Cardale Garage Door Spares Parts Cones and Cables - CD45 Gear Canopy

Worked well, and fixed the problem. The job itself is relatively easy but there's a lot of tension in the main spring. Be careful. These parts fit my door perfectly. Would recommend drilling a small (0.5mm) countersink into the shaft to help you get the roll pins back in. Did the job, and cost a lot less than paying someone else to do it.

Very good product, the job was said to be extremely difficult once the main tension spring has lost its tension, following videos off YouTube helped massively, don’t forget to grease the cones and wires and guide channels to aid longevity of this kit.

Great service - arrived very quick. The cable lengths were perfect and the spring pin holes lined up well. The kit fitted and operated as it should do. My only gripes are that the hole in the centre of the cones is oversize by about 0.5 mm or more and so they are a sloppy fit on the spring shaft and the spring pins appeared a little oversized making a very tight fit in the spring shaft. Had to clearance drill the shaft so that the pin would knock in without bending the shaft. That did not stop it working but is not great for confidence in the general quality. For the price it was satisfactory.

Our garage door broke(the spring mechanism and cables) and would have cost a bit to replace the whole door or get someone in to fix it so my husband ordered this part along with another two (will tell you about those later) in order for him to fix it himself He used the Cardale Garage Door Spares Parts Cones and Cables to replace ours as they had snapped, but in order to replace them he needed to take the tension off first so used the tools (mentioned below) to enable him to do this and to do it safely. . The cones and cables were definitely worth purchasing for £11.50 and were easy to use and saved us a fortune and now we have the tools should my son decide to break the door again! The other tools we purchased to help fix the garage were:- Pattern Spring Re-tensioning Kit Pre 1992 to suit Henderson canopy priced at £7.95 Bahco Sb-3734N-4-150 Par Pin Punch 4Mm 5/32In priced at £5.12 So in summary we have saved ourselves money, it was easy to use, didn't take too long to sort and we have the tools should it happen again.

Really good product but worth watching a video first before you install.I also needed to buy two 22mm spanners and a pair of mulgrips and you will also need a 4mm pin or an old drill to use as a drift .The most important thing of all is to take the tension off the wires by locking the spring before any work is done .The product itself is good quality and works very well and allows a very smooth operation of the garage door.....Works like new🙂👍

The kit came quicker than anticipated, on opening it, I was disappointed to see that it wasn't the red and white cones, as the image for the product was and mine are, but two black cones. They do have L and R on them so all okay. The instructions for fitting however are quite poor. The writing is okay but the image is poor ( I found the original image online and being able to enlarge it does clear things up. It can be found at online garage door spares if anyone needs it. Will be fitting it soon, so will update review if any thing more positive or negative arises

Simple problem both garage door assister wires snapped hence garage door not functional. Watched YouTube videos and saw that it was a relatively easy fix. The cones are easy to remove, I bought the cones, pins and bacho pin punch. Refitted the cones with the split pins. Attached the wires to the lugs. Problem was I had to re-torsion the spring, it took about 20 turns before the door was adjusted and lifted easily with one hand. The supplied kit was value for money, I was quoted £70 to repair. The tension wires are a good thickness. All in all a good kit.
