How long will this be useable? 2G is being phased out

Check internet being phased out by 2033

i am looking to buy the sim cards for this phone

I got my husband a sim card from our local Tesco, I got him a Vodafone sim as that is best reception in our area. But any supermarket will have them normally at the till when paying for shopping. If I remember rightly it was only £1.00 .

Is it easy for an elderly person to be able to send text messages? As in just a few simple steps. Thanks

It is easy to use. Like an old style phone. The letters are on the number keypad.
