The BlueAir 211 Max air purifier was very easy to set up and seems to be keeping the air clean through the LR, FR and Kitchen and hallways in our house. The controls are very intuitive and easy to use as is the associated app. The purifier is heavy enough that you may not want, or depending on strength, be able to move it around very much. It is very quiet on the low and medium settings but gets more noisy for the next two settings. However, it is no more noisy than the purifiers from a different manufacturer that we have in the bedrooms. I would rate it as quite noisy on the maximum setting but having that setting available was very helpful during the Canadian wildfire smoke time. It has been great for my allergies especially as we move into hayfever season. The price we paid was very reasonable for the value received.

I’m giving this a five star review only based on the fact that I know how the machine works and it’s the reason why I bought it. A rental that we had stayed in had the same machine and I loved it… If I could rate this a one star without it affecting the units review, I would, because of Amazon. The box clearly looked like it was opened and resealed multiple times like a damaged box during shipping. The unit was taken out of its packaging on the inside and the straps that hold the cardboard packaging around the unit had been removed, and everything was laying in the box under the unit…When I ordered this, I ordered a brand new item and instead I got a used item. The unit itself is great. I have terrible allergies and the allergies aren’t that great in Ohio anyhow. The Airbnb that we had stayed in, had this unit and my allergies cleared up within a day. I didn’t feel stuffed or I didn’t have a runny nose like I usually do. I usually wake up stuffed. The Airbnb also had well water which can leave a sulfur smell in the air. This unit quickly recognized the smell and kicked into high mode to get rid of it. I like the fact that it detects when there is a smell in the air and automatically kicks on. For instance, something had dripped out of a pan in the oven and started to burn, the unit then recognized the smell and immediately tried to clean it. I like that you can adjust the fan settings. It does get pretty loud when it kicks into high mode trying to clean something it detects, but if you leave it on auto for the most part, I’ve experienced it being very quiet. I hardly recognize that it’s there in which I don’t mind the sound either it gives me peace of mind, knowing the air is being cleaned.lol The Airbnb also allowed pets. I did not experience any pet smells during my stay. I think the most memorable part of the Airbnb was walking in the door and smelling nothing but fresh air. I think that’s partially why I ordered one because I have two dogs myself and a cat and sometimes we don’t recognize those smells lingering but other people can so I’m really eager to find out if this makes a difference in the way my home smells to other people. The app is a really nice feature as well. It gives you a daily chart and will show you when you have spikes in pollution in the air. You can also control everything from your phone, which is very convenient.

WELL WORTH THE PRICE! I know it's expensive. It's worth it. We live in a 1,600 sqft condo. We put this in the kitchen area high up which is open to the dining room and the living room. The sensor is insanely sensitive. For any of you that have or do live in apartments/condos you know how much fun it is to cook because the fire alarms are set to some ridiculously sensitive setting and immediately go off it you even so much as mention you are going to brown something. With this air purifier in the kitchen high up, the moment even some steam rises this thing switches to some turbo mode. You can feel the air moving. The fire alarms never go off and it removes any smells from cooking. Then when cooking has finished it goes back to its normal sound of dead silent. You can't hear it when it's in its lowest mode. Just set it to auto and ignore it. The one draw back: the replacement filters are stupidly expensive and I haven't found an aftermarket brand yet. But I'd still recommend it!

