Strange size, but great flask.
By strange size, I mean the diameter is slightly smaller than 1L RBFs I've gotten from other manufacturers. They all fit my 1L heating mantle nice and snug -- this flask has a small amount of space between the mantle and flask when it rests on the bottom (~5-7mm at the top of the mantle). I just made some padding out of aluminum foil and it worked fine (still has a 1L volume, somehow?) In fact, this is the first 1L RBF I've purchased from Amazon that didn't break or even show any signs of cracking after distilling a molten mixture of NaHSO4 and NaNO3 to produce fuming nitric acid! I've run the process twice now in the Laboy flask with no visible damage whatsoever. Thank God! Previously, the flasks would crack, spilling a mixture of nitric, sulfuric, and molten sodium bisulfate all over the heating mantle, not only ruining the distillation but setting me back ~$200 to replace the flask and mantle - closer to 500 the first time, as i was using my nice, fancy mantle... RIP :( I debated naming any of the other flask brands that failed me, as I didn't want to step on any toes, but since it was such a very expensive and extremely hazardous failure, I will. DO NOT USE RBFs FROM VEVOR, YUXun, QINGYI, OR DESCHEM. At least not for anything but the mildest of heating/distillation processes! Laboy continues to impress. Spend the few extra bucks - it will save you a fortune down the road, not to mention a lengthy and hazardous cleanup. 5/5, will be buying more.

great glass, BRUTAL shipping
it came exactly 1.5 months after ordering, which was the limit date before I could ask for a refund. The glassblowing is excellent, comparable to VWR pieces I've bought in the past for 4x the price. Shipping is the only problem. How does it take 34 days from the Chinese border to the Canadian border is unbelievable considering shipping isn't free. they should really get a better shipping company. glass is great but I won't be ordering again, this is just way too slow

Havenโt tried it yet but looks strong
Looks very thick and well made. Only problem is the other flask I ordered with it never turned up

This is a heavy duty flask
Very nice flask. The 1000ml is 50gm heavier than the other ones I have purchased. The flask walls feel noticeably thicker. Like another poster mentioned, it is slightly smaller in diameter, about .75 cm less. A much better choice for distillation of liquids that are known to have violent bumping.

Cant believe it survived
I got this in the mail and was at a loss for words. It was in a soft shipping package, wrapped in bubble wrap, and somehow it arrived in one piece. I have had boxed with foam inserts cut to the exact contours of glassware break in shipping and this hollow glass sphere plopped in a bag and made it here fine. The glass was noticeably heavier than other similar flasks and that likely contributed to its survival in shipping with basically zero protection. Not recommending the shipping method, definitely recommend the glass.
