Type of bracket depends on door frame but standard z bracket on here worked with slight adjustment

Q: Can this be used on pvc doors

There is no reason why it wouldn't work, but if it's a main door you may want a slightly stronger one and you will probably need different brackets. If you get different brackets and have a solid place to attach the bracket on the door it should work.

Q: Can this be used outdoors?

Yes it can be used outdoors. But you must waterproof the wire connection !
