Better quality than other airbrushed for 3X the price.
This is my first airbrush. I spent a LOT of time doing research and decided this looked like a good choice at a great price. Thus far, I have not been disappointed. After ordering, Amazon got it to me (70 miles South of Fargo, ND) in 2 days, ahead of schedule, and well packaged. The first thing that I noticed was the mirror-like finish of the anodized parts, as opposed to the satin finish on earlier ones. Great move!! Looks excellent and the shiny red cup is a breeze to clean. They've even went so far as to include a beautiful chrome cup and 2 larger plastic cups, end each one of the four cups in the set includes a nice fitting cover. There's 3 different nozzle/needle sets (.2, .3, and .5 mm), a quick-fit air fitting set, a wrench, and a complete O-ring set. I was unable to find another airbrush set with this level of inclusiveness at ANY price point. The action of the fluid and air controls (needle tension, travel, and sealing nut, along with air valve under the cup) all felt a little notchy at first, but after 20-30 minutes of running the trigger up-and-down and back-and-forth, all while watching all the great YouTube reviews on this airbrush, the action became remarkably smoother. This trend has continued with use, and keeps getting better. In actual use: Remember I'm an old dog (late 50's) learning new tricks. The SJ83 does everything that I could hope for. I've tried all 3 needle/nozzle combinations, and found the .3mm to be best suited for my initial learning goals, which are primarily focused on motorcycle graphic and flame designs. I have yet to move beyond spraying lines along thin line masking tape on an old refrigerator door to practice blends and fades along thin line masking tape, and some pencil line type drawing and spotting. But my interest in the craft continues to grow. Thanks in no small part to how nice this airbrush is to use. I have over 30 years of experience making tiny, medical grade parts for pacemakers, microsurgery, and dental implants. I can say with full confidence that the machining, deburring, polishing, and plating on the SJ83 is very good to exceptional. If I could get what I'd really like; FIRST, would be a .35 or .38mm nozzle/ needle set. From what I've gathered,.35mm is better suited to the black, candy, and pearl effects on motorcycle parts I'm going for. Also, different nozzle cap options. Particularly a crown and a pencil guige (1 or 2 finger) would be great. Stay tuned, I'll post pictures as soon as I get good enough. Next purchase will be the NCT-116 trigger style kit. The plan is to document my progress on YouTube. Hope you've all found this useful. Good Luck.

Good quality airbrush
Good quality airbrush Ben using mine for over a year. As long as you clean it and maintenance it good it works great for the price. I spray and average of 20 to 30 baits a day and haven’t had any problem with clogging. Sprays a good even finish and can get down to fine details. Cleaning is simple.

Awesome!!!
Okay so to be honest I just started trying to learn airbrushing a few weeks ago. I bought a relatively cheap kit to start with just to see if I even liked airbrushing and was I even good at it since I'm not very artistic. Well turned out I do very much like it and the cheap little kit that I bought works great for learning without spending a lot of money. Although I am not good at it yet as far as technique I'm sure I will get there after a while. The kit I bought came with its own airbrush And I found it very frustrating because I had to make my paint almost water to get it to work correctly without clogging the rush every 20 seconds. I then bought a second airbrush by Master with a trigger instead of the button on top because my finger was starting to hurt. It does perform much better than the one that came with the kit and I can say that I like the trigger a lot more but it was still kind of frustrating to use with a lot of clogging or splattering of paint but easier to clean. I saw this one come up as recommended and honestly I bought it just because I thought it looked pretty hahaha But also the reviews were really good. It wasn't that expensive so I decided to go ahead and take a chance I figured the other two were performing as they should and it was probably something user error. Now I'm wondering if that was a correct assumption because this airbrush is awesome!! I have only been using it for 2 days but I have done quite a bit of practicing within those two days and have had no issues whatsoever with this airbrush. I am able to use paint that I feel should be the right consistency but seemed to clog the other two or spatter all over the place because I had to water it down so much. This airbrush is so smooth and easy to use I even bought another one. I found that I much prefer to have two brushes ready to go at the same time so I can quickly switch between colors but after trying this one I didn't even want to use one of the other two for my second brush. Obviously since I've only had it a day or two I cannot speak for long-term but for the price I would definitely recommend it, at least for beginners!

It's not awful
This airbrush is surprising. It's not awful. It's not great. It's definitely worth the money. I feel it's better than the Master G233 brush I started with and probably better than the Gaahleri GHAD39 I own. It's not nearly as nice as my Badger Patriot 105 when it's well tuned. The trigger is a little stiff and not exactly smooth but it may wear in. The paint limiter knob at the back of the brush is a bit loose and wobbly but can probably be fixed with a little teflon tape or a different O-ring. It does do decent line work and is fairly consistent. I like the tip/nozzle design. It seems robust and is not fiddly to change out. The tip protector is a little big but it works. If the trigger was a little smoother, I may have given it 5 stars. I would definitely say it's a 5 star value if not quite 5 star quality. There is a lot included with the brush and I would recommend this as a first air brush or even as a backup brush. Over all, I'm pleased with it.

