Securit SP7716 White Ceramic Classic Mortice Door Knob Set - 60mm,White,rose

I've recently adopted a pup and, unlike my other dog, he is tall enough to open the doors that have a traditional handle. I'm slowly changing all the handles to knobs to thwart him. Not only do these do the trick, they look smart as well! The tiny screw to tighten up the knobs to the spindle is a bit fiddly to attach, unless you're an acrobat or a gymnast, once inserted and tightened though, everything is nice and secure. I will be buying four more pairs to finish off the refurbishment.

Nice handles

I needed a set of door knobs for temporary fix. After receiving them, they are staying. We'll exceeded expectation. Solid and well made, proper screws and fittings, (not the cheap alloy that threads when you touch it). Nice easy install, perfect fit. Amazing value for money . Especially when you look at some of the others that cost 3 times the amount. 10/10

Bought a few of these for a project - plus is that they look and feel lovely. Downside is that two have sheared over the last four years and one shattered trying to tighten fixing screw. The fixings really aren’t good enough - have had to improvise and even superglue them to stop screws coming loose. Tighten them too far and they shatter.

Very low fired ceramics with the consistency of a hard biscuit, one pair had oval grub screw holes which caused neck of knob to break when attempting to tighten grub screwGrub screws are too short and do not bite into slots in the bar.My solution involved white epoxy for repair and marking and drilling 3mm holes in side of bar to locate grub screws.Seriously poor quality.

Used for a bathroom door. Very easy to fit and suprised at the negative feedback to be honest. Best to fit to a new door as the hole for the handle bar only needs to be big enough to just clear the bar. If the door has been drilled previously for a lever type handle then there may be a problen mounting the escutcheon that the knob sits in. Again, this is ceramic and has no load bearing on it so the screws only need to be tight enough to hold the escutcheon in place. The bar has wedged ends so the wedge needs to be on the side of the grub screw so that the scew does not need to be tight, only tight enough to prevent the handle/knob from pulling off. With all screws NEVER use a power driver. I used a tiny amount of mastic type adhesive in the bar cavity of the knob just to be sure.

One of the ceramic support ring arrived broken. It was not packaged well and appeared to have been thrown into the box to rattle around. The screws supplied were of poor quality and would not penetrate the wooden door. I used alternative screws. The door handle mechanism works well, but badly let down by the poor quality of packaging and inferior screws.
