Better sleep, less trips to the bathroom
This is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. I have acid reflux frequently and sleeping on the wedged pillow was not comfortable since I’m a side sleeper. So I rarely ever used it. I was having problems with coughing at night when I go to bed with stomach acid coming up into my throat irritating my esophagus. Since I’ve been sleeping on my mattress elevator, I’ve not had that problem. I got the 7 inch incline and was afraid it was going to feel like I was being tipped out of bed, but I can’t even tell it’s elevated. I’m very comfortable when I lay down and no longer coughing as I try to go to sleep. The biggest surprise to me was my trip to the bathroom every hour or two has stopped! My bladder used to feel like it was full and I would go to the bathroom about every two hours sometimes more. I was very uncomfortable, but since I’ve had the incline, I don’t feel the urgency to go to the bathroom or the uncomfortable feeling in my bladder. I think I get up once in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I don’t have that feeling of a full bladder every couple of hours like I used to when in reality I barely had to potty. That was worth the price of the mattress elevator alone. When I put the mattress elevator under my regular mattress, I noticed no odor in it. Some of the comments made me wonder if people had put it on top of the mattress and then complained. I was a bit concerned about sliding down the bed, but that has not been a problem. However, I would not use satin sheets and a satin nightgown, the thought of that makes me laugh. Satan sheets is a good idea for the times when you get those guests that just don’t want to leave.

Fantastic product, and haven't had acid reflux ONCE since we got it!
We have had this a year now, and have had ample time to try it out. I can't believe I hadn't reviewed it yet, so it's far past time that I did. My husband and I both used to get acid reflux with our regular mattress without this elevator pad. It was so awful! I would wake up with what felt like burning acid in my mouth, and sometimes worse. My husband had his own occurrences with that kind of thing also. I had been doing some researching for a way to tilt our bed or something, so that it might help. I found this pad from a company that I already had another product from (the orthopedic support wedge pillow system I had bought for my dad), and it was such great quality, that I trusted that this would be the same, and it sure is! Now, we DO occasionally wake up having slid down the mattress a bit, but it's not enough to make any difference cause we still don't get acid reflux anymore. We have found that using flannel sheets, and wearing flannel or cotton pajamas does help not to slide down, and it is not by any means every night that it happens. It's once or twice a month, and as I said, it still has us sloped enough that the once awful issue no longer exists. We have recommended it to my in-laws because my father n law sleeps in a recliner because of his sinus issues, as well as reflux. He thinks he needs it to be even higher, but we keep telling him to try it. Maybe he'll listen one day. The Queen size 7" wedge set is perfect for us. I was worried that it would be too high, but you can't even feel that you're sleeping at an incline. In case this is something that matters, as it does to me, there is only a very very slight odor when you first open it, but by the time it fully expands, it has gone away. I am extremely sensitive to odors and chemicals, and this is another reason why I love this company, because I don't have to worry about it. All of their products are made with safer ingredients. Oh, and it took the full amount of time to expand, so please let it do that before laying on it. I can't recall exactly how long it is recommended to wait, but it did completely expand to the full size. Highly recommend!

Nice
Very solid and you definitely are on an incline. Very comfortable. I recommend this over the wedge pillow. Fits perfect for the queen. I have GERD and acid reflux really bad. Not sure if it fully stops it but it helps for sure.