This review is for the BLUEAIR 211i Max (large room, 3048 sq ft) Primary reason for the purchase...dust. A film of dust always seems to end up everywhere, mostly because of vacuuming area rugs, lint from blankets in the room, and a wood pellet furnace in the basement that heats the whole house during the Winter. The 211i boasts 4 layers of filtration, HEPA/AHAM certified, and can filter up to 3200 sq ft worth of air within an hour. My home is approximately 2500 sq ft, 2-story. I would say the filter makes a noticeable difference especially on the first floor. Less dust settling on surfaces, and it deodorizes the air fairly rapidly when cooking. No one smokes inside the home, but in order to test the sensors, my wife lit up a cigarette briefly from another room, then headed outdoors, so only a trace amount of smoke would permeate the air from a distant room. Within a minute or two, the PM2.5/PM1/PM10 readings shot up from 0 to over 50 (which is polluted air), and the fan could be heard ramping up inside the unit. That proved the sensors were responsive and quite sensitive. About 35-45 minutes later, the readings returned back to 1, then to 0, demonstrating that the unit circulates and filters the air inside the home rather quickly. When cooking, the sensors also go on the uptick and the fan ramps up. Despite what the other reviewers have posted about the sensors, they seem to work surprisingly well. As for noise, on Auto mode, the fan speeds generally stay below 3, and the unit is practically inaudible. Turning the fan up to its max speed, 4, the fan can be heard but even when standing next to the unit, the dB noise level is barely over 50dB, which is about the noise level of an office or library. I've attached a screenshot of the dB measurement, with my phone placed directly next to the unit during measuring for 15 seconds. This is within the advertised specs of 23-53dB. Note that other background noise within the room added to the dB reading, as the room has a humidifier running constantly within it as well. The 211i Max is about the size of a small trash can, so it can be placed just about anywhere. I'd recommend keeping it at least a couple ft away from walls, otherwise the 360° filtration will be somewhat reduced when it's against a wall. The more open the air space, the more effectively the unit will circulate air. When initially taking the 211i Max out of the box and setting it up for the first time, I would recommend running the fan on high (4) for several hours to get a total air cleaning, then flip it to Auto mode and it'll make fan speed adjustments on its own based on air quality. I had zero problems getting the 211i Max onto my Wifi network and going through setup using the Blueair app. The readings generally take a few seconds to show up on screen whenever the app is launched, but the app is very easy to understand and use. Within minutes of connecting to Wifi, the 211i Max updated its firmware and rebooted. Overall the Blueair 211i Max is perfect for a medium to large room, or an entire floor of a 2000-2500 sq ft house. It's very quiet on Auto mode, and the sensors seem highly sensitive to pollutants in the air. Cooking, even trace levels of smoke result in a quick change in PM readings. Highly recommend for allergy sufferers or those who want clean air inside their homes. Docked a star for expensive filters, though they only need to be replaced once a year.

The 2111iMax works great! It removed food odors quickly and pollen from my home when someone had a window open. It is quiet on setting 2 which is what i have it on all the time. I like the light dimming feature, the lights can also be turned off, the touchscreen, sleep and auto mode. I love that it's AHAM Verifide: CADR 450 cfm Pollen, CADR 452 cfm Dust, CADR 435 cfm Tobacco Smoke at 674 sq. ft. The air purifier was packaged well and arrived without damage. Setup was easy but I do wish there was a way to connect the wifi without entering my wifi password such as pairing. The warranty is very good compared to most other companies. One year is included and after you register the Blue Pure Max Series air purifier on the Blueair website, they provide an additional two years. A three year warranty is decent compared to some other companies. I have had other brands of air purifiers that stopped working at the one year mark right after the warranty expired.

We bought two of these for our home to cover every square inch and then some. They have worked very well, even during the Canadian wildfires, and we are close to the Canadian border. However, when I wanted to register them so that I could change settings via Wi-Fi when we were at our second home six hours away, I was given AI agents who were so unhelpful that I would advise others not to purchase the device because heaven help you if you need assistance. For example, I was asked to wait to speak to a human agent six times even though each time they had to tell me that they don’t have human agents so why was I asked to wait? I wouldn’t have needed the human agent if the form that they were asking me to fill out worked correctly. Most of the time it would not accept the long serial number in the serial number field. Recall I have two devices to register. I tried very hard to make this work but Blueair let me down time after time. Because I was able to copy and paste the long serial number one time I knew it was possible however, most of the time the form cut me off and wouldn’t let me paste. I contacted the company at 1:37 PM on a Sunday. It is now 3:26 PM. If they don’t have service on Sunday, they just need to say so upfront. I was repeatedly told a human agent would assist me and no one did. I really don’t like this. I need to get their act together what a shame the product itself is a good one, but the customer service is a nightmare, and sometimes you have to depend on customer service.

