My use: I got this for using against wasps that have taken up home in the roof (made from pot pan tiles) of an outbuilding I use. After just having some roof work completed I didn't like the idea of having to get pest control in to then move all the tiles and try and work out where the wasp nest was. Scent: The scent is strong and although I diluted it, I left it stronger than recommended to try and get rid of the wasps extra quick. I quite like the scent as it is fresh and citronella is easily notable, therefore if you have to spray it in close proximity it's fine (unless you don't like citronella). Effectiveness: I'd observed where the wasps were coming in and out of and not only sprayed it directly on the tiles and in the gaps where they were coming in and out of, but I also sprayed it on some cotton wool balls so they were soaked and popped them in the gaps under tiles. This way even if the other solution was washed off with rain, the scent would remain. I have seen no effect on the wasps whatsoever and the most effective my spray bottle has been is when I used it to hit and kill a wasp directly. (It's worth noting that I didn't use the tiny atomiser bottle that comes with the product but that I used a washed out glass cleaner sprayer). Value: The scent is as strong smelling as they claim and therefore you do get a few dilute spray bottles worth, however, I found it ineffective. Maybe if it were sprayed in areas wasps had been in the past it would prevent them from resettling, but once a queen has taken nest I think it's unlikely this will dissuade her and the drones. I might try spray this around my studio to try and make it less appealing to mice (as they apparently have a strong sense of smell), although to date extra strong garlic powder hasn't worked (most likely because they have young in a nest so won't abandon them). Alternatives: I also tried foam wasp killer spray which does kill the wasps but is expensive. Also the foam disappears quite quickly so unless a whole load of wasps come out and touch it it's going to have a limited effect. What worked better is high-vis wasp killing traps filled with a paste of jam, diluted in hot water and white vinegar. The traps were full of wasps and trapped and killed a lot more in a short and longer space of time than anything else. Also for anyone thinking it's better not to kill them as they are pollinators, so are other insects like bees that the wasps kill to feed to their young. When using white vinegar in traps it only attracts wasps, hornet and flies. I didn't hold out much hope with this but we had wasps gathering around our eaves. A couple of sprays (with a supersoaker) and they disappeared in a few days. Never came back.

Purchased for holiday for repelling wasps when eating outside at our apartment. Did not work AT ALL! Tried spray and putting on cotton pads. It made no difference to the amount of wasps that showed up. The smell is quite pleasant but it was completely ineffective. A waste of money.

This oil is absolutely amazing! Not only does it keep away the unwanted buzzies, but all the flies too! Every morning and afternoon, I spray around my back door and patio door. All across the fence that is near to the back door. And hey presto... nothing that flies comes near. It really works and I'm happy using a deterrent rather than harsh chemicals that are bad for the environment, my longs but most importantly, very dangerous to use with my little doggy who likes to gey her nose in everything! Worth every penny!

I was really hopeful about this wasp, bee, and hornet repellent because it is advertised as 100% natural and concentrated enough to make over 10 litres of spray. The idea of a natural solution that could keep insects away safely seemed perfect for outdoor use, especially around my garden and patio. Unfortunately, in practice, it didn’t live up to expectations. Even after following the instructions carefully and applying it generously to the recommended areas, I noticed very little change in insect activity. Wasps and bees were still frequenting the areas where I had sprayed, and in some cases, it seemed completely ineffective. I also found that the preparation process, while straightforward, was a bit messy, and handling large amounts of the solution was cumbersome. While I appreciate that it is natural and non-toxic, which makes it safe to use around children and pets, the lack of actual results makes it frustrating. For anyone who needs a repellent that reliably keeps stinging insects at bay, this product is disappointing. It might work in very mild situations or as a mild deterrent, but in my experience, it did not perform well enough to justify the effort or cost. Overall, it is a safe and eco-friendly product, but it does not deliver the effectiveness I was hoping for. I cannot recommend it if your goal is real, noticeable insect control.
