Yes, it spins on it's own you don't need to turn he whole unit to tighten it.

Is there any reduction in flow?

If your shower is on a mains pressurised system or a pumped system you probably will not notice any flow reduction. Mine is on a 1.5 bar pumped system and it's more than adequate (sometimes too much !). It quickly switches between deluge and hand held very easily and you can also adjust it so there is flow coming from both - this works really well if you have a high pressure system.

Can the female inlet water source be connected to shower head

Yes. These taps are quality and I’ve used several of them over the years. You shower hose will screw perfectly onto the tap which you fit on the water outlet from you shower. Honestly they are great value and you won’t be disappointed xx
