Onkyo HT-S5805(B) 5.1 Home Cinema System with AV Receiver and Speakers (Dolby Atmos, Hifi Amplifier 100 Watts/Channel, Multiroom, Bluetooth, Radio, HDMI/Audio in) Black

This is my first ever AV receiver. I used to have an all in one (the subwoofer was powered by the unit too) until I found out 4K UHD Blu-ray was coming, so I had to look into external audio for my new player, as once you go surround sound there's no way you can go back to TV sound. I saw that the recent 4K films in America being released Dolby Atmos sound, so I did a little research (Google ad Youtube) and it turned out to be something I couldn't miss from everything I found. A lot of films in the cinema have Dolby Atmos but I didn't pay attention to that until after I looked into it. Long story short, I looked into reviews and such of this model, the HT-S5805 and I was very happy with what I read so I put one in my basket. Once it arrived it was quite simple to setup. Colour co-ordinated wires from A-B and so on. Plug all your HDMI and other devices into the receiver. It's very easy to setup your preferences, levels and other adjustments to suit your room/personal preference. My main devices I have hooked up to it are my Blu-ray player, TV and Xbox One. If I'm playing on my Xbox One I thought I had it good using a Turtlebeach X07 headset. This receiver crushes that headset into dust. Now, as for watching Blu--rays this is the best home experience I've ever had. It pumps out all the fabulous popular ones which are Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS HD Master Audio and so on. They all sound amazing. Crystal clear, loud and the bass packs a massive punch, with sound bouncing everywhere. When you watch a film in Dolby Atmos it's even more incredible. Seeing the red and/or blue sound types light up on the display when a film starts always bring me joy.

Very good sound. Love it. The only draw back is that it won't pass though HDR. Kind of annoyed as I thought I was future proofing with the 4 in and one out hdmi 4K/60hz. Would have been 5 stars if it had hdmi 2.0a supporting HDR passthrough

I have been looking for a while to upgrade to Dolby Atmos without investing a fortune This system fits the bill perfectly It arrived as promised well packed in a massive box so heavy I unpacked it in the hallway. The system is easy to set up and the microphone for optimum sound in seating position is both simple and brilliant. The difference in sound from my previous 5.1 system is fantastic and well worth the investment. Just one minor niggle is the remote control I find some of the buttons are not only small but very close together but I can live with that as the systems performance is excellent. Would thoroughly recommend this system

I have had an Sony DVD surround sound system for over 10 years now and it has been a fantastic system sound was brilliant but has started to show it age so I have been looking at different Dolby atmos 4k systems since last year and there are a lot of brilliant system out there if you have got lots of money so it made things harder to find the one so after a lot of looking I came across this make which I have never heard of so I did some searching and it had vert good reviews on all there range so I seen this one and the reviews were a bit confusing some say it has 4K with 2.2 and HDR and some saud it did not have it so I contacted the seller which was richer sounds in Nottingham and they confirmed it has 4K 2.2 and HDR so I ordered it and it came quickly the box is very big and the speakers are a lot bigger than my old system so it took me a bit to set it up once set up the sound out of it is fantastic a lot better than my Sony system and the bass is so good and you can control now much bass you want as there is a knob at the back of the bass speaker and also you can control the treble and the bass on the front of the system it is easy to set up radio works great would have been nice if it had DAB but remote is easy to see what button does what never mind so for the money it is fantastic I have had it for about a month now and I still can not get over how good it is

Works as I hoped ps4 with hdr pass through, xbox one took some sorting but got there, sky q works as well and all in a day, dolby atmos is subjective, some will not notice it but best way to explain is the sound travels smother overhead or left to right, and it's more defined, I think it's worth the extra money but some won't see it that way, also I'm a single male without a partner to say " I don't hear any different" over and over, certainly my daughters boyfriend a video and audiophile like myself can hear the difference, paired with a good 4k hdr tv your future proofing yourself if nothing else, some little quirks like the sky q not always passing through the signal and having to manually select the source it's connected to but a small annoyance, one other thing it passes through the sources in standby so doesn't always have to be on for signal, pleased with my purchase, a first time cinema sound buyer to boot, upgrading from a fairly decent but not outstanding sony sound bar with seperate sub, this system knocks that out of the park for sure

I have had many audio systems over the years. This being my second Onkyo and 2nd atmos system. However my 1st is not set up for atmos and cost 3 times the amount of this system. The front speakers are immense, I was truly shocked at the size. The sub is heavy and quality. All cables included in the box except the sub cable?. Didn't use cable supplied as not long enough. Having just converted a spare room into a cinema/bar i wired this baby up. I loaded the Dolby atmis demo from my laptop. I was nearly in A/E as my chin hit the ground with such awe. The sound blows my other system out The water and iam talking Kef speakers and pioneer amp. Truly unbelievable. Controls are easy, mic set up brilliant. The whole house (street) shook with the bass. Seriously impressive piece of kit for the price. Don't consider this, just buy it you won't regret it. Wow.

Bought this as a present to myself, I've wanted a home cinema set up for a while and trawling through the options there seemed to be no contest. High ratings from a relatively large sample size coupled with the price caught my attention immediately, this is when I went to work digging for more reviews and info and couldn't find anything negative, Dolby Atmos was a new one on me so did a bit of research on it and home cinemas in general. As its my first I have no base point on which to compare it with and can only go off my impressions of this product and the only problem I had was concern for what the neighbours were put through. That was until the receiver stopped working altogether, however I was lucky as it was 20 months into a generous 2 year warranty, I soon found that I had to send it to an Onkyo approved repairer who confirmed the warranty and that they'd fix it for me, jobs a goodun, or so I thought. I'm in Newcastle and the nearest repairers are in Oldham so I booked a courier service, I use the word 'courier' and 'service' in their loosest possible sense and they are two words that shouldn't be used together with reference to this firm as they proved to be neither a courier nor a service, first loosing, then finding, then finally loosing it again. Don't let my receiver stop working and then getting lost from putting you off as its an unbelievable bit of kit especially at this price, I must of just got the odd duff that happens with the best of products. Do though avoid using the courier service, it appears I am far from the only disgruntled customer, I cannot recall their name and just as well as this review would not be here. Oh, and my mother likes Permes !!!!!

