How long can you leave the cooling element in the freezer

I leave the gel sachets in the freezer all the time. To avoid damaging the sechets it is worth wrapping them in a freezer proof bag.

Can you chill champagne in it?

Hi. No this only fits wine bottles which are thinner. Vacu Vin do sell a champagne cooler in a similar design with black plastic around the top. Bear in mind these really are designed to keep an already chilled bottle chilled on a table. They do NOT chill from room temperature to chilled in the five minutes they state. I tested it and after 25 minutes with a bottle in this and one in the freezer the temperature was slightly cooler from the freezer. Hope this helps! Product quality is great though and service is great.
