Is anyone’s pivot seem a bit rough when opening/closing? It’s almost like there’s grit in it.

The answer is no , possibly the pivot has gotten dirty . You’ll probably have to oil the pivot and Work the joint (open & close it). If that doesn’t do it , you’ll have to disassemble it, clean & oil the joint and reassemble it . If this doesn’t do it - send it back under warranty to be repaired or replaced.

what type of blade is this, drop or clip point?

I’ve heard it described both as a drop point and a modified warncliff. I have several and consider the blade shape as a good one.