What can I say, this is awesome. I was very surprised to see the size of the box and when unpacked even more surprised to see how big the amp, speakers and subwoofer is but the quality of the sound compared to my all in one home cinema sound system is crystal clear. I will not be going back to an all in one from now on. I'm glad I took the plunge in buying this product as it is well worth listening to 4k and blu ray movies as it's like being in a cinemas.

Sonido de escándalo, muchísima potencia, y muy accesible y fácil de conectar, todo muy simplificado. El envío llegó muy rápido y todo perfecto. Es bastante más grande de lo que parece en la foto, sobre todo el equipo y los altavoces centrales. Si es tu primer home cinema no te arrepentirás. El atmos lo hemos conectado a un pc con algunas demos que hemos bajado y se te cae la mandíbula al suelo, sólo os digo eso. Recomendable 100%.

Ich war lange auf der Suche nach ein neues Heimkino was mal ordentlichen Bass hat und alle neuen Tonformate abspielt (Dolby Atmos, DTS HD oder DolbyTrue HD). Mir war dabei völlig egal ob er Netzwerkfähig ist und sonstigen Streaming Schnick-Schnack kann. Ich wollte meine Xbox & Bluray-Player darüber laufen lassen und das macht er Hervorragend. Die Verarbeitung ist Top, keine Knöpfe oder Regler wackeln vor sich hin. Der Aufbau und das Verkabeln sind sehr einfach und das mitgelieferte Mikrofon zum Einmessen der Lautsprecher funktioniert auch überraschend gut. Alle Lautsprecher sind sehr hochwertig und liefern eine sehr gute Tonqualität und der Subwoofer, nunja, voll aufdrehen werde ich den in einer Mietwohung nun nicht, hab den auf 0db und das Master Level auf 12uhr gestellt und der wummst schon ganz gut los ;-). Anfangs war ich etwas erschrocken über die doch sehr groß geratenen Front Lautsprecher aber da ja auch die Atmos LS mit intigriert sind und auch separat angeschlossen werden kann man es etwas nachvollziehen, immerhin machen die LS eine sehr gut arbeit. Ich kann das System an diejenigen weiter empfehlen die auf der Suche sind, die ein soliden AV-Receiver wollen der nicht jeden schnick schnack mitmacht aber alle zukünftigen Medien wiedergeben kann!

Excellent audio output comparatively

L'alta qualità si vede nel momento in cui si toglie dall'imballaggio questo fantastico home theatre. I materiali sono di prima qualità, ed una volta messo in funzione, beh...non ha nulla da inviadiare all'altro mio impianto 5.1 Bose. Certo, paragonando Onkyo con quest'ultimo impianto c'è da dire che le casse sono di dimensioni molto più grandi, ma non per questo sfigurano, anzi, a livello estetico danno un tocco in più all'arredamento del salotto. Il suono è molto coinvolgente e "pieno", le due casse frontali (destra e sinistra) sono in realtà a 2 canali ciascuna, perchè emettono il suono frontalmente ma anche dalla parte superiore della cassa, facendolo rimbalzare sul soffitto e creando un effetto tridimensionale molto avvolgente. Molto valido il CEC che mi permette di regolare il volume, spegnere ed accendere l'impianto semplicemente dando i comandi volume e power al televisore con il suo telecomando. Una sorpresa è stata che il modello HT-S5805 supporta HDR anche se non è specificato come nel modello HT-S7805!!!!

Das Onkyo HT-S5805 System in schwarz ist die Wucht. Zumindest im Vergleich zu meiner alten JVC-Anlage ;). Das Paket riesig, der Inhalt auch. Receiver, Subwoofer und Satelliten machen soweit einen ordentlichen Eindruck (Satelliten sind alle aus Holz). Die Height-Lautsprecher sind in die Front-Lautsprecher eingebaut (dementsprechend hoch sind sie). Die Einrichtung ist ein Kinderspiel, die Kabellängen einiger Boxen dürfte länger sein - selbst bei einem 20qm-Wohnzimmer hat es ohne Verlängerung nicht ganz gereicht. Das Einmessen mit dem Einmessmikrofon funktioniert simpel und das Ergebnis ist in Ordnung. Trotzdem habe ich anschließend die Lautstärke von einzelnen Satelliten noch leicht angepass (z.B. vom Center). Ein Test mit aktuellen Dolby ATMOS Demos hat dann eindeutig bewiesen, dass man hier für vergleichsweise wenig Geld ein sehr ordentliches System bekommt: die Demos klangen sehr eindrucksvoll. Dass mit aktuellen BluRays noch nicht alle Atmos-Vorteile zum Zug kommen ist klar, da es bisher nur sehr wenige Atmos-enabled BluRays gibt. Aber das wird noch :). Klar, könnte man mit anderen Anlagen und mit massiv mehr Geldeinsatz noch viel bessere Klänge erhalten, aber für den Preis des Onkyo-Systems wurde die Erwartung auf jeden Fall voll erfüllt. Unterm Strich kann ich sagen: gut investiertes Geld für eine solide Audio-Anlage.
