Fine sword
Feels sturdy enough for battle and looks nice enough to display. It's my first katana so I'm not expert but I can tell the basics of the sword are good. No rattle, locks into the sheath as it hits the guard, slides out freely, and is mostly made of sturdy materials. I did notice a bit of plastic which is disappointing but it's a small asthetic flaw. No loss to function of the sword. For the price I'll likely buy another one. Very pleased.

Impressive craftsmanship
I recently purchased a samurai sword from Amazon, and overall, I am quite pleased with my experience. The sword arrived promptly and was well-packaged, ensuring it was protected during shipping. The craftsmanship is impressive, with attention to detail evident in both the blade and the handle. The steel used for the blade has a nice shine and feels sturdy, while the handle is wrapped securely, providing a comfortable grip. The balance of the sword is also commendable, making it easy to wield. One aspect I particularly appreciated was the authenticity of the design, which reflects traditional samurai sword-making techniques. The intricate detailing on the blade and fittings adds to its aesthetic appeal, making it a great display piece as well. However, it’s important to note that while this sword is visually stunning and functional, it is primarily suited for collectors or enthusiasts rather than for practical use. As with any collectible, care and proper maintenance are crucial to keep it in good condition. In summary, if you’re looking for a beautifully crafted samurai sword that serves as an impressive display item, this one is worth considering. Just be sure to manage your expectations regarding its practical applications.

Quality
I was a little worried when the sword arrived because the box was open and the sword had been removed from the box at some time. The sword was out of the box about three to 4 inches and when I tried to push it into the box to carry it inside it was hitting something and would not go in. I took it into the house and took it out of the box. It was not wrapped in the cloth cover that I had seen on videos of people whom had also bought it. It was covered by an open plastic bag. When I took the wrap off and inspected the sword I was slightly surprised by the weight. It is not a light weight cheap sword. It is a nicely balanced substantial sword. Great quality and absolutely beautiful! The blade comes with a greased coating and when I wiped it off the blade was gorgeous! I was not expecting the quality of sword that I got! Going by the price I was expecting either the blade to be really light weight or cheap feeling. It was not. The colors are also beautiful! The design was really great! I would definitely recommend this sword!

Great sword overall!
It’s a great sword, it feels amazing. It’s not too heavy and you can swing it fine. If you drop it, it will fall straight down bringing great balance to it. And it is extremely sharp. My only complaint is that it is a little hard to unsheath the sword at first, but if you sand down the bottom of the sheath it becomes much smoother.

Wonderful for the money
It came faster than expected! I ordered it on a Monday, and it was expected to arrive that following Saturday. To my surprise, the blade arrived Wednesday afternoon! That was wonderful to come home to. The blade looks just fine. I’m not an expert or anything. It was packaged very securely, and it comes with a wrap, similar to a gun sleeve, to protect the piece as a whole. It’s not the sharpest thing in the world, which wasn’t my priority. I like knives and things, so naturally I had to add a katana to my growing list of things. It’s a gorgeous sword. The weight, as I’ve never held a sword before, seems fine. It was meant to be a two-handed weapon anyhow. I can’t say much on the quality, as, again, I’m not an expert. Sturdiness as well, I’m unsure. I don’t plan to use it to cut things or to practice any type of swordsmanship. If you want to do that, I recommend a higher dollar sword, preferably from a shop specializing in swords made for active use. The handle is wrapped well, the saya is gorgeous, and it came relatively quickly. For 60 dollars, that to me is beyond satisfactory. I highly recommend this to anyone who wishes to own a katana for aesthetic value. I do, however, have a few tips for anyone owning a sword like this, or any, for any purpose. I did a decent amount of research on care for blades. I know guns need to be oiled ever so often, even if they’re not in use, and that you need to take care not to get them wet, not to touch them with your hands, etc. Most people who own katanas, both collectors and those who are practicing swordsman, seem to favor sewing machine oil for their blades, as it’s not too intense. They recommend applying oil to your blades every six months, more often if you live in a wet/humid area. When carrying the blade in its sheathe, it’s better to carry it with the sharp side up to keep it from rubbing the sheathe and dulling faster over time as you draw it out. Be mindful of this. And again: don’t just put your hands all over the blade! Only if you’re cleaning it or intend to clean it after. It will corrode it so much faster, especially if you have naturally sweaty or oily skin. That is all. Highly recommend this as a gift to anyone you know who loves knives/swords (and that can be a gift to yourself too :) )

this katana is amazing. sharp, swift, and looks amazing. its not to heavy, but its in the middle of light and heavy weight. great quality, and the sheath has a tight grip on the sword. only problem is the things holding the rope together pops out sometimes, but you can just put it back in and it doesnt undo the not. amazing katana!