YES! 100 TIMES - YES!!! So much better than a wedge pillow!!!
First of all, I was pretty pissed when this first arrived and only half of it was in the box! I got the queen, which comes in two pieces. I sent a message thru Amazon to seller - and it wasn't very nice. Short and harsh - because I was pissed! This was on a Sunday so I was surprised to get a response that same day. They apologized and said they would take care of it. They shipped the other piece the very next day and I had it within 2 days! So customer service gets an A+ from me!! This thing is a little pricey, but so far, it's worth every penny! I've been dealing with acid reflux for years and wedge pillows just don't work for me. I used a wedge for years, but I would normally slide off of it and end up with acid reflux multiple times per night. Plus, I'm a side sleeper, which is hard to do on a wedge. I would end up a lot of mornings with a kink in my neck from sleeping in the wrong position. And my doctor told me with the wedge, I was bending my body right where my problem is - making it worse. This mattress elevator is so nice because it goes between the box spring and mattress - so I get to sleep like normal again on just my mattress with my pillows! I got the 7" and it's perfect. It takes a little to get used to, but after using a wedge pillow, getting used to this was a piece of cake. I was concerned that it would get smashed because I have a huge ultra plush mattress - very thick and very heavy. Plus I'm a larger person... It might compress slightly, but not enough to matter. My only problem was my bed was already pretty high before adding this - and I'm short - so it makes it harder getting in and out of bed. I had to put a little single-step stool by the head of my bed to aid getting up onto the bed! And this this stays in place. The mattress elevator has not shifted since placing it, my mattress has not slid at all, and I have not slid at all. I am very pleased with this purchase! I would recommend to anyone with acid reflux!

Excellent for GERD/LPR, RLS, Sleep Apnea, Snoring
I bought this product in queen-size after being diagnosed with painful and potentially dangerous LPR ("silent reflux"), after years of already struggling with GERD. My doctor recommended a full-bed wedge as part of a broader plan to get and keep my acid reflux under control. He said his patients had said great things about this particular brand/product, and I bought one immediately. This product comes tightly compressed in a box that seems impossibly small for what's inside, and I followed the advice from other customer reviews to let the wedges (the queen size is actually two separate wedges) relax and "grow" to full size before putting them under my mattress. I'm a small female and had no trouble putting the wedges under my mattress once they were ready. The material stays in place once you get it where you want it, and the wedges line up together perfectly and stay that way. I put my sheets on the top mattress as usual and my comforter covers everything just fine, though of course there's no ignoring the slope the wedge creates. It was a little weird sleeping at such an angle the first night, but it felt natural within a couple of days and my nighttime acid reflux was immediately improved. There was also an unexpected benefit for my lower back and my symptoms of Restless Leg Syndrome! My sister bought one after I raved about it, and found that it helped her snoring and sleep apnea as well as her own RLS. I highly recommend this product for anyone suffering with any of the conditions mentioned in this review, but especially acid reflux-related conditions. Forget the cheaper option of a wedge pillow... it's hard not to slide down and they're bad for your lower back. A full-size bed wedge is worth the money pretty much from Day One!

Did not help with GERD, but did create back pain and a frustrating return without a full refund
I was very excited to learn about the existence of an inclined mattress support. It seemed like it would help my issues, as I have slept with various above mattress wedges, extra pillows, etc for years. When I got it, I quickly found out it did not help my GERD. The bigger issue, however, was that it was causing me to slide down my bed in the night. This feeling was very unnatural and worsened my sleep quality as I could feel the minor sliding motion and friction throughout the night. I am 6'0" and 165lbs for reference. I would wake up with back pain, which only worsened as I continued to use this product. I eventually was fed up with it, and decided to return it, which opened up a slew of new issues. Please note as THIS IS NOT WRITTEN ON THE PRODUCT PAGE: "The cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund." You cannot try this product out to see if it works without being on the hook for it. This is very annoying as I have never had this issue with an Amazon Prime item before, and again, was not mentioned once during the purchase process. This also seems like a racket to me as they recommend you place them into two separate boxes that "should be 30 x 20 x 20 (queen), or 38 x 20 x 20 (king)." Acquiring those boxes is $30-40 alone, then I get an extra amount deducted from my refund (which will be closer to the full product cost of $150 to ship two massive boxes across the country...). So what am I going to be getting in return? Hopefully more than nothing to ship these two pieces of junk back. If you decide to go ahead and purchase this, be mindful of this policy and that you 100% WANT the product. You don't want to deal with this headache of a return process. Finally, the product itself isn't anything special. It's just straight cut dense foam. The edges aren't rounded or anything, and it discolors and attracts dust/hair like any other dense foam. Maybe the 5" version is better as it doesn't make you slide down as much, I'm not sure. But if I were you and looking at purchasing something like this I would at a minimum go for a lower incline. Best of luck everyone.

