestige cooling coat instead, that really is an excellent product!!!

I cant describe how great this cooling mat is.bought it because of the hot weather we have been having lately for my dog as he struggles with the heat and he uses it all the time.while he uses it you never see him panting.my dog is a cocker spaniel and I bought him the large one which I'm glad I did because when he is laying down on it he is the full length and more of it but perfect for him.its not a cold chilling feeling from it but a nice cooling effect . just right .So nice to see him getting some comfort from it
