Reasonable price, easy to use, leaves hair beautifully colored and soft.
I first bought this cream several years ago as a test because I can't use regular hair dye due to allergic reactions. I really didn't want to mess with the whole process of turning henna powder into a cream in order to dye my hair, so this ready-made product seemed worth a try. I've been buying it ever since! I LOVE the results I get with this. I use the mahogany, as it is closest to my original hair color. I've tried the "red", and for me, it seemed a little too un-natural. I have shoulder length hair, and I can usually get at least 3 colorings out of one bottle. (When my hairdresser does my hair, though, she uses a full bottle!) The henna also acts as a conditioner, and my hair always comes out so soft after I color it.The cream is thick enough that I don't have to worry about it dripping while I apply it. I usually do it standing in front of the mirror in my bathroom so I can see what I'm doing. Even when I do drip onto the sink or my skin, it washes away easily with water. After applying and leaving it in for 1-2 hours, I rinse it out as much as possible. Do be aware that your rinse water will continue to be slightly red even after rinsing for quite some time. Also, more color will continue to rinse out each time you wash, as henna is not a "permanent" hair dye. But even with this, I haven't found it to wash out to where I'm unhappy - the color just gets more mellow and closer to the brown strands in my original hair color. I use this to color the silver in my hair, so I'm not trying to change my hair color, just "get rid of the grey." It covers the silver/grey beautifully, and softens it so it blends in with the rest of my hair.It will also get on your towel if you wrap your hair after bathing, but I've found that the small amount that soaks into the towel washes out when I run the towels through the washer. I do try to use my red towels, or an old towel I don't care about just in case, but it probably isn't needed!Basically, if you're looking for a hair dye that is easy to use and doesn't have the chemicals that normal hair dye has, this is a great product!

Patience. Grey root instruction.
I have used Surya cream of various colors for decades after giving up on powdered hennas. I am post-menopausal with mid-back length naturally grey hair and have done this routine weekly since I has 18. I know my way around all manner of hennas.True henna is Lawsonia. It is copper, period. Other colors come from mixing plants like indigo and cassia into the formula. They are all generally refered to as "hennas."My hair grows super fast. I start showing what appears to be a balding part (but is actually white hair) after about 5 days. The bottle for this product is TINY and expensive. Once upon a time it was slightly larger, but no more.If you get a bottle online and the product appears thick or old, it is still usable. It can be thinned with a little water or argan oil.The length of my hair is "dyed in the wool" and will never be anything but the copper of henna build-up. Works for me because I was chestnut/copper as a kid.The white roots are the issue. I have experimented extensively. What works best for me is a chocolate or dark brown at the root left on for at least 20 minutes. Then copper or mahogany put on 40+ minutes to condition the length (generally just where heat tools are used, but all over monthy or so.)Why? The roots start out white. A red-only color at the root looks "hot" and very un-natural. Browns tone down the hot root and make then look real. It all blends together if I comb root color through reds after about 20 minutes. The chocolate mellows quickly into chestnut, often immediately. Dark brown takes a bit less time or a more thorough washing. But I buy whatever color I can get ahold of for less money and deal with it.If left on too long, the excess brown may darken my hair too much until the first wash. Then it looks perfect until roots show again.Another strategy is putting chocolate or dark brown both at root and throughout in the underneath hair while also putting mahogany or copper in the top layers. That also looks more natual.Patience is key with ANY plant-based dye. Leave it on. A long time. Hours if you have them.I loved powdered henna in my youth, but you have to soak it overnight with vinegar in an iron container to get best results. And it makes an smelly green mess. I am now too lazy to deal with it.But if you have more time than money, use the powder. The results are amazing (rinse powdered product thoroughly or hair will feel dry.) I now use the pre-prepared cream because it is less fuss.

EASY APPLICATION
Hi guys, usually I colour my hair with "normal" henna powder-wich is always a big mess. This is A LOT easier and the colour looks good! I wish it would last a little longer, but I think, if you listen to the tip not to wash your hair for three days after colouring, and then using cold water, it might last longer. Good product over all!

If you want easy this is the kit
Most henna dyes require mixing of the product to use, but not this one. Being already mixed in an applicator bottle makes this product the easiest to use.The color comes out balanced and beautiful, and without the strong earthy odor that is the hallmark of henna dyes. If your hair is longer than shoulder length or is really thick, you might want to get two kits for proper coverage. This kit does not contain gloves for the application process nor a hair cover. Get gloves, or your hands will be red from the dye for days.