Works but not with our mattress
This was great at first, then after a few months, we noticed that our brand new mattress was sagging in the middle where the two of these meet (it's not one piece), so we had to take them out. The foam isn't strong enough to support the weight of the mattress and two adults without sag (for reference, we have an Avocado spring/latex on a maple platform base). I've used it when I had bad congestion, stacking both up on top of each other on the floor and this helped me breath when I was ill.

Best option for reflux relief, stays put
I was skeptical that this would work, but I've been using it for over a year and love it. Much better than using those risers under the bed frame legs or a half length wedge. I no longer need reflux meds because of this product. Highly recommend

Can't complain
Hmmm, what to say about this after six months. I don't have any condition that requires this, but I find that if my head is higher, I get less mucus blocking my nose at night. 7" is quite the boost, let me tell you, so you will need to get a little used to it. Moving around while sleeping occasionally will make you sink down the mattress a little, so you'll need to pull yourself up now and then, but probably not often. But overall, I can't complain. It is very much as advertised. As others have mentioned, make sure the two pieces stay together for best results (otherwise you'll start rutting your mattress). And be prepared for some oxidization discoloration after a few months. But hey, it's for function, not aesthetics! Was it worth the money? Maybe. For people who need it for a health condition, I expect it's a good idea. You only need to buy it once and it's good for pretty much any bed you buy.

Zero odour and foam is nice and firm
So far so good. The foam puffed out instantly and 8 hours later I’m pretty sure it’s done. Nice and firm. And no bad smell. I’m not noticing any odour. Product arrived well packed in big box and shrink wrapped. Careful not to cut foam when cutting shrink wrap off on ends then the unrolling is easy but if you don’t cut off the ends it will get tangled up. Cut both sides first then unwrap. I expect it will hold up mattress just fine. I’m giving it till tomorrow to install. Looking forward to having elevated head. It will solve so many problems.

Excellent
Good quality. Satisfied with purchase. It has maintained shape despite heavy weight (200lbs) on bed. Comes in 2 pieces (lengthwise). I purchased this item because it is recommended for patients with autonomic dysfunction/POTS. Thanks to this item I no longer have frequent bathroom trips in the night! If you have autonomic dysfunction I suggest using risers at the head of the bed before purchasing this item in order to adjust to sleeping with the entire bed on an angle. It took a long time for me to get used to it and I had to raise the head of the bed slowly over a period of many months before I purchased the mattress elevator.

Great support at the right angle.
I bought a wedge from another company for a few dollars less but had to return it because it wasn't dense enough to support my mattress and it was all out of shape with some areas too thin in the middle and almost non existent at the bottom. I returned it and bought this one from Avana. This is some sold foam and it hold my memory foam mattress with ease along with my wife and I tipping the scales at over 200 lbs each. Glad I returned the other one, this one is stable and well made and even all the way from top to bottom.

Updated review..
Second review: the product itself is good quality, so no complaints there. However, I’ve been sleeping on it for several months and unfortunately it just doesn’t work well for GERD. I still have to use two pillows, which I was hoping to get away from. First review: I’d been looking for something to elevate the bed. This was definitely the best choice for me. I like my bed frame and mattress so I knew I didn’t want to get an elevated frame or eke water mattress topper. I think the foam is a bit expensive for what it is, but it’s still a cheaper option than a lot of other ways to elevate your bed. I’ve been using it for awhile now and my GERD is not acting up and I can finally sleep with just one pillow. My neck is thanking me. I’m 120 lbs and my partner is 165 lbs and neither of us slide down during the night.
