hygger 500W Submersible Aquarium Heater with Digital Controller, Auto Shut Off Fish Tank Heater for 66-132 Gallon Freshwater/Saltwater Reef Tank

These heaters are the best I've ever used . I have 3 fishtanks that have these heaters and love the digital feature, accuracy & the warning features on these. I can't tell you how many times I went to do water changes and forgot to keep the heater below the water line. The Hygger immediately sounds an alarm to let you know. Also if the temp in the tank goes high or low from the desired setting it sounds an alarm . I had a problem with one of my heaters & Hygger immediately resolved the issue.

I bought this just a little over a year ago for my 40 gallon tank from the 1990’s with the stamp on the side that displays “Made in the USA”. This heater has more wattage, 800W, than I needed for this tank but I didn’t want to overwork it so it would fail, and I had no problem paying more for it. Well, that didn’t work out like I planned. It just started shutting down thinking the water temp was too high!. It’s alarm woke me up in the middle of the night, so I unplugged it and dealt with it the next day. Since then, I’ve unplugged it several times, only for it to fail again and again. I cleaned it thinking that may have been a contributor…Nope!! So I put it in a bucket of ice water, and after an hour, it thought the water was too hot, though the temp reading clearly showed it wasn’t. These pics are not from that day. This last time that I unplugged and tried to reboot it, same failure. As I’m writing this, the thing is beeping at me again, so it’s toast!! I don’t know the country of manufacture, but I’d guess China. Whichever, it’s not built to last and a 40 gallon tank was too much for it to handle. Built this way by design to fail past the warranty, or just built to become cheap and disposable. Regardless I’m buying a different brand at the local store.

I was unluckily got an defective device, i was angry writing a bad review about the product because I thought I wouldn’t get anything back anyways. But I hasn’t thought about nothing is perfect, will have 1% defective, and nobody knows until we try.Hygger company take very good care for all of their customers which we need the most.For me, whichever company provide a great customer service, I’ll come back for all my life. The heater is massive but works very well. The temperature gauge is pretty clunky but the range you can set it at is quite impressive.

This product is amazing but the first one we (my family) received was defective. However, a quick message to customer service got us a brand new one! Customer service was even understanding when we needed a different one as We messaged about the wrong wattage! They are so generous and helpful in connecting with customers! I will always go with their products!

This failure tripped a ground fault breaker. Tank temperature went very cold and killed all my fish and corals.

Bought two of these in October of 2023 and now I have had to replace both due to a E1 Code. Positioning in tank is correct. Removed and cleaned carefully, but that didn't work . I really like everything about these heaters, BUT if they do the same thing again, I am going to be forced to not recommend them and buy something else!!

Love this heater. Simple to set up and very accurate. The improved suction cups are great. No more random floating heater.
