Out from Boneville: A Graphic Novel (BONE #1) Paperback – February 1, 2005

Jeff Smith's Bone is a wonderful adventure story that can be enjoyed by all ages. Many of its characters are cartoonish in both personality and appearance, but they are still easy to root for and care about. This volume manages to tell a compelling story and weave interesting mysteries while still filling the story with great humor bits and introducing several compelling mysteries that will want to make you read the next volume as soon as possible.This version of Bone has been colorized, and it looks wonderful. While reading it, it is hard to imagine that it was once in simple black and white. Although it is slightly larger than a typical book, it is still small enough to carry around and can easily fit into a purse or a backpack.I would highly recommend introducing Bone to reluctant readers. Although it is a comic rather than a novel, the writing is top notch, and its story should be able to ignite a love of reading in many children. One word of warning: because Bone is highly addictive, you probably won't want to stop at just one volume. It's perfect i bought this book because I remembered it from my child hood. I loved going to school and getting to see the book fair being set up in the library. Thank you so much for taking such good care of the book. It's in perfect condition. I've yet to find a thing wrong with it.

Let me just say...I love this series. Currently I'm a 20 year old gal who used to read this when I was still in elementary school. For some reason last week this popped into my head and I had to buy it. I DO NOT REGRET THIS CHOICE AT ALL. When I was younger we had this beautiful library in my little town where I'd spend most of my time. It was a safe haven for me and even when I think about it to this day my heart yearns for that feeling again. I know it sounds dumb but I've always gravitated towards libraries and books. But this was the place I first found this series, so not only does the story line and art work bring back the nostalgia, but the feeling I had as a younger girl in the library floods back as well. Now that I'm older, it's really nice and humbling to be able to appreciate how much detail and precision went into the artwork and story line of this graphic novel. This is probably the only book I've read in a graphic novel format in my life, but I'd recommend it for anyone of any age group. Yes it does contain smoking and innuendos, but if I can read it in elementary school so can your kids.