So far this is an amazing air purifier. I've only had it for several months, but it does the job with wildfire smoke in my condo. On another plus side....it's actually a little like a piece of furniture (fabric knit siding that comes in several color shades) and not ugly black industrial looking plastic like other brands. Mine came in a soft gray. This is nice on the eyes and VERY quiet on all settings. Even has a "nighttime" setting. The outer knit cover is a pre-filter that can be vacuumed or slipped off and thrown in the wash. I have the larger model so it filters all my rooms.

Purchased this Blueair Hepa air purifier almost a year ago and it has worked very quietly and efficiently, keeping our home air fresh and almost allergen free. (Air will never be totally allergen free due to leaky doors, windows, etc.) Noticeable difference especially with the wildfire smoke that many countries are experiencing. It is interesting to hear it automatically speed up when you are cooking something smokey. I like being able to control it or check in via iPhone. HEPA filter is combined with carbon filter to remove odours. Easy to change filter and relativity inexpensive to replace, also there are many after market filters that are cheaper if you wish to go that route. There is also a cloth pre-filter which you can remove and wash as required to extend the life of the main filter. Lighting on it is also dimmable. Very attractive and highly recommend.

Pour la qualité de l'air, puisque nous avons une personne MPOC. Dès la deuxième journée de fonctionnement (très silencieux en passant) l'amélioration de la qualité de l'air était appréciable. Personnellement je ne regrette absolument pas mon achat et j'ai l'intention d'en acheter un deuxième pour mon sous-sol. Je le recommande, c'est un achat de choix. Fonctionnement ultra silencieux, détecte rapidement s'il y a des polluants et ajuste sa vitesse en conséquence. Exemple; dans la chambre de bain, ma femme se met du fixatif sur les cheveux et l'appareil qui est à 15 pieds se met en vitesse maximum pour neutralier ce polluant. Des toast on grillé un peut plus et l'odeur de brûlé se répand mais l'appareil le détecte très rapidement pour passé en mode de filtration maximum et en moin de 20 minutes plus aucunes odeurs. Très bon achat. Par contre je l'ai acheté en spécial et 3 semaines après ils est venu encore moin cher. Je veux en acheter un autre pour le sous-sol mais j'attends qu'il baisse de prix. J'avais payé 394.99$ et il est venu a beaucoup moi cher et présentement il est à 489.99. Donc j'attend qu'il vienne a près de 300.00.

This air purifier is highly effective at controlling PM2.5 in your home. The purifier is almost silent on Auto mode or speed1, but when you need it and set it to speed 4, it gets quite loud. My only gripe is that the app is a bit finicky and sometimes gets disconnected from the purifier. One of the concerns is that this purifier has an ionizer, which is not much of a problem due to it being zero ozone certified. I verified this by using an ozone meter. Overall for $370 it’s a worthy buy especially with wildfire and cooking smoke.

Very effective, works well and easy to use. This purifyer is helping me everyday from nasty allergens from cigarette smoke. I just moved into a building with big smokers and poor ventilation. I knew about my cigarette allergy but I hadn't known how severe it had become. This purifyer is ideal for all kinds of smoke, from cigarettes to forest fire smoke, because it has a carbon filter. I leave it in automatic mode and it filters the air using very little energy to keep the air to "excellent quality". There is a light that changes color to inform us of air quality. When it's blue, I know I can breath easily. You can hook this purifyer to your Wi-fi and use special app to manage it, but it's not necessary. I'm using it without it and it's going very well. It's very quiet compare to my previous one I bought 3 years ago. The filters aren't cheap and it needs to be changed every 6 to 9 months. I haven't had to change it yet, but I'm hoping it lasts as long as possible and that there won't be any problems. I'll edit this review when it's time for a change.

I was intimidated to clean it but it turns out to be quite simple. The filter is significant and I think the folds and size of it is probably a good indicator of the effectiveness. It is a very large machine and round (tough for my small condo), contemporary and upscale looking due to limited plastic showing, and extremely quiet even on fan 3 of 4. The app shows air quality and you can control it. So far I am happy with it compared to my other units. On sale it was an excellent value
