We have this American Style Freezer although I have to admit that we didn't purchase it from Amazon as a local retailer in our small town (amazing (Wimborne Dorset)) not only offered to beat the price of Amazon, but also that of any main stream internet supplier. With an offer like that and a reduced price, we purchased from them.So what do you get? Well quite a lot for the price. First off, it appears to be well made, the outer metallic case appears to be very sturdy and is easy to clean. Internally the plastic is pretty good, but as this is a budget model, I do anticipate the freezer drawers may break as they have on every single freezer we have ever owned with this type of drawer. Metal baskets are best; but if we get 4-5 years from each one, Samsung will provide you with replacements within the warranty period or for a reasonable price.Both the freezer side and the fridge side cool the food as you would expect. The fridge though is the part which has auto defrost and I must admit to preferring to pay a little more for the freezer to do the same, however, at the price we were offered this item for, we decided to cope with the chore of cleaning the freezer periodically. All in all that element keeps the food chilled or frozen.The really nice thing about this budget model is the fact that it dispenses water and ice, which is why we bought it; our original fridge freezer is still working, but it is a pain to get the ice cubes out as the drawers are broken! This unit dispenses both ice and water in copious amounts. The only thing is that the unit needs to be plumbed in (as most of them do) - normal domestic outlet and you do need to change the filter every 6 months (as most of them require) and these cost around £20.00; I haven't purchased one yet, but I have done some research and see that the cheapest generic model is available for £13.00 and the Samsung badged model is £27.00.So a 5 star review. No it isn't perfect and no it isn't the same as a high end model in terms of its efficiency or interior build quality, however, for the £749 that we paid, delivered and installed, it represented good value and worthy of its rating.
