what bait should i use

I have used a variety of baits. If you google "best rat baits" you get all sorts ......from peanut butter, sausages, cheese, bread. In my case, the rats seem to eat my bird food I put out for the birds in the garden I have used bread with peanut butter smeared on it. I have used chorizo sausage. you just have to experiment sometimes.

We had bought this and we used to put some food or cheese in there and rats used to get locked in there we used to take them far away in car and released them in fields.it was easy.

Cheap.useable..

Ok.its not for industrial farms use but the price tells u this,,,it,l catch medium sized rats,mice,no prob ..unlike some reviews say,the door locks down once activated, and the things easy to adjust for sensitivity,( bend the bar) as for reviews sayin " comes without instructions " ( which mine did)its as easy as setting a normal mousetrap ....so not the best quality but itl get rid of a few round your garden etc...

Mouse trap

Great trap though not sure it would fit a rat. Think the picture is deceiving. We however catch a mouse :)

Perfect for catching hamsters running loose in cars !!

Easy to use and even though the hook seems a bit flimsy, it worked just fine with a bit of Apple. My hamster had managed to escape into my car and after many failed attempts to catch him, I set this trap. 5 hours later he was caught - I just wish I'd got it on day 1 of escape.

Super Rat

Fiddly to bait. Rat took the bait but the trap failed to go off. Have caught nothing. The rat just runs round it . Very annoying!

Not quite sensitive enough

The media could not be loaded. I was quite excited to finally catch my daughters Hamster which had been on the run for several days. I moulded hamster treats to peanut butter on the trigger. The hamster managed to remove all treats from peanut butter without triggering the trap. I am going to try and make a footplate to attach to the trigger and make it more sensitive

Mesh issue

Everything good, but did have one mouse have its teeth stuck in mesh. Unfortunately, it stayed that way. Have released 10+ safely.

Very sensitive trap

Used conventional traps in my garage for ages with no luck, bought this and have caught over 12 very small mice, small amount of a snickers bar on the hook worked best for me, a small bar flips down after the door drops to stop it being able to be lifted up if you catch something bigger.
