![The Magic Sword: Quest For Camelot [DVD] [1998]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51dzvTk3lZL.jpg)

Product Description The legend of King Arthur is provided with a further instalment in this musical animated adventure. When Arthur's (voiced by Pierce Brosnan) fabled sword, Excalibur, is stolen by Lord Ruber (Gary Oldman), plucky young Kayley sets out to retrieve it. She is aided in her quest by handsome blind servant Garrett (Cary Elwes) and a two-headed, Elvis-singing dragon, Devon (Eric Idle) and Cornwall (Don Rickles). Together they battle to save Camelot from the evil Ruber. desertcart.co.uk Review Following their animated/live action hit Space Jam, Warner Bros. jumped into the fully animated feature competition by playing it safe, giving the Arthurian legend a conspicuously Disneyesque facelift. Ingredients from Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Pocahontas are evident in the tale of a girl named Kayley (Jessalyn Gilsig) whose father, a Knight of the Round Table, is killed by Sir Ruber (Gary Oldman), a maniacal brute who steals Excalibur and threatens to seize King Arthur's Camelot. Kayley enlists the blind, reclusive knight-aspirant Garrett (Cary Elwes) to brave the Enchanted Forest and retrieve the magic sword, and their adventure is (of course) fraught with danger. Adding extra punch to the movie's commercial appeal, the soundtrack songs are performed by big names like LeeAnn Rimes and Celine Dion. And if that's not enough to hold a kid's attention, there's a two-headed dragon ("we're the reason cousins shouldn't marry") voiced by Eric Idle and Don Rickles. With so much talent involved, it's entertaining but uninspired, although cleverly harmless riffs from Dirty Harry, Taxi Driver and other movies spice up the adventure with enjoyable pop-culture references. --Jeff Shannon Review: A classic - One of my favourite films ! Nostalgic Gold
I bought this film as an impulse buy after coming across it on here and remembering how much I loved it as a child, and it did not disappoint. Yes the story does obviously differ from the real King Arthur legend, but it's an animation film meant for entertainment purposes so there's no problem with that in my opinion. The way that the characters are portrayed and voiced (especially the character of Ruber voiced by Gary Oldman) is amazing and the songs are extremely catchy and well written. I love the humour as well, with many pop culture references and some slightly more mature jokes thrown in here and there. I would recommend this film to anyone with young children as it's a great film to keep them occupied and can also help get them interested possibly in the history that inspired the story. Overall if you can get past the typical cinematic plot holes and can stand child-friendly entertainment, then this is a great family watch.

Awesome even though i'm 16
Far superior to the disney offerings, this brilliantly animated movie follows the adventure of a beautiful girl as she sets off on a quest to recover the magical sword of Excalibur which has been lost in the forbidden forest. But on the way she ends up facing dragons, ogres and an evil ex kinght of the round table who is desperate for power and the kingdom. Loosely following the arthurian legends and a story called The King's Damosel, Quest for Camelot brings music, animation and a superb vocie cast together to form this movie.I watched this movie multiple times and i still don't get bored of it, an awesome movie, one of the best animated films i have ever seen.

Cheesy, but family fun.
Let me tell you, hearing a 6 year old singing along to "If I Didn't Have You" from this film makes me burst with pride. I don't know what it is about the older films that captures kids even more than what recent films do, but may it long last! Catchy songs, characters you fall in love with, and not to mention Cornwall and Devon, the two headed dragon! I want one myself. Really is a DVD that is perfect for any occasion and for any member of the family.

I have loved this film since I was a child and I ...
I have loved this film since I was a child and I still love it now. It is full of wonderful songs and amazing characters that you want your children to look up to. The protagonist of this story is a girl who longs to break the gender constraints of her society and become a knight and along her journey to achieving that dream she meets another want to be knight-garret who's dreams have been crushed due to an accident that has left him blind. But they are able to defeat the sexism and ableism of Camelot and prove to be the best knights of the kingdom.

Seller was very unhelpful and now willing to fix the problem. This seller is out to make money off you and not inform you at all. This DVD will not play on any Canadian DVD player. Do not buy!!!!!!!! They should not be allowed to sell to Canadians if they know it will not play in Canada!! Very shady business!!!! Absolutely disgusting business!!!
