Great product. Attracts many, if not all flies to it but does a good job for a domestic item. Good value for money.

I've had an electric fly zapper for a few years now but tend to have to replace them after a year or so. The last one I bought only lasted a year, I thought it was the bulbs so replaced them but it still didn't work. I came across this and decided to give it a go. Had it about a week now and I was wondering if it had actually zapped any flies as I had not heard the 'usual" zap. It is working and the zapper is so quiet you can hardly hear it much to husband and dogs delight who used to jump out of their skins with the last one when it zapped a bug!! Well worth the extra money.

Very effective when put in the right place - had it in the kitchen window, not very effective, moved it to the hallway (no window), left all the doors open downstairs. Very very effective. During the heat snap we just had it proved itself no end - we live in a rural area so flies are inevitable. Very impressed. Dark UV bulb doesn't appear to work - I had returned it as a result. Very communicative and friendly support staff - turns out u can't see that the darkened bulb is on - they provide a UV card to check it is still working. A bit fiddly as you have to ensure the other bulb is unplugged to check the darkened bulb works. No way of knowing if the darkened bulb has blown without going through the process described. I can live with this issue.

Did not work at all. Flies would go inside and walk all over the light bulbs and the metal and never get zapped.

We have had our unit 3 months and it just stopped working! However, both bulbs had blown, putting in the spares it was back in action. Checking what to do and i see the specs for bulb life is 2,500hr which as ours has been on 24/7 is to be expected. It is a fact that 'special' spectrum fluorescents have relatively short lives and affordable LED just do not cut the mustard a these wavelengths. So that said our unit has done a fantastic job at a similar price as fly spray over that time. We have cluster flies in our old house which become zombie flies in the winter. Flying in your food, your tea, your face, into your monitor and then dying on your desk and all the window sills. This unit placed high in the landing/loft area has made a 90% reduction in annoying flies with most of them ending up in the fly tray which in peak time was overflowing once a week. Only downside is the zapping noise as they meet their maker and a baking smell from the fatter ones - our loft area is now the flies "The Green Mile" - haha!

This replaces an old unit which had simply packed up. This unit is used in the home and looks stylish, less industrial and is so much quieter and more effective than the old unit. I love it and so do the plant gnats until they don't! [UPDATE 12 MONTHS ON FROM ORIGINAL REVIEW] Unfortunately this unit failed within 12 months even though I replaced bulbs at the 10 month stage. As it costs twice as much as a similar product with a higher customer rating I have now had to replace it that unit instead.

Very efficient

Due to it's mesh and electruction range design, the flies stick to the surface and stay there. Then the fly becomes a conductor and constantly gets electrocuted, then as a result it gets burnt and releases very putrid smell of burnt skin and gunk. This penomenon won't stop until the fly is fully burnt to crisp and it will make the room and even adjacent rooms to stink badly. I like how this zapper is a seemingly exclusive design not just a copy, but this mesh really needs to be redesigned and the range of the arc increased so it attacks the target before it lands on the mesh and gets stuck to it. This would probably make it more noisy, but honestly it would be still a better scenario than the flies getting grilled in my room and stinking so badly.

Heb dit product gekocht omdat ik wat last had van vliegende insecten in huis. Meteen aangesloten en boven op de kast gezet. Hij maakt een zeer aangenaam zapp geluid als er een insect tegen aankomt. Binnen 1 dag had hij al meer dan 60 insecten afgemaakt. Zeker een aanrader.

Aufgestellt, angeschlossen, schlafen gegangen ... ... und zum Geruch von frisch geröstetem Kaffee aufgewacht. Naja, war kein echter Kaffeegeruch - riecht aber ziemlich genau so. Die ganzen lästigen Fliegen am Katzenfutter hat er weggebrutzelt. (Kater ist alt/krank und braucht ständig Futterangebot, was Fliegen bei zugleich offener Terrassentür toll finden - jetzt nicht mehr :-) Zur Wirkung gegen Mücken oder wie lange die Röhren halten, kann ich nichts sagen. Ausleeren der Fangschale klappt aber auch prima. Und ist das Gro der Fliegen erst einmal beseitig, brzzzt es halt nur noch ab umd an und riecht (leider?) kaum noch nach geröstetem Kaffee...

Compré este producto porque buscaba algo que tuviera buena estética sin perder efectividad, porque en casa aparecen mosquitos y otros bichos volantes. Y después de unas semanas en casa, el producto funciona y muy bien y estéticamente se puede colocar en muchos lugares de la casa. Todo bicho volante que ha aparecido ha acabado frito. Se escucha un sonido característico y ya está. Luego en la bandeja para restos se encuentran el bicho carbonizado. Los dos tubos atraen a los bichos, y he visto que si lo colocas en una habitación con poca luz en poco tiempo se tiran de cabeza a la resistencia electrificada. Es más grande de lo que aparenta en las fotos. De anchura se parece mucho a los profesionales que hay en comercios, aunque este es más bonito. Lo recomiendo
