This might be premature, but I read Condumers Report and this purifier was highest rated as well large cleaning volume. It is big so you need to think about location, but given it purifying volume anywhere is prob ok. The only real downer was expensive filters once a year and noise at low speed. I found the purifier was very very quiet in fact a low speed I needed to put my hand over vent to be sure it was running. So long term per CR it’s great and from my experience very very quiet. It’s a serious investment, but serious purifiers seem to run $500 to over $1000 with more noise and poorer performance. Given the potential for years of service (I hope at least 10) it seems like a good investment. I have not tried all the modes arrrggghhh so many so my views might change but out of the box it’s great.

Yes its big, yes its expensive, but if works, and not just a little. We have an 65 year old house and two large dogs and 2 cats and 2 teenagers so... our house had an "odor" to say the least, also we have large open spaces. Our house is about 4,000 sqft with the great room/kitchen/livingroom being one large continuous space with very tall ceilings. Plus... did I mention our house is old, build in 1959 out of real wood, lathe and plaster, all the good stuff... but after almost 65 years... the good stuff smells... Ok to get to it... this giant air purifier works amazingly well, if you have the space, or you dont care about size, it works better than anything or any other unit we've tried. After 2 days our house has ZERO smell and the air is noticeably clean and dust free. When the dogs are playing rough, or our HVAC kicks on and puts particulate into the air, the display on the unit and indicator light changes if the air is dirty, on the first day, every time the HVAC came on I noticed it would go from 1 or 2 up to 20 or so... it automatically speeds up to clean the air, and now after several days, its only goes up to maybe 4 or 5, umits getting better and better. As mentioned all odor in our entire house (except the teenagers bedrooms, air nothing gonna fix that!) Is GONE. We had a friend who regularly is at our house over last night and she walked in and the first thing she said is "what did you do?, I've never been in your house and it not smell..." thus I decided this product was worthy of writing a review. I was skeptical to spend this much $ on a unit, though we've spent much more when you combine all the others we've tried. Sure they worked to a small degree, or if you were sitting close to them, but this is the first one that has delivered 100% whole-house odor free clean air. Its the sise of a water cooler without the water tank, so keep that in mide, but well worth it to have an odor-free house

Initially purchased an Airmega ProX and Airmega 350 to supplement our older Alen Breathesmart flex. Surprisingly, the larger ProX is the quietest of the three. It emits a soothing sound on level 2 and on level 1 it’s hard to hear it running when more than a few feet away. As someone that struggles with chronic allergies and allergy related headaches, the air feels very clean and our cat has been sleeping a short distance from the ProX due to the soothing sound. The main downsides of the unit are the filter costs and the size, however, Coway has been selling filters discounted on their website. The difference in build quality and sound compared to the 350 was enough for us to return the 350 and swap it with a second ProX for our oversized bedroom. We run both now at 24/7 on level 2 no problem, not audible during work meetings or anything.

Received this item yesterday, unpacked and put the filters in per instructions. Turned it on and there was a loud knocking sound, I know this can’t be right. Returned item, waiting for replacement, hope that sound was from a defective product because if the replacement sounds like that. I will return and request a refund. I know there’s no way that sound is normal. No way I can tolerate that awful noise.

Worked great for a few weeks and then quit working. There was no owners manual provided, and when I contacted Coway to get an answer about what to do with an E 31 error code they responded asking for video, proof of purchase, a picture of the serial number label, etc. I sent all of that and have never received a response in spite of numerous messages left by me. Product support seems to be nonexistent, so now I’ve got a big piece of junk sitting in my bedroom doing nothing but taking up space. UPDATE: After posting this review I was contacted by someone at Coway and was able to return the unit and receive a replacement, which works perfectly (at least for now). The hang up seemed to be the video they required showing the problem. We scheduled a Facetime call and with that they were able to see what they wanted to see. Still a bit onerous, but at least a process that led to resolution. Again, it's a great item when it's working, quiet and efficient.

I have a couple air purifiers that claim to work but really don’t. I live in an apartment with two air quality monitors one expensive and the other not so expensive but tells me what I need to know. So, after a few years using the unsatisfactory air purifiers I decided to purchase this unit ONLY because Consumer Reports gave it high remarks (I subscribe to CR and read the report). After using Coway Pro for a few weeks now the unit is just plane awesome. Now granted it is rather large for an apartment but I don’t care IT WORKS!!! Finally! One that works!. My apartment as a norm has no oder but occasionally fireplace smoke from the neighbors is noticeable but not now with the unit. The best win is my next door neighbor smokes and occasionally I can smell it but NOT NOW! My monitors are always in the green and hover around 0 to 1. The Coway Pro is very very quiet and has yet to increase the fan in auto mode it works so well. I really love this thing Consumer Reports was correct here. Update April: Three months in and still loving it. Occasionally I place it into turbo mode which will run for about fifteen minutes and then automatically default back to original setting. I love this feature since I really don’t want it to run in turbo mode for an extended period of time without my intervention. This ProX unit is so efficient that in turbo mode the air has been cleaned in about five minutes. Update June 2025: Had it for over a year now and yes, still loving it! I really have nothing more to add except I plan to purchase another for a different location. Well made, very quiet, still going strong as new.

We have a number of different air cleaners in the house and felt the need to get something more powerful. This is the best air cleaner we have ever had. There is such a wide area where the machine takes in the air. It's at least 2 feet x 1 foot and there are these 2 feet x 1 foot vents on both sides with separate air filters for each vent. The fan is very powerful so it takes in the air fast. However, the most amazing thing is THIS MACHINE BARELY MAKES A SOUND ON AUTO CONTROL. For the size of the machine and the amount of power it has I was sure I was going to have to put it in basement where I would not hear it but I CAN ONLY HEAR IT WHEN IT GET UP CLOSE TO IT. Way to go Coway. I am sure the air has changed in our house already and it has only been a day. We highly recommend it.

This is a terrific air purifier. It is easy to set up and run. I love that it has an air quality monitor. The air quality in Minnesota right now is terribly unhealthy because of the Canada wildfires. This morning the air quality monitor showed the indoor air as unhealthy and in the read. The 2.5 particulate matter showed as high as 70. I turned the purifier on high and in less than half an hour the air quality was safe and in the green and measuring 32.
