Cliff Top Extended Hella(Din) to Standard Cigarette Lighter Adapter + 3.3 Amp Dual USB Charger (Not Suitable for Cars)

The cylinder came out of the cigarette lighter chargers plastic housing after first use rendering the product completely useless which clearly demonstrates the poor build quality.The waterproof cap supplied is small, you really have to force stretch it to place it on the USB charger. The hanging off ring on the waterproof cap is also too small, it gets in the way when plugging the USB charger in the cigarette lighter port. Therefore, it cannot be used when the USB charger is plugged in the cigarette lighter port, rendering it useless; unless you want to carry it in your pocket all the time?All 3 items are clearly NOT designed as ONE unit to serve a purpose; Cliff-Top have taken 3 individual products & turned it in to a charging solution which fails to work as a unit all together.See attached image

Our caravan is an Eriba and has Hella/DIN 12v sockets. We prefer to stay on caravan sites on farms with no electric hook-up points and we have a solar panel to keep our leisure battery charged. Like many people, we now have quite a few electronic devices that need to be regularly charged (namely Garmin running watches, smartphones, Kindles, iPod). All of these items charge via USB leads.12v car "cigarette lighter" USB socket adaptors are freely & cheaply available. The missing link in the chain is an adaptor from DIN socket to "cigarette lighter" socket. This item performs that function. The quick story is that it works just fine! The quality seems reasonable although I've only used it for a single week so far.I have two dual "cigarette lighter" USB socket adaptors, so using this Cliff-Top adaptor I can charge 4 devices at once. Be aware of the current you are drawing from the socket. Our caravan socket is rated at 120w (i.e. 10 amps) so the charge load is not excessive.

This adapter is one the best I’ve used.Being used in a 24v lorry, these types of adapters naturally burn out over time; but this adapter has lasted over two years now and is still going strong.The connection in to the hella plug is tight and secure, while the components used to make the product are of an excellent standard.You really do get what you pay for with these type of connections and this item fits the bill perfectly.

Not much to review here, other than the fact that it works as intended. I'm using it to run air pumps etc. from the Hella plug fitted in my motorhome.

Weak cable. After a while has stopped working due to bad connection. Cant find anywhere on site to submit fault.

Great device to connect my sat nav to the stupid connector found on most BMW motorcycles.

I bought this adapter to power up my old Garmin Sat Nav unit from my Triumph Tiger 800 which has Hella power accessory outlets. It certainly does the job.The only criticism is with the Hella end of the adaptor, which is a bit wobbly due to the design of Hella plugs not with this adaptor.As a solution to connect the two different plug types it works well and I would recommend it despite the Hella plug end being a bit wobbly.

Excellent purchase. I bought this for my motorhome as we have a DIN socket in our kitchen area that we would not otherwise be able to use. We've been able to charged phones, run fans etc., without having to trail wires from the cab area. I'm so glad I found out about this little gadget.
