Tower Health Soup Maker with 60-Minute Timer, 1.5 Litre, Black

The instruction book is not good. The heating element does go off if you blend halfway through although I found the 15 mins of no heat allowed the flavour to develop. I shall try not blending halfway through and see what happens. It made an excellent soup of 1 portion to eat and one to freeze. I did put a tiny bit of water and oil in first. cleaning was a breeze. I can see so many possibilities with this definitely not an in the cupboard out of sight gadget for me. Excellent value for the price. I'm well pleased. I think I will get a lot of use out of it.

I bought this for my elderly mother (for her carers to use). I was concerned to see that there is no temperature control so I felt that the soup was boiling far too fiercely when a good simmer would have been better. I wondered about the nutritional value after that!Also a small recipe book would have been handy- my mother is 89, has forgotten how to cook and cannot devise a soup for herself. Her carers are worse as they can only manage pre-prepared foodstuffs!

I have just sent this item back as it obviously overheated and cracked the plastic jug.It also caused condensation in the kitchen,so much so ,I had to move it away from my cupboards in case they warped.The capacity is enough for 2 people,but if like me,you like to make a big batch of soup and freeze the rest it is not really suitable.I did contact Tower,but they were not interested they told me the guarantee was only for mechanical working parts not the plastic jug.Thank goodness for Amazon.

Bought this because it said it was dishwasher safe - it isn't. Have had varying levels of success using it the insttructions aren't great but it is very basic. The blender smells like burning when I use it. Wouldn't recommend.

Works well if you only make small amounts of soup. Will not make 1.5L. If you exceed that soup level mark, about 0.5L the heater does not switch on. Likewise if you operate the mixer while cooking soup the heater switches off and does not switch back on.