Works for me!
Great little airbrush! Price is right! Does everything I need it to do. I mostly paint T shirts and a few skateboard decks. Ive used both water based and solvent paints in it and they work great.

GARBAGE. COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT
What an absolute disappointment. I had such high hopes the way they bragged on this airbrush. First off straight out of the box it was assembled incorrectly, the trigger didn't function and paint just dripped straight out of the nozzle. After watching their entire ensemble of videos and disassembling it completely, then properly assembling it as per their instructions, I thought I was in business as it sprayed properly for about 30 seconds. From that point on every time I picked it up it had a different issue. First the needle wouldn't close all the way even after tightening the tip exactly as they recommended in their videos. Cranking the needle/trigger tension all the way up to max only partially solved the problem enough for me to start spraying away from my work to keep the drips off my work and then move the spray onto my work as long as I didn't stop and start :-/. From there the trigger just started sticking in the depressed position and spraying continuously until I pulled the hose, which resulted in the remaining paint flowing freely out the tip. Not to mention the larger plastic cup threads are machined too big and do not tighten uo on the airbrush, could not be used right out of the box. Nothing about this airbrush met expectations. The biggest disappointment is that I hadn't opened the box until after the return window expired, so now I'm stuck with this brand new piece of garbage dumped in my old scrap parts box. Spare yourself and buy a quality airbrush from a quality manufacturer.

$40 not wasted on this airbrush…but it was
Update: returned. It began quickly degrading and functioning rather rather poorly. Back to the drawing board for the designers unfortunately cause it seemed good from the ad hype. Let me just say I have never returned an iwata or badger or h&s or creos. To avoid silliness, spend a bit more if you want to keep airbrushing cause you’ll want to quit by using an inexpensive one for more than slapping out some thin primer. The review below is for very initial use. I’m used to spending well more than $40 for an AB and have owned most available. While in some ways this one is a $40 unit, in other ways it is much better than that. Out of the box it looks great. Accessories decent and nice extra metal cup. This is a lightweight ab and when you put the heavier metal cup on the balance is silly front heavy. The rear cap assembly (nicely machined) is aluminum and overall too light imo for the action that is produced by the trigger that slides down the grooved sidewalls channel. The grooves provide “notched” rest spots for the trigger which is different in feel but not bad really although it does not feel silky smooth during travel and kind of makes me question it more than appreciate it at this point. It is a nice machining feature though so kinda neat for an inexpensive ab. The trigger detent into the air valve is heavy and clunky but solid. The trigger height is good and the MAC valve spacing is fine. Esthetically it is a really nice ab. I oiled the internal assembly and trigger which smoothed the action considerably. The needles are cheap and need a good polish out of box. All the threading is good and I noticed no air leaks at all. I like the nozzle assembly a lot. When spraying, it is super quiet fully open. I shot 50/50 dollar tree acrylic and water through it after alcohol shot and it sprayed beautiful through the .3 at half Mac Using the red cup since balance is better. Atomization is very good. The trigger channel is a thing. It makes it feel, to me, like something is amiss when nothing is. I guess I just prefer smooth walls for that infinitesimal yet apparently huge difference in precision feel. I really don’t know if this is a feature or just manufacture but I’m on the bench about it. There may be times it is useful in illustration but I don’t do that and to me the functionality is just so ever slightly impeded. Maybe more psychologically than anything but it is there. I would like a heavier tail handle as well. These are minor personal views that do not outweigh how well it puts paint on because it performs wonderfully for a $40 brush. With the .5 it equals if not outperforms my others. The .2 sprayed Amazon metallics even as a test. Not for too long, just to see. Overall it is good-great initially. I’m going to put it through paces and see how it holds up because I want it to; seeing as I expected much less than I got. To be fair I give it 4 stars personally as to use and 5 stars objectively for value, build at price point, and esthetics. The pic is of coverage on an old glass jar bottom with dollar tree black acrylic and water through the .3. Good coverage one coat

Second hand goods for sale
Received used airbrush with blue paint all over the the hand piece and nozzle. Listing said "brand new". Bought a replacement, arrived new in box. Good, unfortunately on closer inspection the airbrush cap and nozzle are poorly finished. The needle needed Polishing and the cap had burrs that needed removing. Thinking this was all that needed work started Spraying the result was good but it had intermittent blockages. Cleaning revealed a metal burr had been blocking the spray nozzle. The design is interesting but more effort on finishing would make this airbrush sing.

Excellent!!!
Very good product. I used other local brands but always difficult to clean and clogged quickly, this one is amazing and very fine results. Recommend for airplane models and gaming miniatures figures
